wake-up-early day

today was one of those rare days in which i wake up real early. 8am or so at least. my brother took leave so's we could go get our cars checked at the inspection centre with our dad. yes, our cars done together. well alright, consecutively, but you get the idea.

we drove to the vicom inspection centre up at sin ming drive and there was hardly a queue. mostly because it's a monday and people would normally would have done it on saturdays. both cars passed. my dad's Lancer passed better than my brother's Galant though. why? cos our Galant had this black decal sticker stuck on the small triangle of a space on the glass just beside the window on the rear seat doors. that's my brother's idea. he had to remove those decals and go through the inspection again (yes it's mostly for show we believe) and we were allowed to go. the other thing was our fog lights. the fog lights are not the usual headlamps that come with the cars, but were original and came with the car, to be used in foggy situations (hence the name duh). they "reminded" us we should get these lights covered up. but seriously... i don't think anyone gives a hoot about this. see if we manage to find some covers for these little foglights. else we're probably gonna screw it and leave it alone.

we then took my car for a bit of maintenance. it was at the "outpatient clinic" down at AMK Auto Point (no it's not a mouse cursor thing) to fix a damaged engine block mount and have its brake appendages checked. we'd be returning in a few hours to collect the car.

in the meantime, my bro took his car (with my dad and myself along) to replace his tyres. expensive tyres. i guess maintaining a car is really costly afterall... >_<"

at least we headed home for lunch, and rested a bit before going out to collect the Lancer. today was a heck of a warm and humid day... =_=zzz so anyway, i drove the Lancer home, while my parents took the little monster out with his dad for some cuppa. amazingly, the drive was much smoother. the engine wouldn't vibrate violently when in gear and stationary. the brakes wouldn't emit anymore deafening squeaks when applied. i rested at home until it was time for my back-to-routine run.

it wasn't all too bad today. after being out of action for the past few days, i managed to trim another 10 seconds or so off my previous timing. 12' 26" for today. hope to improve somemore. maybe if i go for a haircut tomorrow i could lessen the load and make myself more aerodynamic...hehe...

*whatever it is... hope you will pull yourself together.*
