Family

i think it's a double edged sword. Having family has its joys n burdens. Esp when u dun have things going yr way...

Budget conscious

i saved $2 last week by not buying 8days. Good for me! then i shared a new ext harddrive with rachel. Lol

Belt

this has gotta be the first time in my life wearing a belt more expensive than my shirt, pants n shoes altogether! xD

another one of my firsts...

This is a belt.

The belt is by Mont Blanc.

It was given to me by Rachel.

It came in a black box.

The box had stickers that looked like its eyes.

It was also tied with a ribbon.

The ribbon had the brand logo on it.

The box was also wrapped in wrapping paper.

The wrapping paper was very pretty.

And so is the person who gave it.

I love it very much.

i love it tons! thanks darling! =x

headache almost over

well okay the poor car is back from the garage. these days i've been having headaches about which car to get in a few months' time. this lancer's lifespan is almost up with the depreciation in value reaching level ground. so it is time for me to get my very first car (and the instalments that come with it) and hearing all sorts of opinions from the people around me (especially my parents =.= ) i've been pretty frustrated about it all. but never mind. i've come to the conclusion on which car to get. the subaru 1.6 ts! think i'll talk more on it another day... cos it's getting late... >_>

ok that is all...

Spicy ramen

oh my goodness my lunch is killing me and making me sweat buckets! So spicy it's comparable to beppu man! >_<"

total irony

As i described to shan about my current situation...

Right after my rt, I was like "Oh yes! I passed my test! no need to come for remedial training anymore!"

And then the very next moment exiting the ECP, "crap... the car died on me..."

SUPER BIG SWEAT DROP LOR!

this is one of the super-wtf moments... it's like i've now been forced to remember about how i passed my IPPT this year during RT. "Why yes, i remember that very day! I passed at last, and luck ran out on me because the car stalled soon after!"

@#$%

Actually that's not the end of my whining yet. Of all places i stalled, it was of a mere 200metres or so to rachel's office building!!! poor rach had to walk out to where i was stranded. the story continues as we waited, these pesky insects living in the grass patch on the pedestrian island in the middle of nowhere probably thought of me as an invader and thus proceeded to hop all over my legs hoping i'll get out of their way. as if my predicament was not bad enough... they had to come bother me just because they'd get stuck in my hairy leg.

The tow truck finally came, reversed in front of my car, lifted my car up, locked it in place and off we went. Rachel and myself sat on a tow truck for the very first time in our lives! In the words of an advert for Emirates, "when was the last time you did something for the first time?" because i feel those words as i sat, and as my legs turned numb. why? it was a tight squeeze you see. rach sat on the left and i sat between herself and the chatty tow truck driver. underneath my feet was a rather large speaker/woofer. so yes my legs felt numb by the time we reached our destination.

Did i mentioned CHATTY tow truck driver? well alright he was quite friendly but it seems all that ever came out from his mouth would never leave the topic of cars. probably an occupational hazard but i can't blame him because given that he drives a WRX, he must have very good business! of course he'd know a lot about cars... and the topic probably won't leave the corner of his mouth until he retires.

so we reached the garage and dropped us off along with the car. car key goes into the key drop of the garage (the shop isn't open 24 hours you know) and my brother met us up right there. we picked up our belongings from the heart failure of a car and headed home. right, so we haven't had our dinner yet. takeaways from macdonald's fixed that.

did i mention about my new side show? i'd created the site for the same reason aircons exist in singapore. okay bad example but never mind you... i just wanted to. feel free to drop me a note at my gmail address if you would like to share a cold joke or two. if you include the phrase "The Cold Jokes Club" in your email content, it'd save me a step because it will then go straight into the blog for me to decide if it should be published. share share a bit lah?

lightning weekend

there goes the week once again. indeed, it was such a busy week at work i must say even during lunch i didn't feel much of an appetite to eat actually. of course i'd tried to enjoy myself in as many way i can think of. way as a singular noun, because i'd resort to coming up with cold jokes with my colleagues. enjoying myself in misery if you will. and i'm still attending RT.

oh yes speaking of which, this coming tuesday is my ippt for the phase 1 of my RT. i'm hoping very much to pass. because if i fail, i'll have to continue on to phase 2 - 3 days of training a week, 2 weekdays and 1 weekend. and if i do pass, i won't have to continue onwards, and i pass for both previous and current window, AND i still get the incentive! must do it!!! >_<"

oh and guess what i bought yesterday? thanks to a couple of friends of mine, i combined their birthday gifts and bought myself a new stripy polo tee! i'll post a pic of if when i have the time. lol... thanks wor...

my weekend was spent mostly at home with rachel. not that i mind spending time with her, but we had a bright lightbulb in the room all the time and we spent most of the time glued to watching the lightbulb. we practically veg-ed out the sunday, if not for my training in the morning, and meal times. =x ah... as long she's happy right? :)

*the plot is thinning out...*

Eureka!

i've just had one of those moments i ask myself, "y din i think of tt b4?" and i'm proud to have done smth abt it!

tiredness

oh yea remedial training was a real killer, especially with all that interval training. it's left me breathless still. work is slightly less loaded the past few days, but that's just 'cos i've been procrastinating somewhat, getting things sorted out here and there... my dept's boss wants us to log our work into an excel file since last monday. so i've got a backlog of stuff to key in. i believe the same applies for most of my colleagues too... something about a management point of view...

i think i haven't been talking to some of you out there of late. hope you are all doing fine. life hasn't been too mean to me lately, at least i've got rach =x but it's just as good to have some of you out there around as well :)

i'd filed my taxes yesterday. i'd went to reset my password at the community club close to my office. the time it took was shorter than where my colleagues were deciding to lunch at! and there was a short queue in front of me too! so e-filing was a breeze because i'm single and nothing much else to declare/claim. just acknowledge and confirm and i'm done, quick and easy. so i've done my taxes for the first time in my life... have you? kekeke...

*hope i haven't been acting cute too much recently xD*

rt

i succumbed to the temptation of a mac value meal... But the interval training probably burnt it all off already...

Java bug

Okay, here's a proof-of-concept for a bug in Java. It's been a known problem but it can't be fixed somehow for some peculiar reason. At this point of time I'm rather tied to google for a good answer to it but for now, here's how you can reproduce this problem. Find any online Java-based calculator, such as this http://www.geocities.com/entity05/java/myjava.html which i'd randomly found. Type in a calculation, such as 57.14 + 39.1 and you were suppose to get 96.24 right? But you don't! Instead, the result shows 96.24000000000001!!! Arghhh!!!

Can somebody explain this to me please!?

Fish n co

what the fish? We waited half an hour for our food and they dropped the salmon one of my colleagues ordered!

You know you're feeling old when...

April fool's came and went without any fanfare...n you didn't receive any pranks too!

weekend workout

The alliteration in my title was intended. The most strenuous activity I was involved in today, was this morning, at RT. At 5mins of repetitive stepping up and down on a half-metre step/seat, it was no doubt the most aching of movements for me today. No thanks to the rainy weather. I think even I would rather have a longer running distance around the track than to do step-ups like that. I'd persisted on the workout, unlike some others who gave up half-way.

And I also just had a dream before waking up this morning. It's been a while since I had any so not surprisingly I decided to update my dream vault.

We'd went to Waraku again today. It's been a very very very long time since we went. Rachel had wanted to have her usual Chanko Nabe (I assure you that was not meant to be a cuss word) but they've stopped serving that it seems. Their menu was updated, we guessed as much. But their enthusiasm maintained. The servers were all very... noisy in a sense... each time a table of guests were leaving or just arrived, one of them would shout out to welcome or say goodbye and the rest in earshot would echo out. I suppose they would call it "authentic" Japanese dining but probably only authentic Japanese eating there would appreciate it. I'd think most locals would rather them shut up and let them eat in peace. =x

*nabe nabe nabe! =x*
