conflicting thoughts about work

what can i say? i must admit i'm still enjoying the programming bits of my job. needless to say, with the perks come the price. handling users, maintaining legacy codes and squishing bugs (new and old) are just some of the things that cause painus-in-the-assus. being myself at work, i end up having a tendency to blurt out random cold jokes sometimes. but then again, as what one other colleague of mine (who also tell random cold jokes out of the blue) how doing this keeps us sane and frolicking with enjoyment in our half-suffering. it almost seems like a necessary evil we can't do without.

Javascript appears recently to be the old-kid-on-the-block-that-is
-new. thanks to Ajax, XHRs (XMLHttpRequest's), CSS and dHTML. i dare say i do feel proud to be somewhat familiar with this platform. although quite embarrassingly, i've only recently discovered the Microsoft Script Debugger which is really quite useful, especially if debugging is required in IE. i've got the FireBug Javascript debugger extension installed for my FireFox, but when IE is the de-facto browser for our in-house applications, it's inevitable to have to debug in IE without the help of FF. speaking of which, i recently rediscovered this hacking academy site which i'd been to few years back. was fun. you should try it! (only for the geek-hearted)
