longest day of the week?

rather i believe today had more things accomplished by me than any other day since school started. 10.30 was a lecture, which was similar to database subjects i did in poly. of course he did talk on a higher level and referring to topics on a larger scale. then it ended, 12.30 and time for lunch.

except i didn't take any. i felt hungry somewhat, but decided against eating anything. jason grabbed a sub and headed to his religious thingy. as for me, i popped over to an empty lab to check my mail and some course material. and made an appointment with my course coordinator. and i checked the airfares with STA Travel which had a branch on campus. bloody A$819 for royal brunei return ticket to singapore?! : ah... back to the drawing board. and i headed to the lecture theatre. which was just as well since my phone kinda died on low batt and jason wouldn't be able to get me anyway.

right. after a few slides, it totally confirmed my thoughts that this is totally UML. we were taught this in poly! not that i was any good in this subject in particular. back then it was titled Object Oriented Development Methodology by TP, used Rational ROSE software and was taught by a balding AND boring male lecturer which kinda had us close to failing. over here they call it Software Process Management, apparently will be teaching us with Rational CASE(Computer Aided Software Engineering) and taught by a not-balding-as-much lecturer, of a higher education qualification. ok that was probably info overkill. basically my point is. it seems similar to what i've learnt in poly, but i wasn't that good in this subject in poly. so hopefully i can improve upon this and benefit more from the theories behind this subject. it does seem helpful in time to come.

right after it ended, was time for my appointment with the course coordinator! yes! finally i'll be meeting her. after all this time i was sending so many emails to various ppl to have finally gotten around to meet her up in person and ask my questions. although her answers weren't totally appealing at least i got answers. yes i need to do a year2 subject, C++. for the sake of the logic and theories behind it. and according to her, *hopefully* i can survive this semester. i can only enrol in the offending subject next semester since the other "compulsory" subjects are only available in this session! ladida. pray n hope n cross my fingers tight i guess. she said something like that too. at least she's agreed with this line of thought of mine.

as i said my phone died. we popped home and i charged my phone. apparently, my parents left me 5 voice msgs. i called them back. after some coming and going, they finally found the book for UML. my fault really, since i asked my bro and sis to look out for a book with the word "Rational" and they didn't really see it cos it was in smaller font than "UML". and since my dad was able to call me up and talk, it seems he's much better already. and brother is done with reservist and everything seems to be nearly back to normal. my cousin will be flying back to sg and dropping by my home to pick up the stuff meant for me from my family. heh that's fine so far. and i'll probably take the train down to sydney on friday night. 2hrs or less isn't too bad... since i heard from jason that the parking there is terribly exp.

and lynn, yes i guess pancakes for lunch is kinda KINKY... but what IS kiki's delivery... i'd act blur and not try to think it is some anime. hehehe... shan, i'd always blame myself for a lot of things i'd done. it's the common case of "if-only" dilemma. although i'd always rebutt myself and say if i'd knew everything i'd be a deity. to which i am not, so i am human and make mistakes. i would _prefer_ things to happen otherwise but since it is not i shall only sit here and sigh. of course there are times when it's obvious something is not my fault, so i guess it's not always that i blame myself for every single thing. which is healthier i presume... :) as for crumpler bags... no i dun notice it a lot here.

to think of it, i hadn't even been to town these days. to and fro between school and home. well yes my temporary-permanent place of residence, i guess i could call it home. oxymoronic term i used. we've gotten our groceries from minimarts or grocers nearby and not in town. and we rather stay home than take a walk in town since there really isn't a lot to see there anyway. only thing there is a "Crown St Mall" which i must admit we hadn't gone through the whole lot there. but recently there were reports of legionnaire's disease outbreak in that area so i guess we'd be better off not going there much either.

i heard abt the fires in singapore, to which i must express my concern for friends and families staying there. i do hope nobody's developed asthmatic conditions so far? it's really been like a 24hr aircon here. although yes sometimes it gets a bit warm. but a regular day calls for temperatures of around 24°C which is rather comfortable.

i think it's been a long time since i rant for paragraphs on end so haha happy reading my naggy lengths of text...

*and for the last time, the girls here aren't exactly nice to look at*
