Mind Over Time - research into biological clock reveals possible causes of various ailments

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been trying to adjust my biological clock to wake up ever so slightly earlier each day. Although it doesn't seem very successful yet, I've managed to wake up about 10mins earlier than before on weekdays.

By setting my phone alarm clock to go off initially at 8am, then 7.50am, 7.40am and so on. Of course I know I might not wake up exactly as well, so I've given myself a bit of a leeway. My phone has this function to "postpone" the reminder I've set, 5/10/15minutes at a time. So although I've been lazing off on this feature, I can only do it a maximum of about 5 times before I finally give up pressing the button and get out of bed.

My alarm is set to 7.10am so far, and my postponing has been regularly at about 3-4times with delays of 10-15mins. Interestingly enough, today despite being a Monday, I managed to wake up at 7.30am and was fortunate enough not to have the typical toilet trips I get. Hence I arrived in the office at 8.15am! That's 30mins earlier than usual! (*ahem* yes I'm usually late, regrettably)

Somehow as my experiment has shown, re-configuration of the biological clock does work, with little discomfort and a little determination. The most extreme way I can think of is setting spotlights on my face to go off at 7am every weekday. But that's just taking it too far right?
