Drawing : "Spider-Pig"
well okay he isn't exactly Matt Groening in the flesh but his ability to draw THE pig out just like that is pretty remarkable nonetheless... =D

just for fun...
how to spend a couple of hours outside without spending too much? in singapore that's pretty good a challenge i must say. but of course we did it just today!
after taking our lunch, we headed down to Leng Kee Road down at Alexandra. so how did we entertain ourselves? by acting like we can afford it and went around looking at cars! kekeke... it was fun to explore all the new models of course! i even got a chance to take 2 cars on to the road for a test drive! we actually visited the car showrooms for VolksWagen, Mini, Peugeot and Mitsubishi!
However because of the crowds, we only managed to test drive 2 vehicles. the Mini Cooper and the Peugeot 307SW! not too bad bah...
actually i'd told the sales person that i'd wanted to try the 307CC but unfortunately they don't allow test driving for that model. so the closest match in engine performance is the SW version. no matter, it was still quite a sweet ride behind the wheels. the sunroof was opened and we could see through its glass top! the demonstration in the showroom on the coupé cabriolet was quite fantastic too, with the roof extending and retraction shown to us. if i can afford it i'd probably have made the purchase then! but i can't... haha...
then as for the mini cooper, i think rach was probably more interested in the sales girl and her accessories than the car... although rach does like the mini very much. the sales was pretty friendly and the test drive turned out to be quite a fun ride indeed! the cooper is a 1.6L model (in fact all their models except for the One are 1.6L in engine capacity) had rather good response and the engine sounded smooth with relatively good performance. the sales actually even said that i was too gentle with the car. i guess i was just too polite even in these situations.
the day was made all the more enjoyable with rach by my side... =D

Mitsubishi Lancer EX Launch
Why yes I've finally decided to blog and post the photos I took on 10 Aug. Gosh that's been like 15 days ago!!!
Okay anyway here goes,

haha ok so i got a bit lazy. as you can see, i took tons of pictures. ignore those girls blocking the view to the car haha... they had several colours and variations on display. the nicer looking ones were the red GT model and the Sports version. the Elegance and whatnot all look... subdued. in my humble opinion, the premium you're paying for a new-fangled design does not justify the engine capacity (1.5L/2.0L) that the vehicle will come in. the most basic model will be about 67k SGD. even with its paddle-shift and air-conditioned glove compartment (a la some continental brands) the engine does not seem to be any much different from before. the wheelbase is longer and the dashboard is just as fanciful, which is a plus.
all in all, i thinki it was might as well that i decided not to wait for this car. why? because it came in 1.5L and 2.0L versions. i will definitely not be getting a 2.0L capacity model for my FIRST car purchase so that's out of the question. then as for the 1.5L that's going to cost more than the Subaru Impreza that i've gotten for a few months now, it's pretty much not worth the extra penny.

i know i know...
it's been ages since i'd actually blogged about anything. i'm going to rant on and on but i guess i can easily attribute it to work. tons and tons of it. especially so when my colleagues are (again) either at meetings, gone for ICT or his wife just gave birth to his second newborn. naturally everything else would fall on to me as i hold the fort.
i'm not online on weekends now as often as i'd used to. i've decided to conserve energy a bit more so my computers are turned off when so am i. and at times we're so busy with other stuff (like going out, or playing on our wii!) i sometimes don't even turn on the laptop at all for the whole day! which is good in a way, since i give myself a break from the internet and the world of computers.
these past weeks have been pretty tiring at work. >_> i'll post pics of the launch i went 2 weeks ago soon... i hope...

Nokia battery
Check out http://www.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/
If you happen to own a Nokia mobile phone that uses their battery model BL-5C, you might want to check this out. The item in focus may have some issues regarding a short circuit that the company tries to gingerly mention around not wanting to use the word "explosion" for their own good.

ooh!
okay i've got a feeling this post will have some people thinking i'm shallow and stuff but it's alright hah!
so there i was in the office minding my own business, checking up some stuff with a colleague of mine at another section of the office. then when i got back to my cubicle, there it was! i had it, my neighbouring colleagues had it, in fact everyone around me had it! yeah they finally gave us each a box of our very own namecards! xD
seriously i'm pretty excited about this. i know i don't meet clients that much but it certainly feels good to have a namecard with your own name on it. if there comes a chance i might need to meet with some clients it'll come in handy for sure. but in the meantime, if i were to attend any seminar or other *ahem* unofficial events i can trade one for a goodie bag or something! kekeke...
i'm feeling so brainless now because the task i'm working on in the office is so heart gutting i swear my heart can barely take the gek-ness. feel so gek sim at work the whole day you know! every turn i come across i'd go "wtf!!!" and i really should talk to myself less. i think i've been getting more strange looks my way...
but yay! this cheered up the day for me a little!

you know you are stressed/frustrated when...
you are alone in your (quarter-of-a) cubicle doing your work and your start talking to yourself...
yes, my 3 neighbours within these 4 low walls are either
talk about schizophrenia! i feel for you Dilbert!!!
yes, my 3 neighbours within these 4 low walls are either
- at a meeting 95% of the time
- gone for reservist for 3 weeks (this is just the second week)
- on paternity leave because his baby just got delivered via FedEx/DHL/(insert other stork baby courier service here) this Saturday.

sickness
acks... i was sick for the weekend. both of us were sick in fact. we hid home to keep our germs away from the world at large. i probably passed my cough and flu to rach... sorry my bunny. basically our weekend consisted of the both of us sniffing and dripping, and wheezing a lot. it was generally not a pleasant sight i assure you. i'll try and upload the launch event photos i'd mention on friday when i can.
The first smart rabbit - Nabaztag
Would you buy this? It's a new gadget. You might have heard of it... it has a wifi connection and it probably doesn't cost too cheap. It does look cute in its own way though... >_>

Round 2
I know this sounds pretty sticky of me but i joined rachel and her
colleagues for some chilling out in clarke quay. So consider this the
second round of events for tonight... My flu is gone at least! Thanks
to the 2 doses of panadol in the afternoon... ^^;;

national day just passed and the flu came back from the public holiday to find me once again. i'm the one holding the fort (shitty jobs wise) given that i'm the "oldest" in terms of seniority around here. the more senior ones are stuck in meetings and the newer people (no matter how much older they are) aren't as familiar with this system. so they're left with me. and i've caught some sort of a cold and my nose won't stop dripping. *sniff*

Bowling...
That's right. For years i haven't been to a bowling alley and last
night i went with a whole bunch of colleagues to the one in marina
south. My back is aching and my right thumb is sore and bruised. Feels
pretty tired too. And the company wants us to dress up in red and
white today for a group photo...
