it's raining too heavily!

ok small update. i figured (roughly from some website i googled) that the tortoise is a female, given that it sports a small crevass on its shell just below it's head. and it's belly doesn't appear too concave (males, for mounting during intercourse ;) to me.

anyway, the rain seems heavier than earlier on. a stretch of the upp paya lebar road was flooded at least a few (10+?) centimetres in depth. enough for my vehicle to slow down quite a bit at least. quite freaky, this kind of weather. you wouldn't want to be on the road unless you are like me =x i find it challenging but i'm not all that daunted.

i came home and seeing the torrential rain (maybe it's got something to do with the tremors we felt from the earlier quakes in neighbouring Indonesia. may the 4 souls rest in peace indeed. but i digressed. about the tortoise (as opposed to a turtle, because it seemed more land-loving, with columnar hind legs) we took in, i then decided to bring her indoors. it's warmer here at least. beats taking refuge under this wooden chair of ours with wide gaps inbetween the wooden planks for rain to pour through. i made her a temporary home using an opened-up shoebox (yes actually i do have plenty of boxes i keep... a closet karang guni man...) and a bit of old newspaper for bedding. hope she isn't too freaked out by all that has happened.

*don't worry about it honey...*
