Security tightened for NDP Preview

i feel happy. after reading that article. at least that's the picture it paints. people actually are understanding about why there are tighter security policies being implemented now. after all that unfortunate events in London. my heart feels all tingly inside knowing that singaporeans are well informed and do not bitch about how long the queue takes and why they have to go through all the security checks and stuff. well at least they are a well-informed bunch. :)

why is Blogelebrity a legitimate term?

i was just trolling my blog's statistics and i came across this. i didn't quite realise that word was... spidered. from my blog. check it here. but seriously, looking at it again i thought it should have been spelt "blogebrity", not "blogelebrity"! an honest mistake!

speaking of which, i can't believe people searching Yahoo! Singapore for the terms "massage chinatown sex" visited my site. i was like WTF MATE?! you can click on the little square box beside the counter to check it out yourself. how can the terms be possibly including my blog with their search results... darn. the search engine found that my blog had the word "sex" in my gender to the top right corner of my page. and then i mentioned before that i went to "chinatown" and also "massage" my legs or something... and voila! one search result! HAHAHAHA eeww...

well in any case, it was apparent i was fooling around with my camera in the kitchen this afternoon. i was preparing my rosti for my late lunch/early dinner meal. and i just felt i had to record the thing because of the fact that the potato i was using was awfully big! in fact, it was humongous! and then i grated it down to size and munched it up. actually i made 2 rosti out of it because the frying pan couldn't fit in the whole thing and cook properly. you can see from the photos i had the grated potato into 2 heaps. so i made the first one and gave up recording the rest haha... the 2nd one i had cheese sprinkled on top. didn't taste much difference though. at least i experimented haha...

ok actually i woke up rather early this morning, 9am to be more precise (but not totally precise because i can't remember 9++ when exactly, but no matter...) and i wanted to mow the lawn. so i checked things out in the backyard, flaming spiders and stuff. and then i realised, heck no lawnmower! heck, no grass cutter! heck, no hedge trimmers! where'd they all go!? i was... dumbfounded. i looked for them a bit in the garage, but eventually gave up because there was too much junk and icky cobwebs in there. i flamed a few cobwebs but couldn't get past the junk there was in there so i went back indoors. so unfortunately there was to be no grass cutting today, if not i might have recorded things down on my camera. jason had his fill with spending time with some guy we know (well ok he knew but he introduced the guy to me as well so i know him too) and sent that guy back to Sarawak (where he came from) and stuff. i spent my day at home alone, pretty much about all there is.

how to make rosti, by yours truly. step 1: get a dirty potato the size of a monkey's brain. Posted by Picasa

step 2: wash the potato Posted by Picasa

step 2.5: and wash it cleaner until the dirt comes off... Posted by Picasa

step 3: peel the potato with a peeler. Posted by Picasa

step 3.1: peel somemore, so the white underneath is seen... Posted by Picasa

step 3.2: peel yet somemore... Posted by Picasa

step 4: display potato after peeling to camera for a gratuitous shot. Posted by Picasa

step 5: pose potato and grater on cutting board. Posted by Picasa

step 6: commence grating of potato on grater. use the cutting board as shown. Posted by Picasa

step 7: continue grating potato laboriously as demonstrated. Posted by Picasa

step 8: take inane shots in between for the camera, to demonstrate how the potato might look halfway through grating. Posted by Picasa

step 9: demonstrate, yet again, how the potato looks now, that it has been grated to an even smaller size. Posted by Picasa

step 10: allow the irritated audience a piece of mind that the potato is finally grated to its oblivion. Posted by Picasa

step 11: remove grater, leaving behind a miraculous lump of potato gratings on the cutting board, in a blocky type shape. Posted by Picasa

step 12: measure for the audience, how this blocky type shape looks like and is for real. Posted by Picasa

step 13: add salt and pepper to the mulch. Posted by Picasa

step 14: add even more salt and pepper to show we're really serious about posing those condiments on camera. Posted by Picasa

step 15: mix those gratings up a bit with a fork. on the cutting board of course. note the standard display of the used condiments off the side of the cutting board. Posted by Picasa

step 16: separate portions of potato grating in half. done because this potato was really larger than life... Posted by Picasa

step 17: display highly heated stove coil for cooking. note the red parts, as they are very hot. Posted by Picasa

step 18: replace frying pan for proper cooking, and add in olive oil for cooking. Posted by Picasa

step 19: scrape one half of the gratings on to the pan. the other half will be fried in the second half... Posted by Picasa

step 20: really scrape gratings on to frying pan after posed photo, and showing real action this time round. Posted by Picasa

step 21: flatten potato gratings on pan, using a spatula (newly bought by jason, from woolsworth, seemingly a totally unrelated piece of info here) Posted by Picasa

step 22: fry rosti in pan, prodding it occasionally to make sure it doesn't come alive. probably takes about a minute or two. Posted by Picasa
