i fell yet again. well okay at least this time round it wasn't a great big fall.
i was at a petrol kiosk late last night and as i was stepping out of my car, i took less than 2 steps before i stepped on a small patch of oil and slipped. i managed to get a grip on the side of my car, but i'd slipped nonetheless.
my right knee was injured in almost the exact same spot! no blood, although i think i might have sprained it this time. and again, my right hand wasn't spared either. but lucky it was just slight abrasion on a small area between 2 of my knuckles.
i might have given the kiosk attendant a fright, when he came running over. bah... it hurts, but i can still walk with a limp. nothing compared to my injury 2 weeks ago. =.="

lesson of the day
i learnt, first thing in the morning, that indeed waking up early has its perks. i can save 50 cents daily from waking up slightly early and getting past that ERP gantry to go work before 8.30am! amazing but true. futile but true. pain-in-the-ass but true.

mood
I'm not too sure why, but of late I don't have much of an appetite during lunch and i can barely get myself chomping down on a proper meal even after I order the food.
I'd probably order popiah or something light, or not be able to finish the seemingly large serving of chicken rice and such.
Is this considered part of a mood swing? Or could it be due to work-related stress? I'm still on a tight deadline here. The other possibility is financial... but I'm not certain...

rant of the day
<grumble>
given if i had the chance to better understand this part of the system that i'm re-working on now when we first developed it, i probably would have done it some other way.
my colleague and i were doing quite a rush job on this as the deadline was tight. so the result, now that i'm looking back at it as i do some re-working due to certain changes, is not very elegant.
the java object being derived from the front-end webpage form is not very scalable, in bits and pieces and not object-oriented in some ways. rather hack and slash RAD style.
i'm getting a headache just looking through the codes to improve on it...

fell
ugh yes i embarrassed myself at east coast park on saturday morning. i tried to skate in reverse once, and because i was going at too high a speed, i lost balance and fell head over heels! >_<"
i'm okay. just a bit of sprain on the neck, and mostly scrapes on my right limbs. my knee had 3 SGD 0.50 areas bleeding, scratches to my right elbow, 2 fingers on my right hand, the bottom of my right palm and lastly the upside of my right wrist. but i'm okay.
no seriously, i'm okay.
at least i was better off than this other lady who sprained her leg and had to be brought to the hospital.
the event was an activity organised by my company as some sort of an outing to encourage people to exercise more often. i brought my own in-line skates and i didn't have any protective gear on. but nope, that won't stop me from skating without protection again! haa... i'm just that crazy... :P
but i'm okay... cos i had my lovely rachel nursing my wounds over the weekend, despite her devastating flu.

sick again
oh gee i have no idea if this bout of flu is due to the flu jab as a side effect or simply because the vaccination didn't work for me at all!
i'd been sneezing all day long yesterday at work, a running nose (i think it did at least 24km) and breaking in cold sweat.
i went to see the doc to get my meds last night. hope it'll tide me over these 2 days until saturday. oh but ughh... i'll be making a trip down to east coast come saturday morning for a bit of a company health promotion event. hopefully i can pull through.
the bit of work i'm focusing on now is still underway, but with a couple of redundant things taken out after we realised their futile existence, my life has been made simpler by quite a bit. still trying to keep to my deadlines.

holiday mood
it's friday and we just had deepavali yesterday. no i don't celebrate the festivities but it's a public holiday so booyah to our multi-racial society... hehe...
i've recently been bogged down at work on something somewhat major, which is quite a bugger. but in other news, rach just got me the limited edition hellgate: london pc game, and she got herself another box for it as well just last night.
after fixing up my desktop pc (with immense pain to my wallet) i was able to play the game at last! all that, while playing on our Sony Bravia 32" HD-ready wide-screen LCD tv! =x sorry can't help that.... so we've been occupied with the game trying to level up and stuff. and with the limited edition box came an in-game pet mantawraith. i'll put up a screenshot sometime soon (i hope) of the game.
but that's not the reason i'm putting up this post. it's because of this Evo X.

it seems the evo x came into town a tad early. we were supposedly expecting it to hit singapore shores in a year's time. but my guess is it popped over for the Super Import Nights for show. although how they managed to put up the singapore license plate for it, i'm not too sure so it might just be the first evo x in town. lucky chap (and rich enough to well afford it too) who bought it might own a motoring publication or two... just speculating.

Crazy Indian Video... Buffalaxed!
benny lava... lolol
btw i'm pretty much unhappy the whole day today. my desktop pc's on the blink after my attempt at adding ram, my back's got an itch i can't scratch and my work as a Degree grad is like that of a PHD. Piled Higher and Deeper.
maybe i should add sheep or goat instead of ram next time...
desktop is down!
i'm not happy. my desktop pc is dead and i have no idea why. i might have short circuited the mainboard when i plugged in a new piece of ram and possibly trapping dust/rust in the connection points. the power supply was changed but to no avail. the system still wouldn't start up at all. i think i seriously fried the mainboard. this will be the 3rd one i'd have changed since years back.
i'm sending it to SLS to check out what's wrong but chances are it will warrant a totally new computer as a cheaper alternative because the repair will cost more than it's worth. -sigh- spending more and more... it's end of the year, i'm broke and this had to happen!
