Did you know?
I'm in one of those moods...
Did you know that there is a reason behind why all the street lamps illuminating our streets being orange-yellowish? The reason is for safety, because white light tend to be too bright. When the time comes during bad weather, white light breaks up too much and causes poorer visibility as compared to yellowish light. This lowers the risk of accidents by motorists on the road.
Interesting right? But I'm rather lazy to go dig for references right now so you'll just have to take my word for it, or leave it. :)
I was so totally unproductive at work today. Yes I know it's a Monday, but that wasn't my point. The day was all spent on setting up my new computer! Hehe... yes I just got issued a new PC with Windows Vista installed. But the setting up of the rest of the software that I'd need to do my work took quite a while. A bit of a headache in fact... but the new interface does look better. ^^;;

Ken's Dreams: Big house party
Big house party
That was the first thing i'd put up after waking up this morning.
And then even more exciting after that, was that i got rachel her new N76! hehe... it was just out yesterday only so they don't even have a dummy set. her k800 is acting up like an old man after only slightly more than a year. so might as well eh? that phone of hers had only about S$250 worth of trade-in value in it anyway. can't wait too long. hope she likes it... xD
i'm still pretty upset about another thing. i know i'm being anal but that's how i am. there's this new maxtor 320GB external harddrive with our data in it. it's now spoilt basically. and what i need is to retrieve the data in it ( :~ all our photos!) and see if we can get it replaced. it just stopped working halfway while i was copying some files over to it! not happy at all. :( so i sent an email to maxtor earlier on just hoping they'd send me a letter of authorisation for breaking their seal on the device. haiz... not that data is any urgent... but it's still my data...

Optimus Maximus
If i had USD 1500 (and was willing to spend it) i would grab this chance in 3 days' time to pre-order their fantastic fully-customisable keyboard! it's been in development for the past few years until people were believing that they are selling vaporware. But they've finally announced that the manufacturing will take place end of this year! it's quite a fancy new gimmick, especially with OLED displays under each and every key on the keyboard.

Queer query
If you can find a doorway without a door, is it possible, then, to find a stairway without stairs? hrmm...
I'm sick. I'd went for lunch at Far East Plaza on Sunday with my family. And then while walking around after that, I snorted in what I believe to be a cloud of dust minding its own business and the whole damn thing started. I've taken a number of flu pills, the drips have reduced, but I'm still feeling sickly, weakened and basically all out-of-sorts. You know that feeling you get when you just know you are feeling sick. Wonder if I'll be fine in the morning... else I may have to see some doctor about an MC and medication for this.
Rachel and I have been vegetating in front of my tv for the past week. On weekends and after work during weekdays. And finally today... we finished watching the whole series of The Legend of the Condor Hero. I think that's how it's read in English. It's how 神雕侠侣 is translated right? =x
*my shendiao didn't ask dandan to hide in there... =x*

You know i was a dumb kid when...
1. I debated on and insisted to my siblings who'd know better that the
word "antique" is pronounced as "an-tee-kew"
word "antique" is pronounced as "an-tee-kew"
2. I'd believe that there are in fact real ghosts appearing on the mrt
trains when they just came out all because i heard on the chinese news
that the trains derailed (chu gui)
3. I wore my spectacles to bed
4. When i ordered some food at a hawker centre and it was a
self-service stall, i ran crying to my parents on the other side of
the hawker centre because i thought that the stall keeper refused to
serve me totally
those were "duh" days for me most def...

of stress, spidey, subaru & screwball
Gosh the week's come and gone just like that?! Indeed. Work was quite hectic in the office. First some users jumped really high over an issue that wasn't exactly controllable given our resources. Then another made a change request that made me vomit blood because their new is identical to an already-made request from their sister company. Why didn't they tell us earlier? -sigh-
Anyway, you really should catch Spiderman 3 because that was an awesome show that does stick to the original storyline in the comics. Venom was played out quite nicely in the special effects, just that it looked a bit tacky with the actor having bits and pieces stuck loosely to his skin when they had closer shots of him. Spidey certainly looked cooler in the black suit you've seen in the posters, but Tobey Maguire still looks wrong with his geeky looks. But the effects is still a plus.
And lastly, I'm happy to announce, that I've finally placed my bet down for a new car! I've made the booking with Motor Image for a new Subaru TS 1.6L pending to arrive in a number of weeks. So there goes my over-tatooed Lancer. Hehe... all those car vinyl decals are becoming too common nowadays anyway eh? Time to return to the flock with something more tamed and less flashy. And it's my first car, so of course I'm excited! Less the instalments of course... lol... the guy that i bought it from was quite a nice guy. A little on the young side but I guess who wouldn't want to close a deal right? One other lady that I'd come across from the same company before was too... anxious, let's just say. And another guy was on the cold side, not too enthusiastic. So this fella was somewhere in the middle. Let me know if you want to get a Subaru too, and maybe I can introduce you to him. Hehe...
As a sideshow/freakshow to finish off this blog with, here's a little something for you to get nightmares about. Please do not drink any liquids nor have any other objects in your mouth as you scroll down, lest you quirt milk from your nose or choke on your food. And yes, that thing is happening in Singapore. If i'm correct, the photographer (no idea who, let me know if you know) took this shot around Tekka Mall at the start of Little India. Kudos to him/her!
(almost there...)
(get ready!)

PHWOAR!!! Isn't it like, OMGWTFBBQ?!! The person who sent this around via email even added running commentary in too... LOL... hope I didn't send you into a convulsion. :P

Jobs
Google is hiring in Singapore. Even their Admin Asst position requires a basic degree... wtf?!@#%$?
And based on their positions offered, I'll bet Wireless@SG will have their share soon. And i won't be surprised either if they are in talks to work together with m1 or starhub.

Lost Johns: CPU Usage 100% AND svchost.exe
this is way neat, and it works! basically the problem i had with my desktop pc was this: it had unusually high CPU usage peaks up to 100%! after locating the errant process that's hogging all that resources, i found out that it was the windows auto-update client behind it all. tsk tsk... and after reading this post, it appears that it'd make sense if some of the recently downloaded update files from MS has been corrupted somehow and hence causing such hiccups.
so i'd followed his advice and vóila it's fixed!
