final checkup

yay i popped over TTSH today. my appt was at 1.30pm. had i reached the machine earlier, i'd have gotten ahead of 2 elderly person. they were a couple but each took a number for their own appointment. otherwise, i was the 3rd patient for the afternoon. which is good. since the doctor and staff would have had their lunch and still have the energy to do their job without feeling lethargic and sleepy. XD today was slightly more expensive. $118... they did extra tests other than the usual optometrist routine of the alphabets and numbers. they did an orbscan on me. i had to stare at a block of concentric circles with glowing orange light and a blinking green LED at the center. and i had to not blink for 5secs. next a machine puffed air to check my eye pressure while i stared at its green blinking light. erm yes, they are 2 different machines. well the doc said i'm fine. i can still see better than an average person. heh...

i'm in limbo now so kinda speechless of late... and people all over are all ignoring me or something like that. as if i'm really going to disappear into non-existence... i guess after i fly off, i'll be forgotten. jus hope rachel shan lynn and the many ppl i know don't forget me. not too soon...

*nervous? damn right i am*

cooking for dummies

i dunno how to cook. so i learn from my maid. dun laff k... i learn really simple stuff! it's challenging for a guy that dunno how to cook at all wor. ok lah i know how to 煮饭 quite literally. yes i know how to cook rice. XD

and instant noodles of course. boil water and place the noodle in 3mins or so that's it. heck i heard this on tv but can somebody verify for me? to cook instant spaghetti, you are supposed to boil it in water for 7mins, then cold water for 7mins. is that it? sounds too good to be true hahaha...

eggs sunny-side-ups i learnt from my maid... pour about a tablespoon of oil in a wok/pan and let it crackle a bit. then crack the egg out of its shell into the frying pan/wok(i think more of frying pan than wok cos not easy to get in australia) and let it fry a while before flipping it over and continue frying... then scoop it out of the pan and on to a plate plus pour some soya sauce over it. right? gee i hope i got the procedure correct. i didn't exactly go through home econs you know.

steamed egg mmm yes i love steamed egg! to simplify things, it's supposedly one part egg, one part water. 2 eggs crack into a bowl, pour in a teaspoon of light soya sauce and pepper, whip until some bubbles on the surface. takes about 30secs to 1min... prepare another bowl with a dash of salt in it. pour the egg mixture over into this bowl and fill the first bowl with water 120% of the eggs (i'd call it "water level of the eggs" but it dun make sense really, and neither does "egg level"). next, whip the egg mixture a short while more, and prepare a pot with 3cm depth of boiling water in it, and a stand for the bowl of egg mixture to be in. place the bowl of egg mixture into the pot and adjust it to medium to small fire(uh or would you call it gas?) and leave it for about 10mins. monitor once in a while to check the surface of the egg mixture is hardened, with a fork. when it's done, the stemed egg should have the same consistency of toufu. wobbly wobbly... but can poke in. then when it is done, take the bowl of steamed egg out and pour a tablespoon of light soya sauce over it. and that's that.

finally!!!

yes!!! my payment... i'm finally paid! my work back with i²r? i got my dues from them at last... oh i think they got erh 20% of it to CPF so i'm left with a bit lesser. oh well just glad that had been settled! i'm already burning a hole in my pocket. muahaha... at least i didn't have to wait until next week or something. i called them up and the lady said they'll try their best end of this month. i had to act a bit desperate for money so that she would do something about it. these kinda ppl is abit wad wan lah... if u sound like dun need money they slowly process it. @#$% ok now i'm happy. yay!

*i have no ending one-liners today*

receipt clearing day

i was busy today. nothing much. but... i decided to clear most of the receipts i kept away. they were all in a drawer of mine. to have a huge pile of receipts occupy one drawer is ridiculous hence my mum was nagging at me to sort them out and clear away the unnecessary ones.

haha quite a pile... considering i accumulated them since poly yr1... 1999? or longer...

idd?

did u noe? starhub's hotline for their IDD is 1800-CALL-IDD.
in numerical terms it's 1800-2255-433.

if u noticed, the alphabets correspond to the numbers as you would press when u sms. 'C' and 'A' categorised under the button for "2" and so on... pretty neat huh? i tried to play around with my hp number to get something like that. but i realised most of our numbers can't. why not? well think about it. if your phone number includes at least a 1 or 0, that's pretty much a deadend. since one and zero dun represent any alphabets like 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 & 9. i dun tink ppl like to have blanks(zeroes) or 1s in their "catchy" phone number phrase like MUFFYPOO might probably be a phone number like 6833 9766. which is a land line... if you get my drift. mine... i can't think of any. it's like T100-1N0D... which doesn't make any sense, try as i might... try yrs and see if you can make something catchy to remember yr number by. quite a challenge... especially if yr number has ones and zeroes in it.

oh i digressed. idd. yes, my home land line is now registered with starhub idd 018. i called them abt a week back. the lady over the phone said we were supposed to wait for a form by mail, fill it up and fax it along with a copy of my dad's ic. the mail came 2days ago. but it didn't require us to do anything. so i had to call them up today to see if it was really activated for us yet... i called 1633.

"i'm sorry but we don't have information on that."

"but the lady i talked to last week about it told me about this and that..."

"i'm sorry but we don't have information on that."

"oh ok nevermind then."

"how about if you call up 1800-2255-433, also known as 1800-CALL-IDD."

"ok thanks..."

of course i summarised the conversation. but their service is rather limited. so i had to call up the toll-free interesting number to check. well yes they had activated the line for us. so there. and my dad wanted to know how to suspend/reactivate the line when they go out(they heard scary stories about maids chalking up hefty phone bills calling home) even though our maid doesn't even realise we had activated our idd. apparently in order to suspend/reactivate the service, it takes 1hour everytime, although it's FOC. so ladida. i'd done my part. and don't forget the number to dial is, 1800-CALL-IDD.

*new! toilet man brand! XD*

not happy

woke up 830 this morning, unhappiness ensued. sent grandma to bank+hospital at 1pm. with dad and maid tagging along of course. i was just the chauffeur. unhappiness continued. i took a nap in the afternoon. unhappiness thus far. i am hence lacking in joy. donations are welcome.

i incurred mummy's wrath by locking my bedroom door.

felt like dying the moment i woke up.

*barely ate anything today*

unmistakably

from obscure channels of cash inflow, i have received an early 红包 from my auntie. the largest amount i've received thus far, $200 was unmistakably a small windfall on my part. and i've received news from Silk that, the payment has been approved on our little evil plot to pool our clicks together somewhere online to gain a considerable amount for each person that has a foot in it. i'm expecting my share to be S$40 or below. of course more is better. but we shall see when it arrives. by then i'd have been in aussie.

*money _does_ brighten up my day*

unsaid

i won't be in town soon.

i've got places to go, people to meet, lessons to learn, horizons to explore, skills to acquire, experience to gain.

some things i do, some things i don't do, some things i didn't do, some things i won't do.

for everything i'd done in the past which might offend anybody in the future, my sincere apologies to all.

and then, i suppose some things, should be left unsaid.

some things seemingly,
are foolishly done,
which come with reasons,
unbeknownst to everyone.

touché

let's see if i can come off as slick and cool here. i presumably don't have that built in me but i'll try. i'm feeling mellow today. melancholic somewhat. you can say, in other words, that my biorhythm is possibly on the down.

what is biorhythm, you may ask. it is not a difficult word. affixing the rhythm, a constant beat, with a biological reference. the heartbeat, you say? i suppose it refers to more than just the audible ticking of the living body. it should be by all means on a psychological plane. how a person can feel on a daily basis. i have read, that biorhythm, comes as a constant sine wave. it fluctuates very much like the ocean levels that follow the seasons of the moon. the rhythm has its ups and downs. meaning a person can feel like a millionaire one day, and a pauper the next day. because of his biorhythm. i do suppose it behaves like the stock exchange. how are you feeling today?

the following is an encoded message for the secret agents of my blog.
= commence message =
i like to hold my extra gear and hush puppies. slap slap slap.
= end of message =

it has come to my attention, that everyone has been real busy of late. i certainly hope, in my absence, everyone's still meeting everyone, minus the convenience of my vehicle and the lame presence of yours truly. maybe some can take a picture of your meal out with some others and send them to me. an e-postcard perhaps?

i must say i'm probably tired from the wait. it really is killing me to feel the anticipation. ready to fly. but not ready to depart. leaving behind all that is dear. leave behind my family. leave behind my friends. leave behind my gorilla. leave behind my computers. leave behind someone special.

don't suppose i deserve a shot in the head... somethings come with reason. some are on the gray. somethings don't need a reason at all.

bored shitless?

hrmm today was another uneventful day. other than the dream i had before waking, nothing interesting really happened. well i did catch the premier episode of the "Desperate Housewives" on ch5. guess that was the highlight of the evening. that show. and probably this too.

hahaha... surprise rach! muahaha... yeah got bored n decided the clones of my gorilla should do the trick. looks abit raw but the idea is there... XD

Sunday, January 23, 2005

i like to play...

i do tinkle with photoshop. i started back in sec sch. i am as bored shitless now as i was back then. and thanks to the BTL i recently went to dig out old works and tried my hand at a new one. criticise and laugh at my antics. enjoy

FooT Junction

haha yes i've gotten critique that the lamp posts are kinda in the way. hey it's my foot! and it's in the middle of a junction! haha...

Hercuken

this was done about the same time as the foot junction and it allows me to demonstrate my immense strength and ability to lift up a garbage truck. the cheesy part is me in my ridiculously short shorts and the tyres are slightly off.

Secret Place

i saw something similar on a website somewhere. and i decided to do a local version. yes it looks somewhat too ridiculous i feel.

Much to do about nothing

i just got to get this done with inspiration from BTL! she had one of herself too... and it was neat. i know mine is weak compared to hers. but it was fun getting the angles correct and stuff!

the tv

ho hum... nvm abt the Benq. i went hunting for the tv with my parents just now. and they hopped over to SAFE superstore in geylang and bought the Palladine 42" model plasma tv. it was going for $3088, inclusive of accessories like stand and free installation. $30 for the delivery.

the Sound & Audio House within walking distance was selling it for $2799. plus $199 for the wall mounting bracket and installation. delivery was free. they had set the contrast of that brand higher such that the red flickers more than other brands on display(the model on display at SAFE did not flicker at all). go figure.

i must agree with their views. when we purchase huge/expensive electrical home appliances, we should approach the bigger retailers. even for companies such as Gain City seems to resort to underhanded means to lure people.

bummer

i went tv hunting with my family today. picked my sis from work and we headed to haig road for lunch. hehe i had prata. the guy thought i ordered 2 egg 2 kosong for 2 person and put them in separate plates. we went housewarming in queenstown. the relative we bought the microwave oven for. 27th floor so high!!! windy too... =_=

=_= and we headed to Gain City. the salesman from the prev time we came was still there. and the moment we asked about the Palladine brand, he commented on it until it wasn't worth a cent to buy. so why bother putting it on sale?! my parents left after a while, dissatisfied at the guy. we headed to hougang mall for some coffee. and popped over harvey norman for a look. they are now interested in the Benq DV3080 model. =_=

anything else?!

i'm pondering real hard. what else do i need to bring over?! i should probably make a list and see what is missing. but if i list out what i have in the luggage, how would i know what i *didn't* think of? well you guys help me keep a look out how about that? so i'll just list out what's currently packed in my little cream colored luggage...
  • tshirts - about 10
  • long sleeved tshirts - about 4
  • short sleeved shirt - 1
  • sweaters - 4
  • scarf - 1
  • jeans - 3
  • cargo pants - 1
  • cold weather pants - 1
  • towels - 2
  • formal attire set (tie+longsleeved+pants+belt) - 1
  • tie clips
  • socks - 8 pairs
  • underwear - uh... enough.
  • shorts/berms - about 6
  • gloves - 2 pairs
  • power strip extension (SGP) - 1
  • first aid (po chai pills, panadol, flu, handyplast, mopiko)
  • digestive biscuits - 2 packets
  • instant noodles - 15
  • mug+multitool w/ fork+spoon
  • scissors, penknife, nailclipper
  • shampoo, liquid soap

that's just the clothings. i'm not started on the electrical equipment. my mum told me to pack a set of bedsheets too. i'll do that...but maybe later zzz... oh yes i still have 2 pairs of shoes(wear 1 pair on board lah) and sandals! X_x

we bought a microwave oven today. it's for our relative's housewarming of sorts. we saw it at harvey norman for $109. mummy and i didn't liked the $99 ones. but this was the last of it's kind and we got the display set. dammit they had little scratches on the surface despite their protective layer. but we bought it anyway. i signed with my card. XD my parents wanted me to practise more. they scared my signature sucks big time. oh and i paid petrol with it too. OCBC bank credit cards get more discount at SPC petrol kiosks. over the usual on display.

oxymoron term of the day: non-lethal weapon.

people just meet up once in a while for no apparent reason?

i'll make it brief. cos i just typed some naggy post but the blogger server crashed on me and i didn't back it up before sending.

met up for pool in tampines at the pavillion today. with SiEyEs, fu`died, A5tr0, lindie, ra`ch, littles. and this fella Alvin` that nobody really knows. being the noob i got thrashed by everyone including myself. i got the black ball in and closed the game real quick more than once. =_= ok and btw it's littles birthday tmr. happy birthday! we got her a cake with candles and she blew it out plus we took photos. erm we didn't eat it haha... and then we split before JediSkull could reach us. XD

evening came and i met CA plus gorli (yes him again) and ra`ch at EP. plus kj and bert who pop out from their advanced driving theory test in ubi. stone at starbucks and usual talk cock sing song(TCSS) with them...

*i wish i don't change for the worse after returning from aussie: autopilot engaged*

2 quests ended

okae i did some running around today. first off i got the cash part done. i'd gotten AUD 2000 for SGD 2500. damn so exp! and to think my dad mistakenly queued at an OCBC bank only to realise a bankbook is required for his withdrawal(we didn't bring it) and the lady was kind enough to suggest getting for him an ATM card. ok so we headed to their ATM machine to get our money. and i guided daddy on how to use the machine. and the money changer was next. we figured it's cheaper(yea by about 30cents) than at the bank. bank exchange rate: 1.247, money changer rate: 1.25. but bank charges $5 admin fee. so they add up to about the same. bleah...

*quest Aussie-Cash completed*

next was the rechargeable batteries. i popped down suntec carrefoure. they have loads of stuff so i thought it easiest to check things out from there. wow wad a variety i saw. sanyo... GP... unknown brand... duracell... energizer... so many choices! so in the end i settled for Energizer. they are better known for quality cells. and their charger came with 4x rechargeable "AA" batteries that come at 2500mAh! eh... even GP batteries come at 2100mAh max currently... so 2500 is somehow better... it's meant for high-powered devices such as digicams and mp3 players. and so i got that with another 2 "AAA" rechargeable Energizer batteries. it came to a fugging $77.40 for that!!! =_= oh well it's suppose to save me money in the long run. certainly hope it does!

*quest Rechargeable-Batteries completed*

hahaha really feels like a game. and come feb 6th i'm going to meet the king at the end of the battle. the Z monster on board SQ221. and then i'll move on the stage 3! muahaha XD

*thank you, please come again*

my home internet connection?

new issue. on top of the rechargeable batteries i'm hunting for. my parents are considering to drop the Maxonline1500 we have currently. (they also wish to reduce the cable tv groups to the minimum too...) after i fly off... since the maxonline expires on 5th Feb(i fly on the 6th damn it!)

after some consideration about the singtel jetpack(be it the 30hrs free or 200MB free) options, they decided to settle for the Maxonline Flexisurf. jetpack requires $42 registration fee. and we buy our own ADSL modem, costs about $80+ or more from Sim Lim Sq. ok the Flexisurf scheme's a bit dumb. but seems ok for our case.

we have already paid for our cable modem. we own it. so if we don't use it we loogi also. cos otherwise after the term expires it'll be useless. the flexisurf scheme costs $2.50/day. the minimum is you use for 5 days straight. means everytime you use, it'll be active for 5 consecutive days after you pay starhub $12.50 from a credit card. if you use on the 6th day it's another $12.50... and it'll be active for that next 5 days. i called up their hotline but the girl was as clueless as i am. my brother had a better picture.

oh well counting down 18 days to go? i'm getting this kinda feeling like you are in a very long queue to take a poo. the queue takes 18 days to reach the end of it just so i get to poo and get on to the next stage. i hope i don't mess things up. sometimes i feel like a ball of nerves just thinking about getting on with live down udder. moo... can't imagine living with cows down udder.

*i'm really HAPPY today! -muacks-*

Monday, January 17, 2005

i'm on another quest

rechargeable batteries! yay~ i'm gonna look for some good ones. sure gonna save me quite a bit on buying new batteries all the time when i'm down under. i had grandcell and GP. but my grandcell batteries all disappeared, left the charger. the GP charger+batteries belong to my bro so forget about it. i'll just have to hunt for something else. somebody mentioned GP is no good. so anybody got any idea? Sony??? there's always this cost/effectiveness debate. guess there should be a balance eh... u get too cheap rechargeables they probably don't last long. costlier ones last slightly longer probably but costs an extra arm or leg. anywhere in town that sells a variety of the rechargeable batteries+charger?

oh and yes 0404799246 is my new number. but from SGP u dial 011 61 404799246 to get to me. i bought it at quite a bargain. being a student registered under Fortrust i got the prepaid sim card at S$20 for A$30. my dear friend jason got his at $10 more. but still a steal. S$30 for A$30. the exchange rate is at 1.2+ i think. the provider is Vodaphone. yes they aren't in the local market. they have 4 major providers there, namely Virgin, Optus, Telstra and Vodaphone. i guess it's alright to get the prepaid. if their service sucks or the calls are costing too much, i can drop the prepaid and look for something else once i settle down.

and btw, my nephew saw the box of shit i got for my present. he was so amazed by the little poo poo stuffed toys!

oh i digressed... the hp number, yes that's mine. my bro was just as surprised like wtf their numer is so long lo... 0404799246... i can't imagine if that's in singapore. i don't think i can remember anybody's number at that rate. i heard from my agent, it costs 60cents to send an SMS to australia, and 60cents for the reply. they have funny pricing stages there. you pay something like 40cents for the call on top of 20cents connection fee!!! wtf... oh well we'll see when i get there...

oh the pictures from the birthday... i look damn gay in some of them. and i can't believe i sat on JediSkull's lap. omfg HAHAHA... =_= ok i'll post it up tomorrow once i'd put them together in a mural. :P

*i'm flattered, really*

MY BIRTHDAY!!!

yeah it's my party and i had it at My Secret Garden. it's at 161 Middle Road. in BENCOOLEN. as someone corrected me when i quoted BUGIS. 9 of us squeezed at one table all around with me on a comfy sofa outdoors.

i'd picked up the 3 ladies from orchard and headed down real early. we were there by 540! and we sat there chatting and chilling. we ordered appetisers plus a bowl of sweet corn soup for CA. eventually YQ came with Icgrl nearing 730 =_= sky dark liao... then we order abit more food... well actually only YQ and i had main meal. the rest stared while we ate. XD and finally JediSkull came. with xiaoya. gawd wtf man so late!!!

so we had the cake(mango fruit cake), ate it, and i opened the pressies! lol all gave funny funny pressies... must credit BTL aka GISST for her box of shit for me. XD landscaped somemore... then hor lindie also gave me a pressie despite her non-attendance. thanks la... i collected it at her place before heading down just now. it's a... wall-hanging CD holder! haha really good ah at least one of the items in my wishlist got realised. XD

then the bunch of guys from poly called me up last minute *as usual* to go makan prata. they tricked me down with the promise of a non-existent cake! :( and we were at the simpang bedok 24hr prata shop till about 2am before i declared i wanted to go home. if not they'd have followed the fire engine that roared past to find where catch fire and find number buy 4D. =_=

my bro passed me their luggage. it's larger than my parents' slightly. fits more stuff. my current baggage weight comes in at about 34kg. threw in 1 bottle each of liquid shower soap, and shampoo. plus 3 packs of instant noodles. 2 packs soup one pack dry. and 2 packs of McVities digestives. and my backpack with one laptop in already. will pack in the other one in time to come.

hrmm really thanks a lot everyone. despite having half the people i invited having a no-show, i enjoyed this gathering.

i'll just summarise the highlights of my outing:-
  • 3 guests were punctual(cos i picked them up)...
  • BTL was awarded best dressed because of her skirt.
  • special appearance was by tnim's bf.
  • Was touched that the "trader" showed up despite being busy.
  • 2 rolls of toilet paper from xiaoya.
  • my first landscaped present EVER!
  • the bill came up to $247.xx.
  • and i signed for the bill.
  • i sat on JediSkull's lap.

HAHAHA yes i did! it's for the group photo lah... also first time i meet 2 groups of people for my birthday in one day at 2 separate locations. you fellas really helped made this a memorable birthday! thanks!

*i'm happy on my birthday!*

dim sum anyone?

hohoho... i had lunch eating dim sum at FortunAte Restaurant in Toa Payoh. with my parents, & bro+family. ryan was the usual riot. XD we ate loads!!! and i shared a bowl of frog legs porridge (田鸡粥) with my bro n parents. that big bowl alone costs $10. =_= ok la not too exp. the rest were quite yummy. but i believe all of us felt they threw in too many prawns. almost all the dishes came with prawns. and lots of them too! and to top it all off, i'd foot the bill! *beams* first time using my credit card. wheee... =x

next stop we headed to suntec. we were in search of MY present! a jacket! i think we hunted high and low for it. really. i was pretty sweaty on my back real quick. most of the shops had barely 1 or 2 options available. U2 had a few, Dockers had some variety, Giordano cleared their last design of a jacket i liked, G2000 only had one not too nice one, TopMan had nothing good for a jacket, Timberland had the fisherman type that makes you haggard and old. we concluded at Winter Time, beside Harvey Norman.

The jacket costs $159. there were other cheaper options too. but i liked this one. and they bought for me. *spoilt+touched* my sis-in-law paid for it. however... they didn't have stock there! so we left after paying. my brother was gonna collect it at their hougang mall branch. =x

oh yeah... when i got home, the first thing i did out of the blue, was to give my terrapin a rub down bath. it was getting all mouldy on the edges of its shell!!! i took it out for a walk first. it was in the sun for a while before it decided it was safe to move around. then it proceeded to crawl back towards the general direction of its blue watery home of a plastic box. but he picked up some dirt and stuff along the way so i decided to just give him a bath for his algae-ridden back. so cute when i was rubbing its belly near the head it was opening up its beak! it was either ready to bite me in retaliation or feeling so shiok its mouth opened. LOL... so i rinsed it and placed it back. i dun think it will have this luxury once i'm away... i might not see it alive again by the time i'm back! :(

oh well... one down, 13 more to go. xalmon's a no-show.

  • oh here's a revision of my budgetted wishlist:-
  • travel-sized speakers
  • SD/MMC card holder for at least 3 of those cards
  • tie clip?
  • travel-sized mouse
  • a wallpaper CD holder(i think i've got that in my thinkgeek wishlist)
  • portable harddisk (gawd you can't be serious... these things cost $)
  • pencil case?
  • stationery?
  • *NEW* breakfast-in-bed tray

oh i dun intend to have breakfast in bed all the time. the tray can allow me to use my laptop while i'm between the sheets comfortably. i can prop the lappy up on the tray and save my own lap from overheating and stuff... smart huh!

*<sing>*
happy birthday to me,

happy birthday to meeeeee,
happy birthday to me

birthday wishlist

no bullshit. i've got some stuff i'm considering to get... people often say "one for the road"... well here's a thought for if you haven't gotten me anything yet. haha yes i'm shamelessly putting this up after some thinking.
  • travel-sized speakers
  • SD/MMC card holder for at least 3 of those cards
  • tie clip?
  • travel-sized mouse
  • a wallpaper CD holder(i think i've got that in my thinkgeek wishlist)
  • portable harddisk (gawd you can't be serious... these things cost $)
  • pencil case?
  • stationery?

haha yes i do think my train of thought is somewhat in shambles. you'll get lost following what in the world is on my mind.

confessions of my character

i think i'm majorly flawed. the following may be a tad explicit and you might not want to read it if you always have a good impression of yours truly and don't wish to spoil the image. maybe when i'm done you people can laugh it off.

  • has quite an ego sometimes
  • attempts to discuss things calmly first
  • will use soft approach more
  • puts on a brave front
  • chronic forgetfulness
  • chronic late-arrival(10mins or so)
  • lame jokes
  • cries when really unhappy
  • prefers trance/house music
  • pop is fine too
  • goes for solo car cruises when down
  • if i'm happy, i'll babble nonstop
  • if i'm really happy i'll rant and complain about other people
  • hurt my feelings and i might return the favor
  • make people feel bad about things they did to me
  • behave superior to some (aka xia lan)
  • enjoy pornography often(hmm ok used to)
  • ogle at the opp gender on the road
  • something is wrong when i behave nonchalant
  • love to go skating but have no proper company
  • been known to be an ah-gong aka not streetwise
  • geeky?
  • forgive but not forget
  • but i don't bring up old issues in a debate/disagreement
  • if people did something i disapprove of unintentionally, i let it slide
  • believe that a god exists but don't follow any religion (atheist?)
  • on/off miser(when i'm in the mood)
  • don't mean to be hostile if i don't wish to help out. might have my own problems.
  • try to please everybody
  • hate you only when you'd killed a person or something along that line
  • get angry at situations not people
  • get angry only for a brief moment
  • don't like to quarrel much
  • suck at debating, that's why
  • when i'm too hostile, people ignore me
  • when i'm too friendly, i might sound flirty
  • personally i don't swear much
  • translates "duh" as more offending than "fuck you"
  • gladly help as tech support over the phone if you asked nicely
  • picks my nose in front of you if it's terribly irritated
  • scratch an itch (i try to be) discreetly cos it's itchy
  • at unsightly places of myself
  • may have insecurities about myself
  • doesn't like the hard approach(there's a saying in cantonese: the more you press, the more shit comes out)
  • an average person with average skills on average thinking making average achievements
  • i ask stupid questions
  • i give indirect replies to simple questions (e.g.: "Are you hungry?" "i ate noodles just now")
  • i'd always believed the money my parents gave me was never mine. i'll return them one day.
  • i'm more resilient to physical pain than emotional torture
  • sometimes i'm brief and concise
  • other times, i nag and rant like nobody's business, like now

whoah information overload. too much info! now that i got this off my chest, i'll head to my bed. gawd i think i'm feeling really down to put all that in here. but thanks for reading. check out the time i posted this entry. it's close to 5 in the morning and i'm still awake.

addiction

i think i am addicted to Gunbound.
i am playing into the wee hours.
it is now 4am in the morning.
again.
this is bad.
i need to stop playing the game for a little while i think.

a handful of people already asked me what i want for birthday. in serious fact, all i ask for is some company. a bunch of people having a simple meal with me is all. presents are an added bonus. i think i've been going around repeating this "i only ask for your presence, not presents." to people. hope nobody would call me up last minute to say they weren't gonna show up.

hrmm i hope everyone understands how agonising it can get to be in limbo. waiting for the next phase of my life to start. i'm counting down... 23 days more to go. during this period of time i'll feel joy sadness happiness anxiety nervous stressed anticipating what will come next. being the selfish person i am i certainly hope nobody gives me more suffering than i should.

i think my biorhythm is down these days. or maybe it's just me losing games in gunbound. haha... certainly hope i'll cheer up come sunday. :D

i think there's something wrong with me. i'm constantly incurring the wraths of people i think. some might just say there's nothing wrong and stuff, but obviously me not being dumb can tell there's something wrong. i do enjoy people screwing me. scolding i mean. not the literal... at least they let it out at me and both should feel better that it's all hell breaks loose, the scolder would somehow vent the anger, the scoldee(aka me) will understand what has gone wrong. some scolders may bear the matter in mind and bring it up again the next round of scolding occurs. not their fault but it's just odd, i find, to bring up old issues against new ones.

*i think i'm morbidly stupid to play the nice guy*

new toy!

ooh yeah moi's got a brand new toy and i've got it now! i went down to MS Color in AMK and got it at S$310. the recommended retail price from Canon was $349. ok la i'm satisfied. the model is Canon Powershot A400. i got the tangerine color. the basics are it's 3.2megapixels, and 2.2x zoom. nothing fancy, gets its juice from 2x AA batteries and takes in either SD/MMC cards for storage. it came with a 16MB SD, and Canon threw in another 128MB SD, plus that same 7-in-1 bag my sis got. i collected it at Keppel Tower as well. screen ain't too huge so i'd hope the battery lasts longer since the screen is smaller and takes up less power. oh yeah another thing, Canon provides free storage space online for its customers. can't rem how much MB, but it's free, and allows me to store photos there to share with others.

ooh i decided on Canon because the BTL being a designer et al strongly put her money on Canon products, and so did jason. who was i to argue with the enthusiasts? i only wanted something cheap and easy. i'm not the finicky type for quality. just want my value for money aye V^_^ of course Canon has a more reliable ring to it... than Digimaster, Sanyo and whatnot. i did a comparison of this cam to the other brands. indeed the colors seem richer.

my birthday is coming. i hope things turns out fine. today was a remarkable day. yesterday night aka this 12th Jan wee hours of the morning, i didn't sleep. a wink. and i sent my sis to work and got back home, finally dozing off for an hour or so about noon, then popped to AMK for the digicam. did another few power naps at intervals through out and that was it. i'm abit on the high side, but overall i'm ok. drinking loads of water. think my flu caused me the lack of slumber. it was dripping constantly. so i woke up wee hours to watch mtv, cartoons, simpsons, odd movies... then my maid saw me awake and made me my cuppa milo peng. mummy woke and saw me "wah why so early" and i told her i cudn sleep. she assumed i _woke_ early. gawd no. there was no waking up. i just _kept_ awake. no change in state. and i got high and sent my sis to work. so throughout i was alive surviving on adrenaline. then my battery died out before lunch. i was hungry but i had to close my eyes _for a while_... all in all it's my flu to blame.

i shall play with this new digicam of a toy of mine abit before i KO at last. hope i can get some proper shuteye.

i think i made a good friend upset. i'd like to apologise. i'm sorry. it won't happen anymore.

*nervous for my birthday, nervous for the next phase of my life*

the hunt is on!

i'm going to buy a digital camera.
  • i want it cheap. hopefully below S$400.
  • i want it to run on SD/MMC memory cards. cos i've got a few mmc at home already.
  • i've hunted high and low for some but i think i'll settle for Canon products

there was this Minolta x31, supposedly low end, but phasing out so bah.

there was a Sanyo J2, had good video but i'm looking towards still photos more. a shop managed to slash off $65 from another shop. but i hate people who use rush tactics to make me buy in haste. and then there were cheaper ones from this brand "Digimaster" which i've never heard of before.

next, i'll head down to AMK tomorrow. there's a shop there Jason introduced. we'll see what comes. i'm aiming for this Powershot A400. hope they have it in stock. =_=

oh yeah, i've packed my luggage already and it's ridiculous to have all these clothes i find. i've quite a lot... cold weather clothes, socks, shorts, tees, more tees, a short sleeved and a long sleeved shirt and tie + belt, jeans, pants, towels...

that's for my wearables. i'm not totally packed on my IT equipment. hahaha... i'm gonna pack a separate bag for my 2 laptops + accessories and some CDs in a cakebox plus aussie wall socket adaptors. i bought 2 for myself. a 2pin n a 3pin version. i'll have to pack in ONE webcam and my zipdrive+ethernet usb adapter too. and my mp3 players, thumbdrive, headphone, speaker, handphone accessories, locks, power socket strips, LAN switch... gawd the IT equipment list goes on and on...

i'm having this flu thingy out of nowhere. my mouth ulcer is gone tho. and i'm coughing lesser than yesterday. but the flu is irritating.

i can't sleep and it's 5am.

i think i'll bring my tarepanda and bear over to aussie for company. can't bring gorilla over for its size. i dun wana get another plane ticket for it. i'll leave it with a friend. :D

*everyone play nice for my sake please?*

and then there are others who aren't confirmed. so i'll just leave them out if they dun really intend to show up. haha i'll be happy as long as there's people. hmm i've been getting this some sort of a sore throat these days. might have been the soft bone of a sardine i ate for dinner few days ago... it was stuck there, i felt. and i'd been coughing badly all this while. took some cough drops and felt better... but i hope it'll go away soon.

i'm really counting down to quite some stuff... ok jus two. but two important dates to count down to! my birthday(plus the party), and my flight out of here for the next year... i certainly am going to be very sad to leave all these behind.

  • my comfy room,
  • my desktop pcs,
  • my comfy bed,
  • the lancer,
  • going out whenever i like without fear of getting lost,
  • the weather,
  • the tv programs,
  • the friends,
  • the family,
  • the little nephew,
  • the maid who does all the household chores,
  • my lack of discipline and sobriety of my slacker days,
  • the babes,
  • the privacy,
  • the music,
  • total control of what i want to do, where to go, what to eat/buy/do/think...

I'm gonna miss everyone here!!!

XD

*everyone likes pleasant surprises, me too! :D*

i noticed.

everytime i head out with my car, i drive past my neighbor. so cute... see the rabbit taking a rest looking at the rain on the porch of the house. the 2 dogs snoozing behind it. that is so damn adorable... like it owns the dogs. and the house. and the cars. including the evo8. hahaha

also... today was YC's birthday. the 9 of us guys, as usual, headed to chinatown hong xing for lunch. dim sum was sumptuous! so filling... zzz... we ate for an hour and proceeded to wheelock place Big O. it's opposite NYDC, a sister restaurant of it too. and we each ordered different slices of cakes. having our fill, jason and i made some headway into discussion regarding our aussie stuff. yakkity yak boring right? action come liao.

we left abt 4+. alfred left beforehand. i was gonna drop them all off near their homes. yes all. ok so i dropped jason at the bus stop across wheelock. then i dropped gevelle off, then i dropped daniel yc ivan off... then i dropped EK off.

hurhur start counting. how many ppl did i drop off, that i had given a ride on the lancer i drive. including jason, SIX clowns in my car!!! really like circus. lucky jason alighted early to save his legs from cramping. hahaha... i think some of them had their legs gone numb by the end of the ride. and thru out all whining abt my driving skills. HAHAHA...

no wait there's more. before alighting gevelle, i delivered the bloody ibm laptop to gary. si gary count him lucky i was sending ppl back. passing by so heck la give it to him. and he paid me in cash FULL AMOUNT muahaha... first time see a $1000 note. and so many $50 notes too.

oh yeah. got new card. but i'm probably gonna use it when i hit aussie land.

and i got another stupid dream posted.

currently it is as if i'm counting down to another ORD date. when i fly off.

*i hate being in limbo.*

shiny shiny~ so contrary~

ok here's one secret revealed. remember i mentioned i'm getting a present for my birthday that's small and fits into my wallet, and uses a pen? yeah it's here today, finally...

my very own credit card~! whee~~~ =x ok so i have this joint bank account with mummy and we each got one card. and it's meant to facilitate my purchases over in australia!

"ah boy you don't anyhow sign away on yr credit card hor" she'd say.
"orh. yes mummy..." i obediently reply.

yay~ i think it's visa gold. but not too sure. i'm gonna call up the guy at the bank to check up some things come monday. yea i'm taking it all in for now... :P

*dun ask me. ask ocbc.*

wasting my time~

i'll be brief.
i woke up in time for lunch, gunbound my afternoon away, dinner, gunbound my evening away.

i'v decided that from tomorrow onwards, i'll play less gunbound. max 2 hours a day. the rest will go to my preparation for flying off, packing stuff, re-learning my web skills and acquiring newer knowledge.

i'm also planning on how to organise my own party this 16th.

damn gary. i got my bro to buy an ibm laptop on his behalf at a discounted rate. he better not expect me to deliver it to his doorstep. i'm not earning anything.

another day gone

i woke at 8+ to the naggings of my dad... and sent my sis to work. he can do it too, but supposedly i agreed to send her. why? cos i'm gonna take the car and drive it up to work. so i reached i²r kinda early. dammit i was 10mins short (of 9.30) and had to pay ERP for using ECP. @#$%... oh yea you can skip the next para if u get bored easily.

and i waited in my car for the lady i was suppose to meet. she was driving a yucky brown nissan sunny. and i called her while she was driving so she didn't answer. so by the time i sent her an sms, she was already making her way up the stairs to the building. so i waited a while for her reply "yes arrived." ya duh... i can see her walking of course i know she'd reached. hahaha so i walked towards the building too. haha i took the lift up to 2nd floor. yes lazy i am. but hey there was a nice lady holding lift cos she saw me coming towards the door~ then i went thru the secured door(they use either numerical password or thumbprint scan to enter!) and found she wasn't at her desk! wait a while lo... she came back from toilet. then she passed me some clearance forms to get signatures on. i sign some, get 2 others to sign on, and hey my phone was running dead. so i got the other lady i was working with, had to wait a while for her cos she (as she said it herself) is "usually late" it was 10+am by then... geesh... i borrowed her nokia charger in her office at another floor. so i sat there for a few minutes and chatted some blah and said goodbye. clearance forms are necessary but troublesome. you have to get signatures on the forms proper. so i headed down to the supervisor and passed her the form. and i left for home.

yay. i'm officially no longer an employee (temp) of i²r! i think. they gonna take some time to process my stuff, probably invalidate my password, process my payments and stuff... so here is the conclusion of another phase.

the rest of the day... i think by the time i got home and had lunch - instant maggi mee - and gunbound a while, i concus... for at least 4hrs. HAHAHA... (envious right!!! you all working adults!) waking up in time for dinner and that was pretty much the events for today.

*i'm chillin' yea i'm chillin'...*

i found my old toys!

i got bored n while deciding where to continue cleaning up, i found a box of my old toys! i have a cookie tin full of smurfs! among the smurfs are smaller blue smurfs(literally the figurines are pure blue, and then there were ones which were colored in their proper costumes) and some other small figurines.

then there's LEGO, and MASK! i think some never heard of that before. haha... i've quite a bit of their toys vehicles. the MASK cartoon was about these 2 groups. good and bad guys. they all had vehicles that look like any regular vehicle, except when they need to, they can turn into offensive/defensive weapons. meaning cars can swim/fly, bikes can fly, vans turn into battle stations. the largest i recall(but i don't have) is the trailer truck that converts into a missile launcher and has a small getaway car at the back. ah... those were the days.

then there're He-Man action figures, Silver Hawk, TMNT(uh... teenage mutant ninja turtles) i've only got raphael, doing a breakdancing routine on his back as this wind-up action figure. and this human-fly character.was it Dr McFly...

hehe... that was the short of it. and also, thanks lynn. i know i stink as a sai lang. thanks for the scented incense candle package.

:)

*** uh don't mind me. i just got some ranting to do here. u can skip this part if u are tired, thanks ***

i think everyone's got a problem. me. i think everyone's nice. somehow i understand everyone's situation. but i'm not convenient to tell everyone else their situations. everyone's got their reasons for doing stuff right? why must people not like this person because they did this thing, and vice versa... it is understood everyone have different characters and that is unique to them all. sorry i think i'm applying my own beliefs on everyone else, but why can't everyone be more understanding to everyone else? i always think that people have a reason for doing whatever they do.

for eg, if a guy wants to hack my wallet for $1k to buy something i seriously find useless, there can be a few possibilities why he's doing it.
  • somebody made him believe he can earn enough to buy a car through this method
  • he needs the money for some sick relative
  • he needs to buy branded goods(it's still a reason)
  • he is just being unscrupulous

even so i think i should still be talking politely to him and reject him firmly but nicely.

*i aim to please everyone i know* aka i don't like to make enemies

(it's not impossible, just extremely difficult)

hell hath no fury!

uh the topic was put just because i had that phrase in my head and it had nowhere else to go. it is in no relation whatsoever to my topic for today.

if u r in a rush for time, thanks for reading and here's the summary: i cleaned my room today.

and here's the long...

ok so i didn't _totally_ cleaned up my room. jus portions. my parents wanna get rid of the glass display cupboard in my room in time to come. it's older than me indeed it should be gone.

the encyclopaedias taking up space on one shelf was transferred into another small cupboard next door.

i cleared some miscellaneous hobby stuff into the white drawers. uh... i collect collar pins and keychains if you don't mind.

i threw away piles of papers, old magazines, brochures. i don't see why i need to hold on to an NYP prospectus booklet. nor sec sch alumni invites.

the old scanner had to go. not compatible with new systems nowadays.

old calendars begone! i had stuff from 2002 and 2003! oh yeah, and farewell FHM diary for 2004! i didn't use it. i took it from camp and kept it untouched. haha...

cleared the pile of bags on my floor back into their storage area in my wardrobe. uh i reiterate, yes i have a lot of bags too. briefcase sizes, backpacks, slings, small pouches... and a duffel bag too!

cleared some piles of junk off my table. i think i shall pass shan some nightmare pics of herself when i next meet her up. old letters that no longer need attention. ERS notifications and unused army letters blah.

hey i dug out 2 certs i got from my army days. kinda classified so i doubt they'd come in handy for interviews in future. =_=

so in a sense i did tidy up some stuff, threw some stuff, relocated some stuff. overall my desktop _looks_ neater now. and my mum shouldn't nag at me for the next few days at least. she saw the piles of junk i threw into the little bin of mine. "aiyo all these you should pass to me so i can filter which ones can let the maid fold into paper tray containers" (loosely translated) and i promptly reply "orh" and carried on my cleaning.

*aChoOo* hazards of cleaning up. dust gets in the way. i'm slightly asthmatic, but i can handle this amount.

oh yea i have a huge stack of floppy disks with a box. got it _off_ my floor and into the empty space i had cleared on the cupboard. haha ironic. clear junk for space for more junk.

u guys free on coming jan 16th sunday? evening 7-ish? meet out for a meal simply :D before i fly off...

notice that i like to keep the date matching. altho i did this post 3.40am but i prefer to include it as yesterday's post.

*is there a race against time going on?*

when u stay home too often...

your family will ask you to go out to buy this buy that. when u stay home too often. and i promptly obey, being the good boy that i am. ^^ hey but i am!

then you'll be made to dig out old winter clothings and filter out "aiya this one is wear inside wan yellowish nvm la". i'm sorting out those that i will bring to australia for the cold weather. so i chose some that can fit me still (after so long?!) and the rest were kept back into their respective bags. my family keeps a stash of wintery clothes for when we go for holidays abroad. and also i'll be taking the old luggage case. it's rather big. but the combination code lock is broken. i think somebody forgot the code and we had to break it open when they got home. haha...

oh yes i went to the petrol kiosk to refuel the car just now. something damn idiotic happened. i was turning out on to a main road when this dark gray evo8 came behind me and kinda tailed me abit. i noticed it was flagging a scooter to overtake it. and it was tailing me even though there were other lanes open for him to go ahead. then he drove to my right and looked at me with an my-car-can-outrun-your-car-even-if-you-went-ahead-of-me expression. being the obedient citizen i am, (hey i said i am!) i ignored his scornful remarks and meekly followed behind the pickup in front of me. he went ahead and... stopped at the red light. HAHAHA stupid right? pia so much in front still got red light. show off dickhead. hmf. so i reached the traffic light adjacent to his rear right. when the light turned green, he (the car, rather) grunted loudly and sped off into the distance. i carried on driving my obedient driving style while he drove away...

i wish TP mata will catch him and ppl like him for driving aggressively. but oh well... i'd be happy for the fella if he(he seems about my age) acquired that vehicle on his own effort through legal means. that means he's rather successful. otherwise i'd be sad for his parents(if they bought it for him) or him, if he got the car through unmentionable options. i hope he uses enough KY jelly for that case.

my car really look aggressive meh? nothing much wad it's just a meek little lancer, unmodified. with a little fancy dark number on its silver body. my spoiler so small. suspension standard. exhaust not that big. headlights amber yellowish, not white. bodykit not too fierce either. driver even more shy shy school boy type. HAHAHAHAHA...

no la seriously i like to play with my car. but only if nobody else is around. especially the stretch of paya lebar where they're having construction for the circle line. lots of turns to play with and skid around on. and the huge hump on the metal plating road too. it's fun when every other car slows down while i being used to the hump goes head on and advances ahead of the pack.

XD
i'm not nuts la
i'm gonna miss everyone when i fly off.
if you read my blog, u r invited. i intend to have a party on my birthday.
2 weeks + 1 day from now. night time mostly.
msg/email me for details. ^^

i'm getting old!

*whine*

i got white hair. it's not just one, not two, but several strands at the front above my forehead! eek real white hair... and it's landed on me! i'm getting old le... maybe i'll come back from australia with a full set of white hair. then u all dun recognise me liao. :

cold weather today. perfect for people to huddle and cuddle together. i shall go cuddle with my bolster pillow. whole day rain. probably due to the tsunami. it's all the same. tsunamis, tidal waves, sea storms. whatever you call it in your native tongue, "sibei dua zui lai liao" also can be understood. the rain is most likely caused by the big amount of water. i hope we don't drown.

i'm feeling moronic these days. no aim no nothing. lalala... slack my life away for now...

sad

i don't actually own them. i don't take care of them. heck. i don't even really bother about them much at all. we were partly to be blamed.

one of my terrapins died. the one that gets bullied by the dominant one. i last noticed it's butt area skin was peeled off and stuff. when i poked at it just now, it was motionless. lifeless. my dad came around, placed it on the floor, and the limbs were soft like jelly. it no longer opens its eyes.

it ended up in the dustbin.

my condolences. we did not treat it well.
