well not quite.
the washing machine spewed washing liquid foam. a big puddle(is that even what you call it?!) on the kitchen floor.
and this was just after i woke up. at 1.40pm. *oink*
so jason and i made use of the mop yesterday to suck it up. and i decided to bare my feet and scoop up the foam into a pail by hand. and then we cleaned the whole house. jason sucked. i mopped. well alright alright. jason used the vacuum cleaner, and the broom as well. so no he didn't suck ok? XD
and we popped out to buy stuff, more groceries! the fruity market and the usual woolworths! i had on my gay-ish sleeveless top and berm-ish shorts. i've got no clue why. but i didn't feel as cold as i ought to be. well yes i did shiver slightly at the fruit market(their freezer and veg section was usually freezingly chilly) otherwise, i felt pretty alright. jason was asking me. i couldn't answer. i felt normal and not cold at all. hrmm... *ponders*
oh well. having come across a few websites, i'm so envious! take a look at PixelDam man! it's basically a website where people contribute their own ideas to build the town. they've got different suburbs (aka themes) too! but the thing is. these people are all pixel artists!!! so cool. *gush* they practically draw everything in the town. and people contribute their own art to build up that little town. well alright it's no longer little.
oh and also i found this article which i thought was neat. if only i can have one of this. A JetPod for my next birthday! but i'd need to get a license for it then... haha...
*i promise not to hurt ...*

my alias
everyone calls me Ken. should i call myself Ken at all? something silly just popped into my mind. how about if everyone calls me Kian! idea right!? but but... to save the effort, K-I-A-N i can purposely ask people to pronounce as "can" right? can? ahahaha... then i will write my name down as Kian. people will call me "key-ann".
then i will correct them in a somewhat angry tone "Please call me Ken!"
"uh... okay...Kian-pronounced-as-Ken Kian(which would then be pronounced as Ken)", would come the dumbfounded reply.
i'll consider doing that next semester. when i happen to meet people by chance. then i would write down my name K-I-A-N.
"but i thought you said your name was Ken?" the random person would query in a confused manner.
"well yes, K-I-A-N is pronounced Ken, just because i like!" i'll answer like a himbo.
oh did anyone realise PayPal was bought over by eBay? i just found out. during today's lecture. i learn all sorts of strange things everytime i attend the lectures for this subject. haha...
well anyway, the events of today other than the routine morning lecture, is that i'd been working on this presentation slides in PowerPoint for the same subject. it's something about Distributed Computing. i get to surf the web for some of the more innovative solutions that i didn't even know existed. hrmm...
we also went to Bunnings today. that huge warehouse of a tools store. we bought 3 items. don't laugh ok...
well, main highlight i'm satisfied with is that i completed the presentation slides. yay! at least i can set this one side for thursday. and i'm happy i found a design template i like on the ms office website. and i tried to make it as professional as possible. so hope everything will turn out alright for my 10mins of crapping.
i felt like i had a dream this morning before i woke. but i can't remember anything. it's 2.30am but as usual i have a habit of setting time back so it matches the concept of this day having ended before midnight.
i'm listening to all my mp3 now. i don't think i will finish anytime soon. Windows Media Player calculated 66hours or so of playback time. hurhur.

and then there was none
we had a senseless meeting today. haha. everyone was at fault somehow. we met and decided we couldn't do anything useful during the meeting. well alright we did look up some information online. it's regarding developing software processes. so anyway, the final decision was to come together again on sunday. after we do some proper homework. then we can have a proper meeting. we're in another group for another subject here. it's not that same old annual project group.
can anyone tell me what is the difference between a "Distributed Process" versus "Collaboration" these terms got me befuddled a while back. at least i *think* i got it sorted out a bit. somehow. thanks to nonsensical rubbish from YC. he'd always knew what was possibly the proper answer somehow. haha... i derived proper enlightenment under all that bullshit he said.
so anyway i'll keep this short. it's almost 3am and i've got an early lesson. friday routine.
i was working on this presentation slide (aka powerpoint) for a "seminar" next week. it basically means i have to present on my topic for 10minutes. to a small class. surprisingly, my partner was already done with his part. he emailed it to me already. gee. i'm slow. i'm impressed by his efficiency. he was handling 3 sub topics, whereas i'm working on 2. and compiling. despite his appearing to be somewhat aloof aka *simply bo chup* especially when he skips lessons (today's for example) and things like that. he seemed the lazy sort. i guess i was wrong about him. partially. haha... that's 'cos i've got a feeling he lifted everything from other places. and the textbook. =_=
ho hum... i'm doing research online and surfing like made. Google does not have everything i want. what a surprising twist of fate... Yahoo had a bit of useful stuff too! so apparently earlier on, i had over 15 tabs opened in my firefox. totally crowded. can't imagine how it would have looked like had i used Internet Explorer. my poor jammed up taskbar!
i'm almost done with one portion. so i'll leave the other after the lecture.
this is madness. the database assignments just keep coming! the assignment 4 just crept out sneakily. :(
oh and i was amazing! gosh i'm so full of myself. problem: 2 members of my group does not have a copy of the project specifications. why? because they didn't attend the lecture. and the specs is not uploaded online by the instructor yet. resolution: i just typed out 868 words. i copied the important bits of the sheet of paper into a word document. and i sent it out to them to read. how did i type? i placed the sheet of paper in front of my keyboard. and i typed without seeing the screen. haha... i just stared at the paper and typed away. XD tappity-tap-tap so happily typing! well ok, the result? i estimate 10% errors for which corrections had to be made. i love to touch type rapidly oh yes i do! *does the john travolta dance*
*i thrive on stress (more please!)*

my hair
the auntie cutting my hair asked. today, my group members asked. does it really look so unreal? it's already white to the scalp! :( my clump of white hair above my forehead is having people believe i DYED it on purpose. but it's natural! how was i suppose to know i can get white hair at this age, and specifically only at that location wor...
self reflection?
a great deal i achieved today. waking up at 10, i made the last 2 char siew baos i had in the freezer for breakfast. add a mug of cadbury hot chocolate. mmm...
we went to campus after lunch for a bit of a meeting with the project group. jason did the user manual, another 2 did the technical manual (and we still need do have more amendments/corrections to it) while i didn't have anything to report. the remaining one wrote minutes. the rest was boring.
only thing was i had an evil thought and put it into action. i purposely said out to the group, "me me, what about me? i'm free, how can i help?!" rather excitedly. so they kind of gave me a bit of directions. so why did i do that? it probably didn't appeal to anyone. rather, it was a personal joke. even jason also didn't realise. i said it so innocently! *twinkle in eye* ah yes... i did it... because of the... guy writing minutes today. that's all he's going to do for the moment! so i threw myself in and they mentioned about him doing the project website and things like that. hah! talk about giao sai aka stirring shit... bo pian i felt like i should highlight what he's suppose to be doing now. give him a bit of stress. plus... give him some spotlight ma. acknowledge his presence and duties by the group what... hehe... feeling evil about that.
oh well i'm pretty much lazy today. submitted my assignment and gotten a huge relief off my chest from that! and we left the lesson half an hour before it was meant to end. hehe... naughty naughty...
did it ever occur to anyone to look up Google and find out what they can about themselves? it was rather odd for me to. but i did it out of curiousity (and a feeling of randomness too) to find some of the links actually lead me back to my own pages. interesting... hmm... i actually searched the term "muffypoo" instead of my own name. searching "Ken Kum" would result in listings which are too horrendously embarassing... i did. and fortunately the links are of people with the same name. such as this one.
go ahead and try searching for your own name!

hrmm
i didn't do anything today. woke up miraculously early at 930am. slacked around whole day while jason popped out evening for his gathering and stuff. another day wasted haha... -sigh- public holidays are nice to waste. i think the more important focus for today was my dream. freaky but fun.
ANZAC Day, 25th April.
*boing boing*

crikey...
darn it look at the time. it's almost 4 am and i'm still up. apparently i finished my assignment at bloody long last. which is good for me. and considering i had by now compiled everything into a word document, i can heave a sigh of relief.
*BREATHES IN DEEPLY*
-commences heave-
*SIIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
that felt good.
now i shall head to bed like a docile lamb should. *bleat*
my mind is screwed up by all the database syntax.
*does greater amount of pain correlates greater amount of pleasure? hmm...*

*orgasmic*
ah yes this feels wonderful. i know i probably shouldn't have stayed up so late, but i believe even Edison couldn't get to sleep when he thinks he's getting closer to discovering how to successfully make a lightbulb work! and yes i finally got through a tough question. allow me to do a recap. the assignment has 4 questions. of which (according to jason, and i most likely concur) the 2nd question is of the toughest of them all. and certainly this took me several days (in between meals, toilet breaks, lessons, checking mail, surfing and whatnot), to solve it finally. i thought i did it last night. but apparently i failed at doing so after i realised some problem. i certainly hope i won't discover my problems to which will disappoint me further. i shall find out in the morning about that!
it's way past my bedtime and i really need sleep. -gulps- and this little laptop needs a break too. a good rest sort of break. not the other kind. *touch wood* gosh look at the time already...
*i'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes...*

Swaziland Prime Minister to visit Singapore
SINGAPORE : Swaziland's Prime Minister Absalom Themba Dlamini will make a two-day visit to Singapore from Tuesday, enroute from the Asian-African Summit in Indonesia. This will be PM Dlamini's first working visit to Singapore.
"hello, i am from Swaziland"
"oh hello! you mean you are from that country up north in Europe?"
"erm no, that's Sweden"
"sorry i meant that country where all the St Bernard dogs are??"
"no really, that one is Switzerland"
"...alright i give up. so where in the world is your country?!"
"Africa"
"oh..."

More soldiers killed by AIDS than bullets in India's northeast
SHILLONG, India : Indian defence authorities sounded a health alert with scores of soldiers engaged in anti-insurgency operations in the country's troubled northeast struck by HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. "The time has come to wake up with HIV infection among our troops assuming serious dimensions.
oh hell yeah they are DEEPLY involved in anti-insurgency operations. which explains a whole lot why they are getting HIV... can't imagine they are so hard up in the warzone that they are doing a daisy chain before dinner every night. eeww!!!

Aussie police make 2nd multimillion dollar ecstasy bust in a week
MELBOURNE, Australia: Police in Melbourne have seized 18 million dollars (14 million US) worth of the party drug ecstasy a week after announcing a world-record haul of the substance, officials said. Australian Federal Police agents arrested three men and a woman overnight Thursday after finding about 370,000 ecstasy tablets hidden in a shipment of barbecues from the Netherlands, they said.
i mean seriously, how do they know how much is it really worth? they claim it to be this price, but it's as expensive as the black market traders tag them right? surely if the substance was being targetted by the police would the people trying to bring them in not jack the price up! this is so subjective the prices shouldn't really even be announced. it's simply blown up ridiculously...

i conked out!
apparently i was into concussion last night and went to bed by 1030pm. i was staring at my assignment and trying to work on it. eventually i took a quick shower and came back. thinking i could carry on, i slipped lower and lower under the covers and decided to give up fighting the z-monster. and i finally put my work aside and went into hibernation mode.
if not for the alarm i had set to wake me up at 7am, i wouldn't have woken up in time for the lecture at 8.30am i suppose. so today is a warm and sunny day with the bright sun out and about. i shall henceforth stay indoors today to work on my assignment due next week...
ahh... the blue skies above with not a single cloud around makes me feel quixotic and totally moodless for doing productive work.
word of the day: QED (well yes it's actually three words), which although can mean among a variety of topics, refers to not just Quantum electrodynamics. i would rather look into how it is used in mathematical proofs. QED actually refers to quod erat demonstrandum, which means "that which was to be demonstrated" in latin. more information can be found on wiki and i certainly must highlight how useful wiki can actually be...
i digress... my mind seems to be wandering all over the place nowadays... i think i'm behaving incoherently.
*i do believe i am schizophrenic*

voyeurism
this is a story. the realistic kind. but rather it jumps here and there, letting the reader peek in on different aspects of the storyline from the views of varying characters. be warned though. it is based in a flash, and has at least 40 pages of scrolling. but i did find it a fascinating insight on the invasion of privacy due to technology... and the many facets of life the story encompasses.
fighting terrorism from the comfort of your home
first thing i had today was an exam. 4 questions for an hour. 10 marks each. and i dare say it was a breeze! the papers were randomised to avoid cheat cases. but otherwise i went through the questions quite sensibly i guess. hope it won't turn out too ugly when i get it back. the second lesson of the day was rather monotonous but it does has some depth...
and then we headed to get groceries! the south coast fruit market again. this time we were joined by jason's friend from church. so we bought some groceries there, which apparently was much cheaper. next we went woolworths to get yet more groceries. and the friend parted ways with us after that. we finally stopped over Wan Long aka oriental supermarket 1. we bought a 10kg pack of rice! that will last us for a while for sure...
so the main event, the exam, was over and done with. now that wasn't too bad was it? no sir it was manageable.
so what's with my topic?
have you seen all the terrorist attacks on tv/radio/news reports anywhere else? certainly you have heard of the 9-11 attack. terrorists can have motives backed by politics or region. they have brought a lot of fear the world over. and especially with this region having plenty of dense forests, they can proliferate undetected. we won't know when they might strike close to our home. or who is their next target. it can possibly be random. but we don't want to be victims do we? one of the ways these groups share information on producing lethal concoctions to achieve their aim is via the internet. by setting up a website, they can achieve the aim of making their knowledge and influence available to their companions elsewhere on the globe.
would you like to help stem these sources of information?
no, it is not necessary for you to acquire skills that would involve compromising network security and whatnot. there is always the legal route. beliefs that can lead to inflicting harm on innocent lives should not exist, especially not on the internet, despite the talk about free speech. a voluntary organisation that runs on donations is currently doing this. well of course they are in the states, but there aren't issues with nationality on the internet.
are there any responsible citizens of the world around here?
*one fries, coke and a MacXP to go please*

woohoo grades are alright
WARNING: long post ahead!
finally got started on my next assignment properly. don't seem too tough on the surface. that's the worrying part.
on the same subject, i had lab (of which is the only lesson for tuesdays now) in the afternoon and got back my paper for the previous assignment! wow amazingly i got 1.8 upon 2.5.... uh yes they decided to count it in miniscule unworthy decimal pointed marks. i had zero for the last question. why? because i didn't follow the instructions and supposedly left out a portion which leads to ZERO. -sigh- and i went through the assignment question paper again. and i showed it to the lecturer aka lab tutor. he gave chance of course... because the "instruction" was not specific enough for this question to require such a step (testing after implementation) to be done. because the previous question spelt out testing was required! and this question did not. hmph! so i argued on that point and he relented. well alright he's more of the assistant lecturer so he's easier to talk to. the main lecturer is out of town apparently. so yes instead of 1.8 i got an additional 0.3 marks. miserable amount but hey every drop counts! so this is my sneaky underhanded 2.1 upon 2.5 marks. oh alright this is probably a confession of my dirty deed.
in any case, i hope big time that the test tomorrow will not kill me outright(they usually do it very painfully and slowly so that i can have time to bleed to death). there will be things in the question paper (4 questions only) that will make me very uncomfortable.
on the philosophical side, i've been thinking a lot about life, and interpersonal behaviours lately. does life really equate to the number 42? life seems a constant iterative process. similar to software development life cycles. you have to plan what to do, check with external figures. then when you set out to do what you are doing daily, you will get hiccups along the way. there will be feedback from other people about what you do. they might tell you what you should and shouldn't do. some suggest things you MIGHT (or not) be able to do. and some that you can do but is up to you. you may get this often in a day, sometimes not at all. and at the end of it you come back to yourself before resting and the brain starts taking all of these ideas and mixing it in the big bowl of ideas. everything gets meshed up to produce (hopefully) better results. and the supposedly better results gets tested out the next day. this goes on until the end of the road... so probably yes some goals need to be set in life. goals meant to improve ourselves. to better our personality. but the resultant is the driving force of improving oneself. have you ever written down in black and white what your goal in life is yet? if you can write it down, then you probably can look at it every now and then to realign your current activities to work towards that goal(s). i don't suppose it would hurt to take a short few minutes to just think about it right? what do you wish to achieve in life?
personality is a very individualistic trait of a human being. everyone has a different personality. that is what makes everyone unique. we're not robots for that. i don't think anyone is perfect. it is in my opinion the rule of life that, there has to be a flaw in everyone's character. just like the reason why there are so many systems of governing, that basically boils down to, you can't please everybody. there has to be a fluke somewhere. just like Neo in the Matrix trilogies. he was said to be a fluke in the system of the machines. i digressed. anyway, not everyone can see eye to eye. everyone can be envious of others. even the rich and famous. one might be envious of say, Julia Roberts. she is an actress, she is famous, rich, and ravishing(somehow). that makes people admire the status. but certainly, i dare say she would be envious of other people. who you might wonder? to her, acting is but a career. and it probably has its own ups and downs too. so i don't see why she doesn't envy a carefree ranch owner living in the outskirts of Texas. the list can go on indefinitely. in short, you can disagree with me, but everyone envies everyone else. the saying goes, "the pastures are greener across the river". so can we resolve the situation? there is no maybe. if the situation can be solved (i.e.: achieving the greener pasture for oneself) then one might develop a plan to achieve it. and work towards it until one reaches the greener pasture. the other direction can be, no it cannot be resolved. or, no the person does not wish to achieve the greener pasture. in that case, if nothing is to be solved, there need not be a case for envy. like somebody i knew mentioned from somewhere else, and i quote, "if something can be solved, why worry? if you cannot do anything about solving it, why worry?"
i guess... one of the goals of life should be to keep oneself happy. maybe in achieving a carefree life can that be possible. if happiness is the greener pasture, i guess we can bite into the bitter life to try and wait for the sweet aftertaste of "happiness". once we are done chewing for the most parts.
*happiness is just around the corner. let us all enjoy the process of finding it.*
finally got started on my next assignment properly. don't seem too tough on the surface. that's the worrying part.
on the same subject, i had lab (of which is the only lesson for tuesdays now) in the afternoon and got back my paper for the previous assignment! wow amazingly i got 1.8 upon 2.5.... uh yes they decided to count it in miniscule unworthy decimal pointed marks. i had zero for the last question. why? because i didn't follow the instructions and supposedly left out a portion which leads to ZERO. -sigh- and i went through the assignment question paper again. and i showed it to the lecturer aka lab tutor. he gave chance of course... because the "instruction" was not specific enough for this question to require such a step (testing after implementation) to be done. because the previous question spelt out testing was required! and this question did not. hmph! so i argued on that point and he relented. well alright he's more of the assistant lecturer so he's easier to talk to. the main lecturer is out of town apparently. so yes instead of 1.8 i got an additional 0.3 marks. miserable amount but hey every drop counts! so this is my sneaky underhanded 2.1 upon 2.5 marks. oh alright this is probably a confession of my dirty deed.
in any case, i hope big time that the test tomorrow will not kill me outright(they usually do it very painfully and slowly so that i can have time to bleed to death). there will be things in the question paper (4 questions only) that will make me very uncomfortable.

effort vs credit (aka Well done! *pat on the back*)
well yes i downloaded a whole bunch of sneaky stuff of questionable origins on limewire and installed Mac OS X on my weeny XP. hey they're all X's anyway. and i managed to get its networking feature enabled finally! (well yes i know i'm supposed to be working on the homework assignments we've been given...)
so i woke at 9 in the morning (strangely early for a monday) and made myself a cappucino. and i didn't feel sleepy the whole day after that. which was amazing... i should do it more often. and i headed to school for lessons.
there was a meeting with the project "client" in the afternoon at some obscure meeting room at the back corner of some building. which was peaceful enough, if not for the copier/printer machine in next door. and we had our meeting rather... awkwardly. don't know why but it sure felt awkward. and this one group member of ours... don't suppose i can get any suggestions to handle him here but this is the situation:
he did a "technical manual" 2weeks after getting into forming the group. he did this all on his own. impressive? he said he had been working on it for the past months. gee, you mean i wasn't even in australia and you started on that already? wow. he sent the email out to the group and we opened it to take a look. oh wow. reminds us of notes for a particular subject! amazing. but unfortunately these are 80% irrelevant. only a small portion is actually useful under the context of a "Technical Manual". jason and i agreed on that point for sure.
so the problem is, he wanted to claim credit for that piece of work (in fear of us not acknowledging his efforts) which in our belief is... wrong. the quality of that piece of effort does not seem to be worth the attention. how do we tell him nicely that the work he had done was unfortunately wasted because it is irrelevant, and that he need not bother claiming credit for his work because it don't seem to be of acceptable quality?
ho hum... please let me know if you have any suggestions. he's already miffed about today... and other factors include him... staying in sydney hence travels for long distances to campus almost daily. he is in his early thirties. he is the only other "chinese"(one thai, another czech) from hongkong. his english isn't that good.

hair cut day!
jason dug me up at 10am! well because i asked for it. we're heading to the barber! yes, the barber in the oriental grocery store. business was brisk for the barber-lady boss today. there was a queue in front and behind of us.
lunch was late. lunch was like almost 2pm++. lunch was fried rice. lunch was fried by me. one of those rare days...
and i've been home since! hair was short and neat and comfortable!
i haven't been doing anything productive yay!
and i made some make-shift dinner for myself after jason went to church. a basket of oven-baked bbq sauce-marinated chicken wing portions. and i ate it all up with dashes of tabasco sauce. not bad i must say. the semi-lazy way of getting food.
101% laziness - not eating
100% lazy - eat fastfood
90% lazy - instant noodles
80% - instant noodles with side dishes
50% - throwing some food bought from the supermarket into the oven
and so on...

weekend is here again!
ooh yeah it's weekend once again. the main event was probably a trip to the vegetable market. we drove around and found it. then we got ourselves a parking lot. then we bought quite a bit of stuff! shall upload after this... and the stuff here are loads cheaper than woolworths man! so we bought happily... and i paid. and we got back home with them new purchases.
i've got some new assignments so lets see what i can list out as the new tasks at hand:
*everyday in and out! oh yeah oh yeah!*

days of sedation. is there even such a word?!
amazingly i woke up 730 and had breakfast and all. and i still ended up LATE for lecture! how so? i went to settle my business in the little men's room. and was slightly late.
subsequently was a meeting with the project group. can't blame them for trying to come up with something nice for the project site interface. but they were horrible. looked like how i would have done it 10years ago! ah but we couldn't bring ourselves to denying them their proud moment of showing us their works. or shooting it down like it's not worth anything (which i do believe really isn't)...
i think i got home and concussed again eventually. i probably knocked out for over 2 hours or so. and then we made dinner. and jason popped out once again to his religious activities which i shall not question.
on a separate note, i shall just comment that he had recently been curious about other religions. and being from a secondary school that was associated with the singapore buddhist federation, i was subjected to curious queries regarding various aspects of that said related religion. and i used 2years' worth of knowledge gained on the subject matter to fend off his questions despite me not being all that religious. i'm sure we could end up in a major debate had i been involved in any religion in particular, religiously.
ah sod it. my answers had been limited in scope anyway.
other than the ranting, i'm pretty much sedated by the nap. and i'm trying to be productive. the third assignment for database is out and i'll have to start scrambling for it soon. after that little test we'll be getting next wednesday. *faints*
oh and finally i'd stamped my foot down hard *Ow!* and booked my airticket back home for the school holiday. i'll be in sg between 19jun and 14jul. thursday. apparently 15jul friday costs AUD 847, where as 14jul thursday costs AUD 833. i think it's a peak/weekend thing. so i chose the 14jul option.
*further studies biased to be in sg*

so what did i do today?
nothing?
well alright, i woke up at 10 surprisingly. i wasn't sure what i did but i suppose it was to maintain my laptop stuff. and lunch. and a bit more slacking before heading off to tutorial.
tutorial was an hour of writing. i wrote a whole bunch of stuff which i was rather unsure what exactly was about. and i got back 2 of my previous other sets of bullshit. 3/5 and 4/5 each. whoah. LIKE THAT ALSO CAN AH. this is IACT302. people around here (in uni) say IACT subjects are relax ones. i guess it's true. it consists of subjects meant for you to talk your way through. bullshitting with justification. wow that is so "manageMENTAL".
well alright i've compiled a CD collection of web development tools for the guys in our project team. jason and i are dying to see how one of the guys can come up with brilliant looking websites just-because-we-are-using-an-IDE-for-that duh... oh by the way, an IDE means Integrated Development Environment. allow me to refresh your memory from my previous blog post. they are under the impression that we are able to come up with wonderful website designs BECAUSE we HAVE these amazing tools! oh wow! it's as amazing as I-can't-believe-this-is-not-butter!
ho hum. we shall see. i hope i'm doing a good deed. apparently a member from our another project group for a different subject has decided to drop out due to personal issues. how unfortunate. we shall die in our own pool of blood if we need any assistance because of this manpower shortfall. well at least she informed us!

stoned day
9am: woke up
9.30am: woke up again
9.45am: bread for breakfast
10.15am: go school
10.30am: reach lecture
10.31am: lecture commences
10.36am: begin dozing off at 10mins intervals
12.30pm: woke up and finish lecture
then i grab some chips for lunch at the unibar and joined jason in the lab. there was a lady singing with her guitar on stage. if it were something better i probably would have stayed.
1.30pm: lecture again
1.40pm: begin round 2 of dozing off at 10mins interval
2.30pm: 5mins toilet break
3.30pm: go home!
4pm: CONCUS (well yes i have finally reached the main highlight of today)
basically i slept 2hrs after coming home in the afternoon. jason had to wake me and we cooked dinner then.
something's wrong with me i'm getting tired just like that. *snaps fingers* and my brain feels dead. no juice!

there goes another assignment
i mean i'm done with one. not one on it's way.
yes alright! it's due on monday and i handed it in just. just? yes just. it's an online submission. and i exceeded the 750 word limit. gee i hope i don't get penalised. ho hum.
but yes i'm happy that it's settled with. now on to other stuff!
and yes today we went to woolworths. i got myself a pair of nifty gloves! gloves gloves i say! dishwashing gloves. for me. to wash the dishes. because jason does the cooking. because my hands will get itchy blisters otherwise. and i don't like itchy blisters.
and so i happily washed the dishes wearing the gloves.
sure reminds me of the good old days. i used to have to wear a pair of michael jackson white cotton gloves. then black latex(or whatever military-strength material) ones over them. all this, after i put on some thick clothing that i can hardly breath through. sometimes in the hot daytime. and if i'm lucky, i can forget about the thick clothing and go into a fully encapsulated suit which people have to help zip me in. breathing through a regulated air tank, i will then walk around not unlike a teletubby. i can only peer out of the suit through a 15" visor in front of my face. the full set of the costume includes a set of dishwashing gloves on the outside of this suit.
ooh oops... that was too much information for anyone.
well i'm satisfied today for once.
*love is in the air... -cough cough-...it's all -cough- around us...*

gmail anyone?
apparently somebody came up with a clever idea. and this idea is great for those of you who has a GMail account. it's basically a shell extension to WinXP so you can use gmail as if it were another online harddisk. you can upload files to store in your gmail! ok so i already downloaded it. it's working fine. so go get it.
the technical details is basically the little program converts the file u wish to upload into an email and sends it over. and the file will end up showing in your gmail as an attachment! the subject begins with GMAILFS so you will know where it is if you do a search in your mail. or label it also can.
i know they had it up for months already but i just found it. so sad nobody told me about it! so those who said they have been using it for months should not whine that it is old news! :) well ok here's the downside: each file can be at most 10MB. this is the restriction set by google on the email file attachments.
and there we have it, ladies and gentlemen, another 2gigabytes of storage online thanks to google. feel free to drop me a message if you want to get gmail. i've got 40+ invites!

the mechs are coming...
yes check out the link on the title. it's called the Land Walker. not very creative but...
these guys in japan(apparently, by the look of the url) have managed to build a mechanical robot. for those who enjoy Gundam or have played Mech Warrior, this must be one of their wildest dreams come true!
what these guys constructed is a bipod suit twice the height of the average human. it is seated by one pilot (driver/captain... or whatever you wish to call the person) in the main hull of the vehicle. the hatch closes top down from the front. it is able to turn 360 (albeit in a clumsy fashion). the two legs alternate in movements to proceed forward or backwards. the operator controls this with the 4 pedals in his cabin. also in the cabin are 2 controllers by hand. both left and right of the cabin are 2 weapons controlled by these joysticks in the cabin. of course they only fire out soft balls, for demonstration.
well ok the down side? it moves real slowly. as shown in their video. and finally of course. i didn't mention this too... it's on rollers. the 2 legs alternate movement but they stay grounded all the time. nothing is lifted off the ground! unfortunately.
alright. enough of this. go check it out!

hang loose monday
yup i'm an msn whore. some dumb test. and today was a normal day. regular dosage of slacking. and i came across this (now dead) rabbit pretty much thanks to shan. and i think i'm getting some sort of allergic reaction on my hands. the palms are getting itchy blisters and the sides of my fingers too. well it's not that bad don't picture it that way. but it's annoyingly itchy at times. so i just burst them that's all. i wonder if it's the dishwashing liquid...

buggeration
main event of the day: grass cutting! we took a bloody 3.5hours in the afternoon to finish both front lawn and the backyard! and... in the process saw a lot of icky insects. and also stirred up some in their slumber. yucks. gross. white grub things. gray leggy crawlies. but we killed the things we saw were moving. and i poured water to boil the white grubby things. and some earthworms. and the grass was still very long. but we managed to reclaim most of our land from the weeds. jason was busy pulling up loads of that.
ah well, after the battle field was done with, i sprayed weed killer around and hope it'll come into effect in 2 weeks.
other than that. i was mulling around pretty much the whole day.
*me me me!!!*

i know this is dumb but...
this is for me to use in msn messenger.

nah i know that one sucked. that's worse than
or even
was much better.
so i decided not to use my own face anymore. i came up with this instead.
.
.
.

not too bad eh? unfortunately i'd have to request the model release form from my brother because that's my nephew. hahaha... nah i'm kidding. it's not for commercial use so there's no need for that bullshit.

here we go again?
have everyone been to mess yet? scroll to the bottom of the page and find out more. the display pictures can be dynamic. aka DDP, dynamic display picture. go find out how to get yrs. it's not really legal but everyone's doing it! i'm joining in, hehe...
having woke up around 1.30pm, i feel out of sorts. my mind is empty, blank, void, stoned. sleeping at odd hours screws up your mind i believe. maybe i'll sleep early tonight. i'm in some sort of a moody, bitchy, pissy attitude mode now. well yes, do correct me if i'm not supposed to be bitchy. erm, doggy? dodgy? whatever. moodswing is here again i suppose. biorhythm down. hey maybe this is my version of the pms. only not as messy nor agonising. just very highly pissed up.
will try to get some work done. just hope i don't fall asleep doing it too soon. beginning to feel like a hermit. i think i'm making myself this way. my streaks of anti-socialism is showing again. and i think i should stop being plugged in 24/7.
in fact i do feel like going for a drive. driving around aimlessly. but a) not nice to drive around alone and leave jason behind, b) not that familiar with this place, c) petrol costs, d) the car isn't too powerful and might die on me easily. i miss my car. miss driving aimlessly from PIE to ECP to SLE to KJE to CTE... and to CBD.
how does one get work from the internet? anyone got a clue? really feel like going out there to start making money. this sucks. studying sucks. oh ok soon enough people will be telling me working sucks more. schooling prepares people for the real world. which sucks just as much if not more.
i don't care if my post has no structure really. i pretty much know i'm typing nonsense and not making sense. this is a real sad case, really.

the day of the bouncing heads
dragged myself up for early lecture this morning... then meeting was an hour after that. first session with the supervisor took an hour! gee and to think i didn't expect we have much to talk about. then after that was another hour in the library meeting room. and i got home to do my work.
i would now like to rant and complain. why oh why did we get these group members. we kind of deserved it for rushing into it. first off the minutes sucked. i mean, we did most of the typing! well alright, jason did most of the typing. primarily because despite us having a meeting to talk about the format for the minutes, some of them went to do different things, change colors... for what right? don't they know what is "standardisation" called? another thing about them was that their english sucked. try to use profound words inappropriately. including mundane items in the minutes. not following structure of minutes. apparently they haven't been going through communication skill lessons of any sort. who would list down the summary of an agenda without going through the details of the agenda topics? redundant man!
and we had decided to come up with a different web page design each for the client. we encouraged them to try even though they weren't experienced in this. they did. except we had miscommunication. at least it was on their part. the big picture was we needed 2 websites: one for the main gist of the project for the client, another for the project website to be used as presentation and grading. they had misinterpreted the requirements to be one single site. result? they designed a crappy 3 page(we asked for 3 pages) site that mixes things from the main site and the project site. all in all, it sucked. all 3 of them sucked. we just smiled and played along. one of them was under the impression that we were able to use integrated development environments to create nice looking designs for us. he thought we didn't have to rack our brains or get inspiration to do the work. the program does it all for us! wow if only...
oh well. we'll play along for now. so anyway that aside, i'm done ranting for now. i managed to finish off the bloody assignment! yes at last! and got it printed out as well too! so amazing. a simple assignment(i suppose so) that has 6 tasks amounts up to 22 pages of content! how bizarre!
so yes i'm done with one big portion and happy for a while. so to celebrate, let's all bob our heads up and down and up and down repeatedly to signify this uplifting occasion! TADA!

alright let's do it one more time!!! ENCORE!!!

now you know why i put that title. :P oh yes MSN Messenger 7.0 is officially out. no more beta!

rush to wait, wait to rush
at least i woke up in the morning today. started off doing my assignment from 11 and we made lunch after jason came home from lesson. and then it's back to work work work... doing my homework... slaving away... toiling away... ho hum, i had my sweet before the bitter.
the usual, lesson at 3.30pm, but today we waited 20mins or so for tutor to show up. then he formed us into groups to have discussion for some read-up. he timed everything so bloody quickly that i, being the one to make my group's sales pitch the other group, was hemming and hawing about how good our point was. it was so unreal everyone hardly put in much effort haha...
jason picked me up and we headed to woolworths. well i must say i pretty much controlled myself not to buy as much snacks anymore... then we headed home and had steak for dinner.
and then, it's once again back to my homework. i must say i'm almost done. the Oracle database services can take a rest now that i've settled the most part. what's left are typing out of crappy text rubbish for justification and stuff.
i hope i can take a breather after monday. at least if i'm done with this asap i'll be more relaxed! of course, next comes the 750 word essay deadline, and a seminar topic that i'll have to present on. just have to keep on going!
*don't worry, be happy, oooh ooh-ooh ooh-ooh ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooh...*

another long day
ah... i woke up to a loud thud. i thought jason kicked my door to wake me, but apparently he didn't do that. so i must have been dreaming.
school wasn't fantastic. but i was skiving and started downloading this Mandrake Linux ISO cd images off the school FTP server. it took me around 20mins to download 2gigabytes or so of data! this was my desktop when i was in school. each download were at least 500Kbps or more at times! and i'm on wireless B/G!!! so amazing...
oh and i'm finally satisfied with my two diagrams for an assignment. but apparently jason is done with his and it's nicely stapled. -sigh- really should wake up earlier. XD
in the meantime, i shall try my best to work on the remaining tasks.
*need to find balance wor*
