my bed

yes my bed is falling apart. well not really. i just exaggerated. but close enough.

one two nights ago i was heading for bed when SUDDENLY! (dun worry nothing fell apart) i noticed why was the beam holding up the bed post on the long side seem "seng eh" and not fitting into the little gutter area like it was supposed to. i took a closer look and realised the allen screw just wasn't doing wad it was supposed to be. it's not SCREWING the wood in place. haha... lame joke. anyway i just played with it abit. slot it in/out/in/out/in the hole. why is it so loose? i wondered. ho hum i left it as it was and went to bed. i realised the bed was kept in place by being supported with the screw slotted in place so might as well leave it intact as it was.

went for lunch out with my parents and sis today. after briefly bringing up the matter to my dad, (i had chicken udon for lunch btw) when we reached home he brought his toolbox up. we took a closer look and dug out the offending piece of metal. the allen screw was suppose to screw into this other screw that will somehow result in a T-shaped joint with the 2 screws screwed together. i dunno how to describe that screw. basically it's slotted in perpendicularly to the allen screw. the allen screw screws into the side of this screw. argh screw it.

so anyway, my dad being the improvisation genius he is, found a square nut for replacement. i shoved the nut in while my dad screwed the allen screw in. and voila! my bed is as good as new! and now more worries about dreaming about falling and waking to realise i've really fallen. hahaha omg that was another lame joke.

oh. side note. i recovered 2 posters. i had them placed between the mattress and the wooden panel supporting the mattress. no the posters aren't of questionable content. one is of an aircraft engine schematic, the other is of the aircraft Typhoon. i took them as freebies back when i was *ahem* working for the army during Asian Aerospace.
