my dad is getting glaucoma again. yes, again. he had it few years back, had some procedure (can't rem if it was an operation or what) and it was alright. until now. he had cloudy vision since few weeks back and he decided to visit his opthalmologist again. so apparently, according to the guy (who was supposedly a celebrity in his field in singapore) that my father has glaucoma (again) and could lose his sight completely had he not come and do and check up. so he gave my dad 2 bottles of eye drops and asked him to come back next month at another appointment. those 4 bottles of eye drops (2 of each type, which lasts a month each) costs frigging S$194 at the pharmacy!!!
as the singapore saying goes... see how lor.
i felt pretty drained today. probably due to waking up early for my dad. so i took a quick 1-hour nap after doing my nails.
no wait. my nails? yes my nails. i did a quick manicure+pedicure on my own.
"no frigging way!" you exclaimed.
heck yeah i sure did. i trimmed my finger+toe nails first of course. i am a guy who prefers his nails short mind you. next, i used the silicone file thingy to smooth out the rough edges and the rough file to remove the cuticles here and there. of course i had to then smooth out the roughness before polishing it down to a glossy finish. uh ok. nvm about the glossy part. that was only momentary. i don't know why i decided to do all that stuff. but i simply did it. lol...

interesting interview
ok about that interview. i do believe there was some bit of miscommunication between the advertising company and the recruitment agency. the ad was posted as "web developer" but they were looking for a "web designer". gosh.
so anyway i woke quite early, dressed up formally with my tie and barely made it in time at 10am at the advertiser's office. parking was horribly hard to find in town, and when i paid for it i found out it was even more horrible. $6.30 for an hour or so of parking. and it was in the next building somemore, as the building i was heading to didn't have any public parking.
the first thing i saw when i opened the glass door (well ok technically i didn't have to open the /glass/ door to look through it but you get my point) were cubicles. blue and low partitions section off the main floor of their office into little 3-walled rooms for their employees. the big heads have their own offices in the back with windows... and i waited. and i waited. and i went to the washroom a bit. and i continued to wait. the plastic chair didn't feel to comfortable.
the interviewer finally apologised and got me into a meeting room for the interview. and that was when i found out about the designer/developer thing. but we got on with the interview anyway. i didn't quite mind being a web designer, though i was wondering if i'm ever going to be up to the task. they'll think about it and let me know the next day if they ever decide to hire me. to which i'll think about it.
i do believe i'm in a bit of limbo right now. darn it. i always whine about limbo here limbo there. not like i want to but i've got that feeling. everyone tells me i'll find a job sooner or later. well yeah i guess since they'd been through this stage before... well now it's my turn then. a lot of these situations are indeterminate. nobody knows how long will it take before i get a job. not even if they say that i'll find one "soon", because "soon" can vary. well at least i'm glad i've got the previous ippt window settled one side. my birthday... crept away quietly. and now it's less than a week to chinese new year. that's the next limbo i'm referring to. well yes it's just the first 3 days, but which company in their right mind would have their employees looking through their emails for job applications during this period.
somebody i spoke to is probably right about something. i'll have to gradually make some changes around here.
*let's start by blading more often! xD*

Adobe Promotion
i can't afford it. but i'm looking at the web bundle going at S$3,319 for the whole Creative Suite 2 Premium and Studio 8. it would be amazing to have everything original. =x

a short one
i'm hitting the sack early tonight. well ok not too early, but i'm sleeping soon. got a quick interview to attend to in the morning. it's in town but i better wake up early. darn traffic jams are expected.
in fact, i had 2 phone calls this morning. one that woke me up, and is the one i'll be attending (the person asked if i could make it for the 4pm slot today but i said no...) and another one which was like under half an hour after the first one. that one... oh well they haven't called back since i sent an email reply about something...

eBay - Search Results
you might be wondering... but yes, this is the list of items being sold by the same person. my personal interest is in the MASK toys he is trying to sell. a lot of them without masks (aka slightly incomplete), but the prices are... somewhat high. i had a great fascination over these toys when i was younger.
eBay.co.uk: M.A.S.K. DVD 80's Cartoon (item 6476394518 end time 22-Jan-06 22:08:00 GMT)
i know i know... it's probably a ripped dvd or something. but hey, at S$2.80, it's not that bad to have a nostalgic collection of MASK cartoons to bag! i'm just keeping watch on this. there were actually 2 other auctions on that were selling the same thing for 17, 14 pounds! the cheek of some people!
Home of the Underdogs
some of the lesser known pc games that have passed. and some of it here is actually free to download.

the post i skipped
i concussed the moment i came home last night. so much for daily blogging. we went to town and did some shopping. it was certainly some shopping fiasco... >_<" rach bought me the whole dvd collection of transformers... =x she also got one volume of the "la bi xiao xin" anime too. >_> we'd finish watching it once already but i'm sure we'll be watching it again. xD
there were also some other stuff we'd bought but i shan't go into details. but it has occurred to me that whenever we visit marina square we would end up getting quite a bit of stuff. seems there's quite a lot of interesting places to shop from over there after their huge renovation project.
the down side to all that shopping was, we had our dinner around 11pm... rach had a bit of follow-up work to do and had to pay a visit to a colleague at her home for that.
as for today, we had our reunion dinner at home. why? cos come next week, my sis would be going over to m'sia for a bit. they have reunion dinner over that side too. sadly, i had a small row with my darling in the afternoon... and incidentally, my sis got angry at me for something else. it wasn't too pleasant. sorry terence and guys, i was suppose to show up at the chalet but my darling is not feeling well at all so i ought to be by her side.
oh... and did i mention i'd been searching online for any merchandise that may be related to the M.A.S.K. cartoon series? not that i want to buy any of it. but looking at the toys make me feel warm and fuzzy just thinking of the past. ah... such nostalgia, thinking about when i was watching their tacky cartoons with weak storylines. but boy were their toys fascinating! ok enough daydreaming. it's one week plus left to chinese new year and i'm unemployed. the relatives will have a field day talking about it. not that i give a hoot. they aren't too unfriendly mostly. i must say for the record my relatives have all been pretty nice. sadly, this is the first year without my grandmother. things are definitely going to have a bit of changes now...

the wake cycle gets updated
i believe my biological clock is set to wake me up around 10 in the morning of late. that, or the fact my alarm goes off in tune with my radio have kept me consistent.
i'd faced the photoshop application a good part of the late morning until after lunch time. and i managed to filter out a number of jobs and sent out at least 6 emails with a revised cover letter template.
i got somebody an early valentine's day present today. there is this new 2-in-1 set of lipgloss from Dior that comes in a nice little bracelet. it's look rather spiffy! you might be able to spot the bracelet from www.dior.com just in case you don't know what i mean. you can't miss it under the make-up section. i do believe they call it the Dior Gourmette. no idea why though.
ok enough of that. you don't see any mentioning of cosmetics on a guy's blog do you?
i'm just hoping. hoping that the emails i'd sent out today at least get read on Monday by the HR dept or whatever. at least one had replied almost immediately after i'd sent it out that they will "keep it for future consideration" which basically translates to "we might hire you if we can't find anybody else but desperately need help". anything is better than deleting my email straight away. >_>
i chanced upon this tacky local site for aftermarket car parts and stuff. no prizes for guessing what i was looking up on.
it has come to my attention that many of us have problems getting gifts for guys. including myself. believe you me i can't get nuts thinking of what to get for a guy friend. myself included. it is a real headache. even if you were to ask me what you can get for me (not that i'm hinting at anything. just an example.) i probably would take ages to reply.
*certain things are beyond my control...*

how's a break sound
i woke from a ridiculous dream in the morning and somehow right now, i can't recall what i'd done for the afternoon. no, seriously. i can't remember. once again i'm shocked by my own inability to recall things so often. i think my brain is a bit off, most definitely. i just can't seem to register some things in my head. :(
we visited chinatown for a bit late at night just. rach was wanting to go find bak kwa and abalone there. we were fortunate to find parking space in a carpark at a reasonable walking distance away. the crowd wasn't too terrible. just that the ground was wet, there were canvas overhead the stall owners had probably set up as temporary rain shelters. unfortunately these canvasses were hung pretty low so i had to go low or get strangled by dangling nylon strings that were holding the canvas together. the crowd... although not too packed, had annoying people who would walk real slowly. and if it were a huge family, they'd fan out as if they own the road and thus preventing other people from over taking them. =_= another thing i found irritating was the fact that my forehead and nose felt so itchy all that while. i don't know if it were because of the heat or wind blowing on my loose strands of hair which tickles my forehead. it's just plain irritating. but i guess the trip there wasn't too disappointing. not that i have much to get from there. i was just tagging along for the walk. ^^;;

i did
ooh yes, i finally got my wardrobe sorted out!
i woke up in the morning and mucked around fiddling with a bit of photoshop after doing my daily email routine. and i spent rach's lunchtime with her for a bit before returning home. and when i came back, i started on re-arranging the side shelves to make more space. i then proceeded to empty my whole bloody wardrobe of my clothes! i didn't realise i have tons of tshirts in there... and of that, i probably sorted out what seemed to be 10% of the clothes to be worn out, "hole-y" and faded. the yucky ones were sorted out to be "dealt with" by my mum for a final verdict on whether they will stay and be recycled as rags or thrown out with the rest of the thrash. those clothes i'd kept behind, i had them sorted out into different piles for slacking off in, and those that are more presentable... uh... you didn't need to know that didn't you? basically my wardrobe is much more organised, with a little tray i'd dug out to keep small items in. namely my socks and erm... other small items. and my tees are stacked neatly in 3 piles. long sleeves are hung from the pole on hangers. much much more pleasant. hope my maid doesn't screw it up for me too soon. >_<" in case you haven't realised, i had to re-fold almost every piece of clothing in my wardrobe myself. so yes, i can do housework for your info, thank you very much!
i realised something today, when i was visiting miw... i'd been getting paid for each time i visited SAFRA/army camp to take my ippt! wow... and that's aside from the incentive for passing. so considering that i'm getting this "allowance" for showing up 1 hour or so, be it passing or failing, i'm still rewarded for my efforts... which is more promising than to show up, fail, and go home tired and nothing to gain. i do suppose i can spare some time to take more ippt for this new window since after my birthday, while i'm still unemployed. yes i know i do sound rather ridiculous. but why not? heh...
oh and if you have an ipod, and feel like doing more stuff than just listening to music with it, check out iDoom!

i get up grumpy nowadays...
why? because some clever person at the construction site adjacent to my room on the street next to where i live had decided it was wonderful for them to jackhammer their way into people's dreams. that's right, i got woken up by the sound of metal chiselling away at concrete this morning. at 9am!!! i think they started work about 830 or something, and i surrendered about 9.15 or something. but by the time i came back from washing up, they decided it was jolly good time for a morning tea break and stopped all that bloody chipping!!! even my sis (who apparently was just leaving the house for work) agreed that it was loud and noisy early in the morning.
alright enough of that. i'm expecting something similar next morning anyway. i shall let them surprise me. what sound will i be woken up tomorrow morning! oh boy it must be so fun! >_>
today was gone in a flash it seems. perhaps i was enjoying myself too much? i was fiddling around with photoshop for most part of the afternoon. that, or typing up some email or another.
random thought: i shall do sit-ups when i wake up everyday.
and i still have yet to get started on sorting out my wardrobe. maybe i should by "compiling" my collection of bags in more compact space... =_=
*people mostly look for explanation outside, not inside.*

i'm not that old after all
i'm currently having a small bout of pimple growth. not that i like it, but it's an indication i'm still... young? xD
the birthday guy (note that i did not use boy) played a board game on his birthday today. monopoly! why yes i did. with my sweetie. crazy but retro. rach was kicking my ass collecting tax money from me and stuff. and to think i'd not buy sites she'd already bought from the complete sets. -_-" even though i'd charged her rent for over $700 at one go once, she still won me by over one thousand when we stopped for dinner. and she was unhappy i was teasing her when she paid up her dues to me.
i can say i had 2 birthday cakes this year. unique indeed! my family had bought me this blackforest cake for me, and i'd cut the cake after dinner for all to eat. and then there was the mudpie we'd made yesterday. i think it's getting pretty tough now. it's pretty edible. just a bit hard to cut through getting a slice.
*thanks sweetie!*

the chicken ass gets another philosophical candle added to the philosophical cake
i had lunch at Tao's. this is a restaurant down at paradiz centre that has food culture mixing western+taiwanese food of sorts. nice atmosphere and really polite staff! the food was real nice and i was feeling full even before the main course of my 3 lamb ribs came. i was already stuffing myself on the free flow of bread before anything else came on to the table. they had this saucy mixture of cheese+ham+bacon type that we get to spread on the bread. and i didn't take any food before that. ooh and i was there with my parents and rach. talk about a double date. xD
the rest of the afternoon was... a lot of hardwork and sweat. rach and i made cake in my kitchen! xD yea we'd bought the ingredients at carrefour yesterday. so here we were making cake. we mostly fumbled through with me getting in the way here and there. =x oh ok so i did help a little here and there. ^^ just me being kpo. so we basically spent the afternoon in the kitchen getting pretty sweaty and tired. Hahahaa but it was fun! at the end, we added choc glace on it and left it in the fridge. i think we need to wait until tomorrow to see if everything turns out good. the actual cake itself was somewhat drier than we'd expected so it was pretty hard. i do suppose we could rename it christmas chocolate mudpie cake! okok minus the christmas since it's already long past. but heck it's for my birthday anything goes!
and i just came home from this place down town called Samar. recommended by Yongqi, it's a smoker's haven. they have an arabic theme going on there with drinks served along with side bites. with the few of us there, we requested (well ok YQ did) to be seated at the "grand seat". we had to remove our footwear and be seated in there. it was like a VIP location of sorts. but frankly i wasn't too keen seated there. who knows who else had sat there that day... and if it was disinfected... ughh makes me feel itchy just thinking about it. but overall it was a new experience just being there.

the sun gets people out on the streets
the streets were real crowded today. suppose the rain stopped and people poured out of their homes once again. but then it seems the droning of the noise of a crowd in a shopping centre wears people out easier. me in particular. feel so drained lol... gosh feels old somemore. and i'm already counting down to the least important day of my life that occurs every year.
her dad is in hospital for diarrhoea. the in-patient was supposedly a good thing for her mum (who has to take care of the dad at home) and her dad (who presumably enjoys staying the hospital for some reason or another...) and for rach as well... since, well they don't have to help look after him for a day or two at least. kind of like taking a break out of it...
my head's spinning and empty now. let's hope i can get some payment this coming week. my ippt incentive is coming in on thursday i believe. heh... more than welcome to receive it.
*cake!!!*

it's here!
my degree cert is finally here!!! the uni had sent it over via courier service in a postal tube. the package included my cert and 2 copies of my transcript for the course. the cert actually appeared slightly shorter than my TP diploma cert, but roughly the same size. so no, it won't fit in an A4 clear holder either. the transcripts does at least. so yay my degree course has finally come to a close with this. the next chapter would be getting a proper job. what's the current chapter you may ask? goofing off at home, trying to get a job and basically being unemployed! what's new...
i'll post a pic of the degree cert tmr possibly... >_<" nothing fancy, but it's a paper that had cost me almost a year in australia to be spent. ok, so it wasn't that bad because i had good ol' jason with me for that period of time. xD
i popped over to ikea for a bit today with rach. wasn't feeling too up so i dragged her over there to take a walk through the furni. i'd initially wanted to buy some things from there... probably just to get some retail therapy. but fortunately i didn't do it and by the time we came thru the cashier queues we were both empty handed. we headed to the queensway shopping centre for a bit thereafter but the only things we'd bought were a few beady necklaces for her. of course, if we'd gone to ikea how can we possibly forget to pick up a hotdog for both of us! xD nice ketchup/mustard udders they have. =x
i have this urge to tidy up my wardrobe tomorrow. probably to do with running through all those nice closets they have on display in ikea. >_<" my wardrobe is practically filled to the brim, overflowing with clothes! xD so i guess yes, it's time for a cleaning up... since it's CNY soon anyway. :P
*thanks darling!!!*
i'll post a pic of the degree cert tmr possibly...

counting down
really feels like i'm getting older... not doing much to get myself past this birthday.
oh and i went for an interview today. it was in the late evening, but i was early. too early in fact. despite the torrential rain. unfortunately i still had to wait for the interviewer for a bit. i'd parked in the visitors' lot again, and signed in with a visitor's pass. the HR exec in charge was there and brought me up into a meeting room. it was a triangular room of sorts. on one side was a wooden door, apart from that are 2 glass walls, and another wall with cabinets and a projector screen. i believe i'd waited for about 20 minutes or more. then in came a lady. she was probably in her late 30s, believably pregnant in executive attire. she was to be my interviewer. from what i'd overheard from the HR exec over her phone conversation, this lady was holding a managerial position, and possibly the director for a particular department in there.
to sum things up, i didn't think she was very impressed with what i have to offer. we'll see.
i have this sudden feeling of pent up frustration that i keep wanting to vent with no where to go to vent it. it's the kind that makes you want to scream out loud, shoot things at targets, throw things, smash things and basically beat up something.

happy day! (with some sidenotes)
the main event today was ippt! after working on some changes (again) to the work in the afternoon, i headed to bedok yet again for another round of ippt! i was slightly late, and got almost one of the last number tags they gave out for the day.
i managed to complete my 6 laps albeit the weather changing for the worse by the third lap. the sky remarkably dried up for a while in the afternoon. the tartan was damp, but it was still runnable. and yes, i pushed the last lap and barely made it! my 2.4km run was completed with 12' 15"... barely 5 seconds to spare. breathless yet overjoyed, i was all over the place after the run. well ok no really i didn't. i was just really out of breath, considering i pushed myself for the last 100 metres. i'd already felt the slight drizzle on my face as i ran halfway. but i continued on. unexpectably, i made it in time! i thought i would have missed by a few seconds again... but the final dash proved me wrong.
at last, fortunately for me, i managed to pass the ippt for this window. can heave a humongous sigh of relief now. yay me! and what's more is it comes with incentive $$$... not much, and neither was i hoping to get it. it's just a privilege that i'd gotten it, not a right.
the weather was freaky today. what was different from the past few days' worth of rain was that, there was rain today. and then there wasn't. and then there was again. you get the picture... the rain clouds were showering as if there's a huge guy up there peeing all over us, but with hiccups. hence the intermittent pauses inbetween. well as long the pause was long enough for me to complete my 6 laps in time to pass, i don't care how huge a downpour the rainclouds bring.
oh and i received a phone call today shortly after i left the bedok camp. an interview for me tomorrow! let's see what comes...
stress~~~
pressure~~~
can i move out of my home asap? i'm not happy.
*me no like tight grip! :( *

bitching
that northstar exercise. saw a few familiar faces. but that's not the main point. i figure they must have had a pretty tough time pleasing everyone. it's partially "unreal" to a sense, but that really can't be helped. but people are still thinking it could have been done better. some even suggested doing it the "surprise" way in which nobody knows it's coming. oh man that would have been... wow. chaos. total disarray. all for the sake of an exercise. there are some things civilians wouldn't know, but i believe a lot of emergency response units conduct their own exercises unannounced often. at least for the one i was in they certainly did. i enjoyed it as an experience i know i'd never have again once i leave the army. but back to the general public. of course everyone's entitled to their opinions, but surely the government would need to seek the understanding and cooperation of everyone affected to carry out these rehearsals that ensure the safety of everyone in the country.
i'm taking another ippt tomorrow. afternoon. but i'll bet it's going to rain again. hope things turn out ok.
i've been distracted these days. spending time with my loved one during the holidays. but i guess it's coming to an end, and i should pick things up a little and get down and dirty to learn some stuff. i'm talking about picking up .Net of course. what else? everyone else can think what they like... but i'm me. yes i could have done better in many areas in anyone else's perspective. but i'm in my own shoes for now. till i'm dead.
*sorry i'm very unhappy, which probably explains the incessant bitching+ranting*

not-too-good days
ok so i disappeared the past few days. my saturday was spent at home, resting mostly. and i went to bed without blogging because i had ippt on sunday. yes. sunday. i made a booking for it at the SAFRA Tampines at 11.15am on sunday. i only managed 5 chin-ups. but that's not point. my running was 12' 36" so yes unfortunately i failed again. it was my very first time on a treadmill mind you... i guess i wasn't too comfortable with the stationary-movement thing. and i had to keep pace with the machine at constant rate. something i would probably never do on the real tartan track. so sadly i have to make another booking for a test on wednesday. my days are coming to an end! gosh! :( no wonder i don't have much mood at all to celebrate my birthday or whatnot...
oh and sunday was a "happy occasion" day. my cousin had his ROM. the wedding solemnisation was held at the NP (yes the Ngee Ann Polytechnic) Alumni building. peculiar turn of events. they'd invited the wedding minister over too. it was in the evening, and yes, the clouds were still pouring throughout. of course, the bridge was real pretty too. their parents presided the solemnisation, and everyone else whom they'd invited stood around while they said their "i do"'s and the whole ceremony even had the minister giving a speech of "blessing" for the newlyweds. dinner was buffet. chinese+japanese style... in a pub at that very location. the solemnisation was in fact held right outside the door of the pub on this patio/gazebo area. food was quite nice, minus the queue. they even had karaoke for everyone. i guess my cousin practically booked that whole area for the event. sounds pretty romantic doesn't it? and it's just the ROM part. their flat isn't ready yet. when it's done, they'll have their wedding banquet! >_<" can you say wow...? then again my cousin is the sort who is known to have all sorts of funny events to get people together and stuff...
i think it rained close to 2 days didn't it? i woke up in the afternoon today and it was real cooling. no wonder i slept in so late. and unsurprisingly, the vehicle design thing is still going on. the client is still having changes to be done. all i can say is their cheapo money isn't easy to earn. -_-" i'll just do it anyway. oh and i finally visited a ktv today with my sweetie. this old friend of mine asked me down to join him and his girl. hearing that it was cheap (and indeed it was) we joined them and made merry. it's been a while but i managed to belch out a few numbers. and it was cheap. for 5 of us (including another friend of his), each of us forked out $7.50 or so for the room (they charged by the room) so it was really worth it. some of you may have heard of it before, Teo Heng. got? katong shopping centre. not bad leh. maybe next time can go more often. but must drag more people go. we only had 2 hours worth of singing because they were all booked out in other slots. but it was fun while it lasted.
i know i'd been wanting to learn asp .Net but i still haven't really started picking it up unfortunately. i think i'm having problem setting up my system to work with it or something. excuses probably, but of course i'd want to learn something new and keep current too... -sigh-

the missing post
i heeded advice and went to sleep without doing much last night.
i had a dumb technical test today. at this company in science park 2. i was rushing last minute (what's new? ...) late at night trying to get my photocopied items together. and i had to trouble my sweetheart by using her resources in her office to get things done. that was practically past midnight already! i'd been busy filling up stuff, getting things together... but unfortunately my printer is failing on me. a nearly antiquated inkjet printer from Canon, with hardly any ink left in the cartridge. bummer. hence the panic. luckily i had backup from rachie... xD *muacks* thanks! =x
so about the test. i left home about 8.10am. it was drizzling and the cars were jamming. traffic jam that is. i was supposedly meant to reach the location by 8.45am, to which i unfortunately reached at 9am sharp. the previous 15mins were meant for the people attending the test to process their photocopied documents to the person in charge. 2 hours. 92 multiple-choice questions. 4 short answers. i think i understood 50% of the 92. and only one out of the four short answers. you know... short answers that require people to write out codes on paper... that kind. i knew nuts about Java Beans! the 2 other guys i talked to who'd surrendered before me were fresh grads too.
so i surrendered earlier, and headed for my brunch ...very slowly... big breakfast at MacD's and i was on my way to pick up rach just to meet up during her lunch time. hey, i was nearby anyway. xD
i then proceeded to my cousin's home. karen lor... her 2 brothers were home. to summarise everything, i'd spent well over 4 hours there, used 3 $1 coupons, and wrecked my brains. their computer system is infested with tons of adware/spyware/malicious activex plugins/trojans/downloaders... i cleaned things up mostly. but i screwed up their internet connection in the process. so although they have a cleanER system, they can't get online. :(
i got rach this lovely jacket at a steal after dinner! it looks pretty rugged on her. nice. xD and i'm so beat now...
the vehicle design is stupid. clients are... >_<"
*i love to see =x *

failure :(
the day i'd been preparing for, guess i'll have to prepare for it again. i failed my IPPT today. sadness. i fell short of 6 seconds in my 2.4km run!!! @#$% i did 12' 25" when i needed to get below 12' 20"!!! arghhh... i did good for my shuttle run and sit-ups. managed alright for my chin-ups and standing broad jump. and it was bloody raining! the rain barely stopped moments we began running! i thought i'd do good. guess not. the wetness screwed things up a little. will try again on monday i guess. sad. :(
in other matters, i received an email today in the afternoon. a company i'd submitted my resume to had asked for me to attend an interview of sorts. they call it the technical test. it's going to include a 2-hour test. OMG! >_<" it better not be a killer quiz because the whole thing is going to have an hour's worth of multiple-choice, and another hour for a test on Java in general. but it's going to be challenging i believe. and i might not make it anyway. -sigh- i'm half bucket full of whatever they want me to be familiar with. i'll just do my best anyway.
my mucsles are aching now...
at least i won't be charged now that i've "attempted" the IPPT. will just have to try and pass. otherwise, i'll have to attend RT!!! eek. nobody likes that.
as for the interview thing, i'll better do a bit of research into that organisation too...
*sorry... and sorry i failed...*

feeling anxious
i kinda made my parents unhappy even before i woke up today. amazing right? the fact is, i was supposed to accompany dad for a medical appointment at the hospital in the morning. but i overslept and he went by himself. >_<" and mum wasn't too pleased about it either.
at least they got over it soon enough. i'd been pretty anxious of late. blame my not being able to run properly. i finally went back to my running routine today. i ran in the late afternoon and clocked in at 12' 26"! 6 seconds short of the passing 12' 20"... :( i do hope that i'd pass tomorrow. at least if i /just/ pass... i won't have to worry about a $50 fine and 2wks worth of remedial training...
i think my whole head is thinking about that for tomorrow. wish me luck. i'll need it. :(
*i need luck. spare me some will you?*

so i finally got around to this little revamp. just something plain and simple. cleaned things up somewhat at least. =D

tale of an angsty old man and a attitudez bunny rabbit
i woke up early today, and i accompanied my gf to hospital. no biggy. her dad's gone to the A&E dept. he wasn't too good on his feet so they brought him there hoping to bring forward their appointment with the orthodontist. he was anxious to get his problem fixed alright. but it wasn't today. we got medication for him but that was about it.
we then sent them (rach's parents) home and had wanted to go in search of this medication the pharmacy at the hospital said they didn't have stock of. unfortunately, we didn't manage to get it today. public holiday. how timely... but however, we did pick up something else. rach and i came across this cage. we liked it so we bought it. it's for her rabbit of course! why else would we get something like that? it's slightly larger than the old one he's living in so it gives him more room.
i think he likes it. while we were setting up the cage he was looking on intensely, probably curiously wondering what heck are these buggers doing mucking around so late at night in front of him. he found out soon enough of course. we transferred him over to his new home. well we didn't really have do that. rach simply coaxed him and he gladly scurried in to inspect that place. talk about open house... well then he came out of the cage again to make his rounds, what with 2 of us as his guests at the housewarming... -ahem- so anyway he got back in and we latched the gate on him. according to my darling i believe he pretty likes the place. roomier and airier. we'd even treated him to new food to try out.
i definitely have a *soft* spot for furry things. except unless if the fur is on the back of 30year old man. eew. ok make that furry *little* animals.
*stress...*

carless day
i woke about 11am, but i went to sleep again and woke close to 2pm. today was a day without the car at home. my parents went out with my sis and brother-in-law for some bit of gaigai-ing. i left in the late afternoon on a bus to rachel's place. yup. rare day. must go buy 4D liao. i took a bus today! so long never use my ezlink to tap already... after waiting for a while, she showed me her rabbit, who wasn't too keen on entertaining us. he was his furry old self, just not too happy to have guests around while he boingboings around his cage. yes they'd let him roam freely around his "territory".
we headed to parkway shortly after and boy was it crowded. we did a bit of shopping and had our sakae sushi dinner there. it'd been raining all the while, so we took a cab back to my place when we were done with that place.
i think i really need to try and get to run tomorrow or something.
as for those job applications, i'd sent another email out today. i realised that this wasn't the first time i'd sent out a single email applying for more than one position at a time. because the recruitment firms had posted out a number of similar positions handled by the same person at the same email address, i'd simply included both job positions (different from previous ones) in the email. hope this doesn't screw it up.
my biological clock had been screwed up for a long time now. ever since i came back. >_<"

sad story
happy new year to all!
so did you go squeeze with the rest of the crowds in town? or did you spend your last day of 2005 comfortably at home?
i did neither. we.
having met up with rach and her ex-classmates for dinner at tony roma's (which was outright filling) we headed to my secret garden for a bit. guess it's not longer a secret any longer. they had some sort of a wedding bash there. and it was pretty crowded. we just had a couple of ice mochas. and i sat beside this male celeb who had a part in one of them chinese variety shows.
not that we'd stayed too long. we left in about half an hour plus, and headed for our movie! we watched king kong at last. and boy was it fantastic. it was exciting indeed!~ there were plenty of ups and downs, happy and sad moments. not to forget the stereotypical annoying bumbling fools to boot. that poor fella was in such dire straits!
i must say i had a rather wonderful day today with my rachie... xD her ex-classmates had wanted to pop into one of them hotel rooms another one of them had booked to watch the fireworks down at the marina promenade (aka the mouth of the Singapore River)... to which... nah we decided against it, especially since the movie was to start shortly before midnight.
i can only say that the traffic in town was pretty dense even into the wee hours. and plenty of people were mucking around at the roadsides waiting to catch an available cab. drunk people.
*happy new year and may all your resolutions be fulfilled!!!*

*happy new year and may all your resolutions be fulfilled!!!*
