the maid we have with us sucks. she doesn't know english at all, doesn't follows instructions, and doing things at inappropriate times (eg: ironing because my mum's fixing dinner).
we requested the agency to change the maid for us. it was scheduled for tomorrow. but alas...
my day had begun early this morning, sending my sis to work. and subsequently accompanying my dad to tan tock seng. it was for pre-admission assessment for his operation in weeks to come. they took his blood pressure, asked some questions, and then the anaesthetist had to find out about his whole illness history. she was an indian. so naturally i had to act as the translator, briefing my dad about the situation, and asking him questions on her behalf. it was a tricky and rather long process.
- did he have diabetes before? no.
- high blood pressure? no.
- high cholestrol? no.
- previous recent operation? no.
- food allergies? no.
- drug allergies? no.
- heart attacks? no.
- undergone dialysis? no. (i thought no diabetes = no dialysis? correct me if i'm wrong!)
- ...and somemore...
then they took his blood and ECG. and then xray.
ryan had been rather annoying today (what's new?) and wanted to play with me. i kept telling him i need to do my stuff. =_=
my afternoon after lunch, involved visiting Sim Lim Square! yay! or not. i barely stepped into the first shop to ask for prices when my brother called me up. he asked me to stop shopping and head home. something wasn't quite right with the maid. uh. okae. so i stopped and left the building. but i felt i better call back first. that i did. my mum asked me to settle my shopping first. well alright then. back into the building i went! =_= and feeling somewhat sian of all this running up n down (which is mostly my own fault really, for not checking home first) i bought the stuff i wanted all at the same place. 1x 80GB hdd, 1x 200GB hdd, and 1x external hdd casing. totaled $350. ho hum.
so i hurriedly made my way back home. the worse thing was my phone battery was totally flat out. i reached home and... nothing was up! she hasn't been eating. the maid that is. didn't take her breakfast, nor her lunch. my parents got the agency to send someone down to take the maid back. while waiting for the person to arrive, i just did my own stuff, configuring the new harddisks. the lady came, spoke to the maid, and the maid went to pack up. apparently she knew this will happen soon and had actually packed her belongings already. so she left the house with the agency person quietly. my mum didn't want to come down to show her face, lest the maid starts to kick up a fuss. -sigh- sounds complicated somewhat.
so no maid. suppose new maid coming tomorrow or the day after. this one is suppose to be able to speak chinese somemore! let's hope it'll be fine. else it'll be tricky once my dad is admitted for his operation.
i'm still trying to set up my harddisks. tricky stuff these are. too long never go down and dirty with my computers.
