the more stuff i uncover! my bookshelf cabinet is two thirds empty by now. and one half of my 2 sets of drawers is emptied. but i think i'm still not done yet... can't believe all this rearranging of stuff is taking so long. and i actually found an old $50 note in an angpao from somewhere. digging up all my old toys and notes, i filtered out junk, and kept the more interesting stuff.
i ran again today, and i barely made it, but i was 6 seconds faster than on monday. not a big deal, but it IS an improvement at least... even if it's just to boost my stupid morale.

a flu!
the flu isn't going away... i've been sniffling for the past few days. and it's not helping that i'm tidying things up and shifting old things around for all the dust. still clearing old junk out, reorganising the cupboards, and relocating old stuff elsewhere.
this is bad. i know i shouldn't be procrastinating but i can't seem to settle down and get started cleaning up my resume and stuff... maybe i do have to clean up my life/room first after all... haha!
a friend recommended my checking out samsung for jobs. seems they have a high turnover rate, with people leaving all the time. guess it's a good headstart at least. i'll see what i can conjure up the next few days...
*sniffle*

tidying up cont'd
i'm still tidying up my room. in a sad state of affairs, my room is pretty messy. it's messy in an organised sort of way. you see, i have tons of previously-useful information material on paper. from magazines to old notes, they have been taking up quite a bit of space in my cupboards. for some unknown reason, i feel compelled to tidy them up and discard the more dated ones (which probably shouldn't have any more value in them than whatever i can find on my computers...) and thus recovering space in my cupboards.
uh. k... i just realised i'd rant about tidying up a mess that probably could have been left alone. but then again, how many of us actually refer back to them old stuff anyway? they'd be taking up space feeling all lonely, left out, and dusty on the shelves. given my current status (read: part of the unemployed statistic of this little island) i'd probably be putting my time to good use by cleaning up after myself a bit more. and when i say "after", i think i meant 5-10years after. i still have things left over from my secondary school days.
oh and another thing i accomplished today. i shouldn't be overly elated, but i'm happy. :) i clocked in 13' 56" in my running today. that's more than 30 seconds faster than my previous run! hope this keeps up. there was this guy who was at the finishing point when i completed my laps. he hadn't begun running yet. but he asked me how did i do, good or bad? bad of course, i replied. it's true what he said. that's what we get for laying off for too long. heh... he looks 10 years older. guess he'd been to where i am now before. i'll work at it still of course! need to get it below 12 at least!
*boing boing meow meow xD *

Singapore Telecom streamlines to focus on core markets
"streamline" sounds more positive than any other word does it not? what situation could this spell for the organisation? :)
Indonesian police find bomb cache, arrest three in Sulawesi
well we should be glad they found something. but it should be noted that if the terrorists have any idea how these devices can be constructed easily (with the right materials), it's not that hard for them to produce even more of these.
it might be just as good an idea if the authorities tighten down on the use of related resources (understandably, the country needs weapons for hunting wild animals for food or self defense etc...) on other fronts with agencies that deal with the potential materials. perhaps even the fertilisers...

tons of jobs!
not.
well actually i saw the recruitment ads on the straits times just saturday(yesterday lah...), and there were tons of jobs. seriously. i think i'd spotted quite a number. then again, after circling all those job ads, i thought to myself: am i really going to apply for these jobs right away? no right? should i? they don't process job recruitments so quickly right? so if i'd even submit my particulars for a particular job (and IF they even consider asking me to go for an interview!), they would still take several weeks to process these applications and arrive at their own conclusion with who they want to hire. right? *ponders* hrmm maybe i should submit my application afterall... if anyone is paying attention, i'm looking for a job that has /something/ to do with "web developer" or something to that effect. programming stuff mostly.
i'm still... brushing up. not doing a very good job, but i'm brushing up my skills.
*i gonna catch up!*

bigboyztoyz anyone?
it was silly but i went anyway. courtesy of my darling, there were a number of complimentary tickets to the abovementioned event. for which, i went down to it with a couple of friends. thanks darling! xD but the bottomline for this whole event is... it's overhyped. not too fantastic in my opinion. they had cars and bikes and all sorts of "manly" stuff. but i guess they are trying to appeal to a larger group of people. cars were only a portion of it. but fortunately we had the complimentary... =x
i then met up with my cousin in the evening after that. she was at her bf's restaurant, they gave it a name... Coral Bistro. if you recall i'd mention they had a stall in bedok few months back. it's actually at Beach Road 269, one of them shophouses. to cut the long short, they have food to eat at the ground floor, pub with a pool table on the first floor, and the last floor... that's a design firm that the bunch is partnering with. and to cut to the chase even further, my cousin asked me if i wanted to work for free. meals provided. doing design work. with guidance from the in-charge of their design firm. to build up my portfolio. i know i'm not very much in this kind of right-brain labour... i'm still mostly a programmer kind of guy. i could try. it's freelance anyway. but... i'm not gonna get paid. lol...
suggestions/ideas anyone? not that many people look at this blog of mine much anyway.
i can only say today was a rather eventful day.

my eyes!
i woke at 8, washed my face, and headed back to sleep before waking about 3hrs later. why? my eyes. it seems this is the second day in which i wake up to an eye complaining of irritation. my right eye felt itchy and... as i rubbed, it felt pain as well (obviously) so i'd to wash/rinse my eye in water. that made me freshen up and un-sleepy. but i managed to plonk myself back in bed once again.
my eyes aren't feeling too good of late. :(
i did a bit of reading up on some stuff and i found a couple of interesting jobs that may be of interest! i better get my act together asap. been procrastinating much...
and oh instead of running today, i skated! well uh... some organisation had the whole stadium booked! so i decided to head home and get out the blades. i think i skated up and down my street for over half an hour! pretty tiring if you asked me... especially for my calves i think.
*zzz*

what a day!
i had like 4hours of light sleep before i woke up at 7 in the morning! i was tossing and turning with not much rest throughout the night. :( and i had this really crazy dream which i blogged out the moment i woke. another one of those drama sci-fi kinds. =_= and i didn't get back to sleep anymore for the rest of the day!!! and what is more was that my eyes were itchy and irritated! i rubbed until it kinda hurt. i washed my face/eyes. it's feeling better now at least...
first thing after breakfast i accompanied my parents to send my sis to work (she takes the trains normally) and then off to the shop n save supermarket with my parents AND the little monster. well at least he's somewhat well-behaved today. i'll say why in a while. xD
after the grocery shopping we'd headed home where i rot until lunchtime in front of the tv. feeling really lethargic! and high. from all that non-sleeping. my lunch was nasi lemak. it came with (aka my dad bought, at my request) 3 otaks. and it had the sambal chilli regular nasi lemak comes with. my nephew was being fed his lunch (some kuay teow thing) by my mum. he was in this cycle of eating a mouthful, and running to the tv where i was, to watch whatever was on screen. and i'd threaten him that i'd feed him chilli. he doesn't like that. so he obediently runs back to my mum for another mouthful. then it came to a point when i got really "angry" and told him to say "ahhh" so i can feed him the chilli he deserves for being naughty! he got scared. at least momentarily. he did take a few mouthfuls more before he went back to his mischievious ways. =_= that was the supposedly /obedient/ part of the day of his. lol...
i didn't feel too well after all that spicy stuff. i believe i'd went to the bathroom throne 6 times by the end of the day. anyway, i went for a short run. i did half the distance today. 1.2km instead of the usual 2.4km... but the difference was speed. i was doing some sort of speed training. i ran the fastest i could for each of the rounds, taking breaks of 3minutes each time. i was really beat by the time i was done.
now don't complain, but today, i went for the suntec steamboat with my girl. =x 2 of us were bloated by the time we were done. after a bit of late shopping, we went to a quiet spot. you wouldn't believe it if i told you. but anyway, we had my pair of inline skates. and yep, i kinda taught her to skate. well ok i was just guiding her along. my incessant talking were making her lose concentration. >_<" so she did learn to move around somewhat on the skates. i missed skating! it's been so long... so we ended up pretty hot and sweaty. late night cardio workout! and the wind was lacking somemore...
i wonder what time i'll wake up in the morning.
oh and i'd been pondering on this a while:
*roller rach! xD kekeke...*

gone for 11.20
my dad had given away a pair of oversized retro-looking speakers to the karang guni man. he threw in the wheelchair too on top of that! and he got $11.20 for the three items. o_O
well in any case i'm happy from my previous post. i'd gotten acceptable grades (in my own perspective of course) for my degree! the next thing would be to await the arrival of the certificate by postal mail. hope it don't get lost! my dad wants me to go take graduation photos for posterity's sake. hahaha... i'm up for it. just that it doesn't get much realism compared to the actual ceremony. but i figure i'm fine with that. them graduation robes look the same more or less. it's the paper that counts.
and i managed to get myself on to the stadium track today at last! i shaved barely 15seconds off my last record. well... better than nothing. i'm still some way off from getting it to 12minutes minimum. lol. this is real bad.

i found out
my brother+sis_in_law watch da chang jin. they've got 3 box sets of that series hidden in one of their drawers. =_="
'twas a rainy day. the moment i woke up it was wet and cold outdoors. it's somewhat dried up now. but the whole day was rain rain rain... so sadly i didn't get to go run. what i /did/ do however, was play on my xbox. i rushed a bit on my soul calibur game. it's one of those fighting games a la street fighter/dead or alive ultimate that kind... i think i wasted an hour or so on that. and my left thumb is feeling sore from all that action.
i suppose i'll be preparing my resume and stuff already... and probably i should refresh my skills. and while looking for job ads i'd do some research on the companies and stuff... CMSK stuff they taught in poly. yes i know... but it's logical to do so... lol... enough procrastinating around.
*handiplast! =x*

the mini hifi my bro threw out had CD+Tape+tuner(radio) plus 2 speakers! and it also has a remote control! looky me stack of cd collection accumulating already! and it can tell the time too! bwahahaha *suaku* (in case you don't realise, i get a lot of hand-me-downs from last time so i don't mind those... :)

something about an ionizer
my brother bought 2 air ionizers for our cars. they are now installed in both vehicles. it just occurred to me. how do we know if it works? it just sits there! and we can't possibly see effects like, "oh ever since i installed this in my car 2weeks ago, i am now more alert while driving!" kind of bullshit. we won't really know if the piece of plastic they sold us (which by the way, sticks into the cigarette lighter socket) is not just a piece of plastic with 2 green LEDs staring back at us? ironic it seems, that we would have to trust the vendor on this...
my brother was at home to clear leave today. and we did a bit of remodelling of his bedroom. making way/space for -ahem- another baby. not that they /have/ it on the way... just making _preparations_ *cough* so we shifted 2 of his wardrobes up into the tv room (one floor up mind you... took my dad, brother and myself to carry 2 halves of the wardrobe cupboards up the 2 flight of stairs...) that fits nicely (barely) with the rest of the furni. his bed got rotated and more of his furni in his room got rearranged. and he threw out his mini hifi system, to which i took possession of *bwahaha* and is now in my room, replacing a retro-ish big radio thing with that mini hifi system. with proper speakers! well yes i know i sound pathetic with that retro looking radio (i'll post them pics in a while) but hey i collect tons of rubbish. my parents are trying to avoid calling me a karang guni. and they rather i'd dispose more of my nonsense asap.
and to top it off today, i'd installed ubuntu linux on my ex-win98se box! it's amusing to have linux running because all this while i'd been working on purely windows environment. but it's a good change i suppose. will tinker with it a while.

100th
today is the 94th day after my grandmother's death. technically speaking we're suppose to conduct a ritual on the 100th. but to accomodate most people who are working, we'd set it on a sunday. today.
waking up rather early (for a sunday), we headed to my uncle's home. for some reason, the family had hired a taoist priest. i'm not even sure if it's taoist. just some guy who wears a robe when he chants something in cantonese. i think he can pass for a rap artiste if he tried. seriously! he was ranting off some incantations (which were pretty audible, if you understand cantonese) in a constant beat/rhythm. pretty catchy. i'm sure if anyone listens to it long enough they'll bop their heads and nod in tune to it. ok i digressed. he performed some sort of rites. the family took turns "offering" the rice wine and tea as a tradition.
the family had lunch at a "restaurant" just less than a minute away. the pathetic-excuse-for-a-food-outlet-restaurant to be more precise. bad attitude by the servers, and food was not fantastic at all. not nice. almost everyone agreed that it's our first and last time coming here. even the rice was... dry. ah well. the only excuse we could muster was its proximity to my uncle's home. the other thing which was just as disappointing was that some of the family members couldn't make it. those who were on official business (like a cousin of mine who'd went brunei on NS) were understandable... minus one which... wasn't too good. my brother mentioned quietly to us that he'd went to pasir gudang. car racing in malaysia. tsk.
so goes the first week that i'm home. i guess i'm still "recovering"... maybe i'll have to start "revising" soon.
* sorry! -massage legs- =x *

the shaky shake shake effect
my dad picked me up from home (my parents had gone out earlier to do stuff) and we headed off for lunch in hougang mall. i was in the passenger seat. and then it struck me. i used to complain about his driving skills/technique. do i behave the same? i'm kind of hoping i'm not as bad. given that his age is catching up on him, his hand-eye coordination skill slowly fading, it's not surprising he can make me seasick in the car (at young age...) but now it's my turn. i've always tried to drive as smooth as possible without much (unintentional) jerks, be it while accelerating or braking. i just want the vehicle to travel as fluid as possible. and a more pleasant ride for my passenger(s) which of course would make me happy (ok lah so most of the time it's only ONE passenger lah hor ;) xD hehe...)
unless i chut pattern purposely on the road, i don't recall being too /violent/ behind the wheel. but then again i can't tell because i'm me. might a third person perspective can give me better insight to how i behave on the road. surely it isn't too bad i hope? :(
an outrageous thing happened today too! but not to me. shan had her mobile phone stolen from right under her nose! some kim-moh ah beng with yellow shades stole it on pretext of borrowing the shop phone to use. @#$% lai we all swear him. i presume these petty theft criminals aren't very clueful and i'll bet he stays within a 50km radius. and with his dumb dyed hair he can't be that difficult to identify. especially if he even dared to take the trains or go to the nearest bus terminal (aka tampines) these people are so silly... or i could be lenient enough and only curse that he gets trapped in an elevator while he was trying to steal some old auntie's bra from the corridor. so the people who come to his rescue will find in his possession some very unmanly lingerie and shan's hp too! xD
*happy anni =x*

dun say bo jio
ok so some people are /busy/ so only a few of us met for dinner today. xP shan+felicia+rach+me went olio and ate loads. so bloated that i -ahem- took a dump twice after that. the food was quite nice... but really filling...
it rained a lot today so i didn't exercise. xD take a break also lah. *excuses*
my muscles seem to be aching a bit. guess i didn't cool down enough or something. -sigh- old already.

the irritating...
ugh. my nephew is getting naughtier. and irritating. he's sticking to me like glue. have to try so hard to shake him off all the time. i lock the door and he tries to open to get into my room. occasionally when he fails he'll cry outside the door because he can't get me. =_=" ugh... and he hits my parents! little brat. -sigh-
my uncle's wife (dad's sister-in-law) is in hospital. since i came back. and my uncle forgot about this sunday. he thought it was next thursday. my grandma's 100th day rites... well it is factually on thursday, but the agreement among them was to make it on sunday because otherwise everyone wouldn't be able to make it. and then the preparations were thus lacking. we'll see what comes up best on sunday then...
i'll be looking out for jobs soon i guess... but it seems i'm still... with issues to settle. for one, there're my computers. and then there's the family matter... ah we'll handle things a step at a time.

my uncle's wife (dad's sister-in-law) is in hospital. since i came back. and my uncle forgot about this sunday. he thought it was next thursday. my grandma's 100th day rites... well it is factually on thursday, but the agreement among them was to make it on sunday because otherwise everyone wouldn't be able to make it. and then the preparations were thus lacking. we'll see what comes up best on sunday then...
i'll be looking out for jobs soon i guess... but it seems i'm still... with issues to settle. for one, there're my computers. and then there's the family matter... ah we'll handle things a step at a time.

fast recovery!
well sorta. my laptop is back! real fast man... they changed the motherboard and it's done. first thing i woke up this morning to this lady on the phone informing me that it's repaired and i can come collect it. so much for sleeping later. lol... so i headed down to their service center over at changi near the singapore expo hall where the changi business park 1 is (the place i went yesterday) to collect it. oh well it's working fine now. just that i'll have to sort out the security chip somemore. these ibm laptops come with an embedded security chip that i can put a password on. but since they changed the motherboard, the security chip was changed as well so it kind of screws things up a little. i'll have to tweak somemore... =_=" not being too successful. i'm in the right mind to reinstall everything another time. it seems fun! and it'll wipe everything clean + i'll get norton antivirus on my system for another 3months. xD lame la i tell you... and to think i was dumb enough to ask the tech support over the counter "why did my security chip get disabled" because obviously changed mobo = changed security chip! >_<" the guy who served me was still treating me like a typical user... :( sad.
then after collecting my lappy i looked for lunch with my girl! rare leh... then makan liao go home lor. and tweak my computers... and i managed to run again. hrmm, surprising hor. hehe... but not too good today. i ran about the same timing as yesterday. might be due to the sour cream+ onion potato chips my mum passed me (to which i finished easily) before i ran.
there was a thunderstorm in the late afternoon. real huge lightning/thunder strikes. despite the *new* $380 upgrade my parents got to avoid the situation, lightning struck our house again! so we had power outage because the breaker flipped. and because the thunderstorm was so ... frequent(?) that my parents decided to leave the power supply cut until they deem it safer to turn the power back on again. =\ but the guy that installed this said to call him if it does happens.
so why have i been running? i got reminded of the terrible thing called IPPT by my dear classmates on sunday. i'll have to pass to avoid unnecessary problems. and to pass i need to train. better to train now while i can and get it over with. i'll need more training apparently. let's aim to cut down 2 minutes more first. then another 2 minutes if possible. =

the little bunny that roamed
i can't really imagine putting microsoft side-by-side with the term "free software" but they seem to be considering this option...
my laptop is officially admitted into laptop hospital. it'll probably stay there for 2-3 days. and thankfully it's still under warranty (it's less than one year still dammit) so i hope i won't have to fork a cent. the more "recent" stuff are on my laptop so i will be slightly "outdated" for now.
i ran again today. mad as it may have sounded. i shaved one minute off yesterday. might just be fluke.
and oh the rabbit was so damn cute i'm telling you! one of my neighbors rears a pet rabbit. i might have mentioned this before. so today as i fetched my girl home for dinner, they had let it roam the street. it was on a grassy kerb hopping about when i pulled up beside it. it was fluffy and adorable! so cute! it was rather frightened at first. but eventually it kinda bo chup me as i waved at it making tch tch sounds. and it washed its face. so adorable! and my girl was squealing nonstop about it as well. =x and then we moved on, only to see the owner at the gate of his house looking at us. kinda paiseh. lol... but i figure he was proud of his pet to be liked by everyone. hehehe... damn adorable... and then i wondered out loud if he'd heard my girl squealing. =x
hrmmz i know this sounds lazy of me but, i'm still "unpacking" since i came back. my mum would pop into my room sometimes and start picking things up tidying for me. otherwise my room would still be in a mess. >_<"
my poor laptop... -sigh- the guy i sent it in to said it might be a motherboard problem. the phone tech i talked to before going down behaved annoying. reminds me of reverse-clientcopia. have you been to that site before? at least the actual guy behind the counter didn't seem as computer-illiterate.

sadness
ok this was freaky. i'd been using my laptop for the whole day trying to download Ubuntu ISO file. it not only failed to do that successfully. it died!!! :( my laptop is now dead. i tried plugging in the external harddisk and for some odd reason the power failed (dunno if it got overloaded) and i can't switch it on anymore. will have to drop by IBM tomorrow. -sigh-
oh and i had a haircut at last. now my hair is short once again, and my white hair is visible yet again! and do congratulate me, as i took a bloody 16minutes to finish 2.4km today. die. ROFLMAO... will need more training le. :P
super sad about my laptop still.

i'm back!
oh wow i was deadbeat yesterday. by the time i'm home and settled down to sleep it was already past 2am. unpacking and stuff... oh and about the previous day...
we had a convoy of 5 cars with us. jason's friends mostly. and we headed to the beaches... not what we'd expected. but we tagged along anyway. we took a walk for... 15mins or so? we parked *very* far away from where we wanted to end up at for lunch. so i ordered this dish of omelette with some stuff in it. plus rice. and after eating we made our way back to our cars after resting a while. =_= so we managed to get to the airport more or less on time. and because we practically had checked in over the internet yesterday, things were made much simpler. but then jason had to say goodbye to his friends and take photos and stuff... and i couldn't bear to /interrupt/ their conversations... the customs clearance queue was long. and we got shortcut to the xray machine. bottomline was: we were the last 2 passengers for our flight. and SIA is known to _not_ wait for late passengers often. so we ran! =
we reached our seats on board panting and hot and sweaty. :( not too happy. but... too late. oh well... the flight was pleasant though. the movies were cool. i caught batman begins and batman+robin (the one with arnie as Dr Freeze+Poison Ivy played by whats-her-name) and a few others. ooh and the penguin movie in french! so cute! the odd thing was 70% of the movies i saw... made me... cry. they were sad stuff. and i think i was feeling emotional for no apparent reason (minus the fact i'm returning home from studies at last) and i teared a lot.
we had 2 meals. dinner and supper. when supper came, i didn't expect to have a second meal. and i thought the cart was for drinks only and first thing i requested was sprite. the air stewardess gave me a funny look i think. and asked me what food would i like as well. =x oops... my bad. and finally, we arrived in singapore on time. breezed through customs (as sg should always be xD) and bought a bottle of Bailey's irish cream for mr sieyess. xD the first i tried out after leaving the terminal was, to drive me family car again! i missed it so! hehehe... the whole family came along so we had both cars with us.
as for just now, i met up with jason once again, along with our classmates. that was cool. great to meet everyone once again!
alright. starting monday, i'll be doing some springcleaning of my... belongings.
:)

Adam Levine's Adimals...More fun than a plastic bag!
uh... i don't know what to make of this one. comments/idea anyone?
*shudders*
today had been a bit hectic. we'd sent off our books via postal mail back home. they'll be expected to reach us back home in 3 weeks'... and then we did a bit of shopping around here and there in town (wollongong nia) and other than that i'd been cleaning up a bit more around the house. and *really* packing things in. my luggage is pretty tight now. barely any space. =/
i'll post the video i did in the afternoon when i am more... available. for memories' sake, i'd gone around the house filming down the place. i'll join it up and post it when i can :)
time flies. we're already on the second last day before leaving this place. i do believe i'll miss it here. it had been enjoyable.
we'll be leaving this house tonight. later on, we'll head over to the apartment belonging to a friend of jason's and bunking over there. come morning we'll have him send us to sydney and we'll do a bit of shopping around up there until it's time for us to head over to the airport. it's been fun being here. :(
but of course i miss sg just as much so there! =D and i'm going back for my rachel leh. =x *runs* hrmm so i probably won't be online for tomorrow. if i can i'll blog a bit more later on when i'm over at the apartment. *if i ask nicely of course* and then i'll blog again when i can when i'm at the airport. =x we'll see!

a second last trip to sydney
we woke early and went to sydney early. zzz lol i was half sleeping on the train. the other half i was... erh filming the scenery outside with my digicam. xD but anyway when we reached we saw... a guy we weren't too keen to say hi to. so we slowed our footsteps and let him... disappear away first lol. the fella's rather annoying.
then we headed to kinokuniya! well what can i say? books everywhere. but it's different because these are books of leisure. not studying. =x there attraction is there. and i actually visited a skin care cosmetic retail outlet. >_< no not for me. someone lor i help check pricing for lor. and unfortunately the price here was a bit higher so never buy.
instead, i got myself 2 tees from Fox. bwahahaha rare leh that i bought clothes for myself! xD then i got 3 CDs from the audio retail downstairs. can't imagine doing shopping for myself man... rare occasions.
after stoning in starbucks for a while, we headed for the train. on time, and we were on the way back. at least we thought so. 70% of the journey back, we got stuck. apparently the line was closed partially due to lightning strikes. the train reversed and dropped us off at this place called Waterfall (uh yes no error) where we took a courtesy shuttle bus to Thirroul. these are all suburb (train station) names. the irritating thing was not the waiting of the next train which will take us back to North Wollongong station, but while we waited at the platform, flies were swarming all over the place. really annoying. dumb flies. it's one of the times when i'd wish i'm back in singapore, minus the flies. maybe the government here can make people with have committed petty crimes to do community service by wearing an oversized flypaper and running all over town to stick flies to themselves! YES! best right!? if only...

wasn't at all
consider me out of action the past few days. i suppose i had been mucking around. not blogging properly haha... so there i was gaming and surfing on all sorts of nonsense online. but no i didn't and to top it off, the car can't be sold. again. poor li'l car must be feeling unwanted. we'll be sending it off to a used car dealer on friday. that is unless jason has an alternative still... either way we'll not be getting much of the money we've "invested" on the car back.
we're hitting sydney tomorrow. i'll take my time to walk around and see if i can pick up anything interesting. *cough* i meant items at shops that can be taken home.
in other news... due to a fateful turn of events, yours truly can now once again look to sweeping the roadside yet again. =x darn it, i'm getting fired even before i'm hired! *kidding* uh anyway, we'll see how things goes. fact is, my parents have not a clue about it yet anyway. so don't worry terence. xD i'm fine with taking a bit of a break. not expecting to get a job until january or something. :) hehe i must be talking around in circles for some... uh nvm... lol this is my blog! >_<" then again i guess things are going downhill for me. or uphill. =\ i can't decide. downhill because things aren't looking up, and uphill since things might seem to get tougher to handle... or something to that effect. so i'm probably in the middle at the waist of the hill... or something...
i do believe i feel zombified. and ooh... i closed my bank account today, and i got for myself some expensive memorabilia from the uni! silly as it may sound, but i got a tshirt and some sort of a jacket thing. and a keychain. not exactly cheap i must say. but hey you won't get it elsewhere...

Frappr! Singapore
i know this is kind of silly, but hey if you are as silly as me, join in! it's one of them other google things, only this site isn't exactly part of google. they've got a map (from the google earth API i presume) and i've plunked myself down on the singapore bit. and because sg and singapore(the full name) was occupied with nobody inside, i figure the next best thing is this.
so add yourself if you're my friend ya? xD
*note: don't worry about your location. the only thing google knows about singapore is "Singapore, Singapore" (that's City, Country)...*

SMEs say it is now easier to get funding: SPRING Singapore
hey not that i'm trying to be picky here. but... the first sentence and i quote... "Nearly half of 10,000 small and medium-sized enterprises say it is now easier to get funding." so whatever happened to the other of the "nearly half"?
that is all. i phrased a question, so don't sue me.please?

Movement set up to address problem of school bullies
it's all true! i was bullied as a child in primary and secondary school! *bawls* i was very much traumatised since then. i had felt gravely ostracised and i have extremely low self-esteem all this time! i am an affected individual. :(
and then i grew up and learnt to deal with it. pshaw. resilience or not, these kids would grow out of it some day. but those bullies need to be dealt with though. the assholes who didn't quite treat me right (oh please i mean, they were little boys too, but i meant everything in a _clean_ manner) pretty much had... erm... their just desserts? well i'm just gloating that they aren't as fantastic as they were now. the fella in primary school... his mum was a teacher in that same school. he now smokes and... i should say is less than desirable. the bunch in sec sch, uh. no idea where've they disappeared to, but the last i recall, i saw one of them making deliveries for kfc in Plaza Singapure. might be a holiday job, but then again... ;)
and about the bullying i had received, it's true ok... just that i sucked it up and moved on. erh... i guess. well ok i guess it would help that adults intervene before these kids start feeling inferior unnecessarily because of their bullies. well heck i do feel like that too occasionally. who doesn't man? that's called depression. well occasional depression isn't too unhealthy... just not as a habit/daily thing i suppose. :)

France in crisis as riots spread
apparently the situation started because 2 teens were electrocuted accidentally (they died i suppose) and the other fellas started kicking up a commotion about this. peculiar no? and then the other question is, why did they flee from the police? and silly enough, flee and hid in an electrical sub-station?! and lastly, the report didn't exactly say how they got electrocuted. was it the police, or were the teens dumb enough to get themselves electrocuted? and so they are blaming the police/government about the teens being too stupid now? what is this man!? sounds like a joke to me. or a conspiracy. either way i find the youngsters there not very rational, thinking that everything can only be solved through violence. that, or they just wanted to have "a bit of fun" with this as an excuse. =_=

Street Fighter Online
hehe just when you think that things cannot get any more retro-ish nowadays...
zzz
i suppose the most productive thing i did today was repacking my luggage. packed in more clothes and clearing the drawers. so now i've got like one drawer with a couple pieces of clothings, and then some. the rest are either on the bedroom table/in the luggage/lying around on the floor. just don't want to leave anything behind in a moment of forgetfulness ya? jason sent our printer off to his friend in melb already. so that is another thing kind of sorted out. i think i'm just about done with my vegetating/gaming/stoning/slacking. i'll probably start doing some other more productive stuff soon... hahaha... but then again i might procrastinate xD

Dutch smash 100,000-strong zombie army | The Register
woohoo! now, if only the sg govt can realise that there is a number of zombie computers in the country right now. hopefully they are working on it already, but if not, it would be best that these zombie computers be contained, even if they can't locate the people would caused it. given that the annoying "spamming" messages that every other channel in Galaxynet gets ever so randomly, it is very likely that the people who have control of this botnet in sg are in fact residing in sg as well. enforcement needs to be executed from the govt end, in co-operation with law enforcement people (police, IDA, whatever) to stop these people. i wouldn't say that they are kids. they might be, but i wouldn't know better. but in any case, botnets (aka a network of zombie computers) are dangerous and is a vulnerability. nobody likes zombies...

Singapore unable to change its decision in Australian drug trafficking case: FM Yeo
wow power enough boh? can say no one leh...
slacker for another day
i'm feeling depressed. nothing bad, just that i was going through this dead rabbit's site that my girlfriend showed me again (uh i think i shared it first) and looking through the photos the rabbit seemed so cute and cuddly. the sappy me felt a tear jerker coming. it's furry and cute. but dead.
in other news, i don't like to have people jump to conclusions on me. i'll try to understand if it's a joke... but sometimes it just don't sound like a joke at all... so the reaction would not be the same... and i'd say i'm the sort who would get defensive about myself. not that i'm any good at it, but i wouldn't be too happy about the situation.
i know it's a bit ironic. i'd be jumping to conclusion myself if the person was joking. :( how do we differentiate between what's joking and not wor... aiya whatever lah. i'm no cunning linguist.
* one tear for Oolong :( (omg rofl yes i did) *

have i gone into hiding?
haha in a way... hiding in the virtual world of gaming. i'm playing silkroad online. some mmorpg made by a korean company but with a chinese background story behind the game. the language used in the game are crazily including english with korean words spelt in english (korglish perhaps?) and some of the names are as if the characters were chinese. because you could really tell that the names were chinese-y. i'm in a reclusive mood now, so i'll be gaming for a while more. so you won't see me as active for the time being bwahahahaha...
*so fast level already*

you are the "you're so dumb" happy bunny.
you are brutal in your words and enjoy putting
others down.
which happy bunny are you?

yay!!!
REJOICE! my papers have ended! no more exams!!! wheeeeeeeee~~~!
now, to comment on today's exam paper. it was fun. no, seriously. i found it challenging and nerve racking. but given that it's all technical with small portions of theoretical stuff, i found it challenging to work on without being overly difficult. i spent the whole of 3hours working on it. the paper was 3h 15m. i believe i am roughly confident of getting 70% of this paper. of course i'd hope to get more if possible. but there _were_ questions which i had practically no clue about. and amazingly people were leaving about 2hours or so into the paper. i kind of doubt they'd finished the paper... more likely gave up and stuff. even if you worked on every question and breezed through it, it'll take you close to 2.5 hours... but all in all, i enjoyed it. gg.
and hence forth, no more studying!!! well until when i start work that is. but for the next couple of days while i'm here, i'll be trying to enjoy myself. whoopeeeee!!!
[edit: eew! :( some long-legged spider crawled on to my leg on my bed. i smacked it dead and swept it off my bed. eew. can't believe these spiders appearing on my bed!!! and 8 tiny legs on my calf does not feel very nice thank you very much. it's got the body of an ant, with legs each the length of roughly 3cm long... eek! so here's another reason why i sleep totally covered up even though it's getting pretty warm down under...]
