[at a restaurant]
patron (thinking): hrmm what shall i have today? perhaps i'll order their steak. i feel like having beef today.

patron: could i have the steak please?

waiter: yes sir, no problem.

[moments later]

waiter: sir, i'm sorry but could you repeat your order again?

patron (thinking): what did i order? was it chicken? i think it was probably the steak...
patron: ah yes, can i have the steak please?

waiter: right away sir

[yet some moments later]

waiter: what was your order again sir? was it chicken?

patron (thinking): damn i don't remember. i'm not sure but i think it was the steak. or could it be chicken??

patron: oh dear, erm... yes i think i ordered chicken...
