happy boxing day

ok so i didn't blog on christmas. i was totally occupied with my sweetie. xD

i'll have you know we went away to a local hotel on christmas eve and spent the night together! ok la it was at the fullerton. they had a package going on for weekenders and we'd booked it few months back. =x the location was magnificent~! after checking in after 2pm+ on xmas eve, we kicked back and relaxed in the room, taking in the breathtaking scenery out the balcony. we had a room facing the mouth of the Singapore River, looking towards the Sheares Bridge and the Esplanade.

when evening came, we headed to jack's place somewhere for our dinner. gosh their xmas menu was really out to ketoh people indeed. their mushroom soup was pretty nice and thick, just that we had to request for a change of the soup (their soup of the day was spinach soup yelch...) aka had to pay a bit more. they had for us a box of novelties and party hats to get us into the spirit too. oh... and when they mentioned "christmas logcake ice cream" they actually meant "a stick of chocolate-crusted vanilla ice cream dolloped with a spoonful of whipped cream". but at least the meal was pretty filling. bugger me if it wasn't.

after leaving the restaurant, we headed back to the hotel room and spent the night together. using the novelties we had from the restaurant, we blew the party kazoos (or whatever you call those) down at the pedestrians walking on the streets. it was still pretty crowded down there, considering it was already quite late at night. what comes next after that... is just a romantic night for us. ;)

we woke up pretty early for our complimentary breakfast at like 630am! we had to wait for a bit however for them to be ready. i must say the staff were all very polite and nice. and given that time of the day, nobody else was around so we were practically the only couple around eating. it felt as if we were the special guests in the whole ballroom they had the breakfast served in. the waiters/waitresses stood around and we got pretty much all we'd need. they had american breakfast, throw in abalone porridge and some croissants. it was real filling. i think i recall surrendering one full croissant after all that. after having all that food, we headed back to our room to KO until checkout time. that is of course, including time to pack things up a bit. and taking another shower in their cool bathroom too!

i think everything in the room looks much better and stylish because they had orange-ish spotlights installed everywhere. for most rooms at our homes, we'd probably have white flourescent light for practical reasons. but having spotlights makes everything looks more classy and adds a bit more prestigious feel to the room.

i'm still conducting my job hunt but i guess it'll take a while given that i'm assuming 80% of the companies at this time of the year would have 60% of their staff on leave and the rest isn't being very productive, especially after all that christmas turkey and stuff like that. i'd better start running again before my time expires and i'd have to go for RT. :( i think i can't avoid that annoying 2 alphabets le...

in any case, happy boxing day to everyone. i'll just be working on a namecard for company in the meantime. cheap labour indeed. oh well, while i'm free might as well right?
