HOAX: BBC News Flash regarding Radiation Leak

I'm picking up something on the twitter/facebook grapevine similar to this particular piece of message:

BBC FLASHNEWS: japan govt cnfirms radiation leak at fukushima nuclear plants. Asian countries should take necessary precautions. Remain indoors first24hrs. Close doors n windows. Swab neck skin with betadine where thyroid area is, radiation hits thyroid first. Take extra precaution, radiation may hit phil at startng 4pm 2day. Pls send to ur loved ones.

If you have any decency in fact-finding, you should be able to deduce that it is making false claims. There has been NO such news flash from BBC. If you've been following the news from the quake/tsunami incident in Japan, a quick google search would come up with the latest articles:

It is 6pm Singapore time now,
2 hours ago: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/world/2011-03/14/c_13777993.htm if South Korea being the nearest neighbour to Japan is highly unlikely to be affected by the radiation leak, what are the chances the rest of Asia gets affected?
Yesterday: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/japan-confirms-explosion-leakage-nuke-plant-20110312-014040-147.html given that the predicted wind pattern is blowing north by north-west, again, the rest of Asia will be spared the radioactive clouds if any

Spreading of the false message will only cause unnecessary widespread panic (and hoarding of betadine, I guess) which does not help the situation at all. Whoever decided to start this rumour should be ashamed of themselves. If you see your friends posting similar messages, do help to quell such claims.
