once in a while, i get to dream in my sleep. from time to time i'll post my dreams up here to share with everyone. what i do whenever i'm able to wake up -and- remember vaguely, what the dream was about, is to rush to my PC the moment my eyes open, type it up, and save it in a text file. this so i won't forget my dreams that easily. i must swear these following events really did happen in my dreams and eerie as some of they may sound i did not make them up. here's the first of the series...
[The Building]
Many people had disappeared due to unknown causes in a shopping centre people nicknamed "The Building". It seemed that the people had crossed a link-bridge on the top floor of the building and they were all seen alone at the time before their disappearances.
Our man comes into picture as a guy known as "K". K frequently passes by a canvas shop operating from a shophouse somewhere outside the central business district in the east.On this fateful day, as he walked past the canvas shop, he saw something unbelievable, that he could have sworn his eyes were playing tricks on him. Seated on an 'empty' chair outside the canvas shop, was an apparition, a partially visible image of a man. The ghost appeared to be drained of colors - K saw the ghost in shades of gray! As he was alone, K approached the shop owner who was cutting some material.
"Er...uncle, do you see anyone there?", K pointed to where the apparition sat.
"Oh, you mean that ghost? Aiya, I've seen a lot of them recently. They won't bother you if you don't bother them." the shop owner replied. "I think they were all killed in the shopping centre over there," he pointed K in the direction of "The Building".
"What did the police say?" K asked."Nobody called 'em. Nothing was left of the people who died. People who saw them fell said their bodies sunk as if the ground was quicksand. There weren't any traces left behind!" came the shocking reply.
Alas, K had an enormous amount of curiousity growing within him to investigate the causes of the deaths of so many people that even the police could do nothing about. K walked to "The Building" across the street. There were some shoppers, mostly tourists. Nevertheless, the shopping centre still looked deserted and felt eerie.
Wishing to take a better look at the surroundings, went for the stairwell next to the elevators. While walking up the staircase that was facing the inside of the building, he saw that the building had corridors encircling an open space from the second floor to the top floor, such that the top floor could be seen from the ground floor. As he approached the top floor, K's hair stood on end. Unknown to him, two women were watching his every move.
K reached the top floor and saw the mysterious link-bridge spanning across the wider side of the building. The two women were still eyeing him, K had now realized. Their icy stares sent chills down his spine, yet he felt calmness and a compulsion to trust the two mysterious figures. Unable to control himself, he stood with the two women and listen to them talk to him. One appeared to be in her 40's, the other in her 70's. When the younger woman spoke, her voice was deep and sounded masculine. The voice that spoke did not seemed to belong to this world. Unable to catch what the voice was saying but still felt the compulsion to nod as if he understood, K felt hypnotized.
The two women crossed his arms into theirs and started "helping" him towards the bridge. k broke out in sweat, wondering if this was his end. The trio reached the middle of the bridge, and stopped. As if waiting for someone or something, they stood still. K felt a gentle breeze on his cheeks. While trying to figure out where the breeze came from, K felt a sense of gravitational force lightly tugging at him from the middle of the bridge. Looking around, K saw people shopping at the floor below him all standing still, and knew time, had somehow stopped. A dot appeared in the middle of nowhere, and quickly grew into what appears like a portal from some sci-fi movie.
Straining and having the urge to break free from this tight situation, K strained his arms, trying to wrest himself from the clutches of the two demonic figures standing next to him. As if suddenly regaining consciousness, K instinctively knocked the two women together, pushing the seventy-year-old into the reddish-glowing vortex.
The other woman, regaining her stability, chased after K, awkardly much like a zombie. K tried to shake her off at one of the building's pillars on that floor, but ended up getting caught on the wrist by her. Giving the lifeless woman a kick in her chest, K paused to pant. The woman spoke. Only this time, K could hear her with clarity.
"You must come with us," her voice sounded like a million voices speaking together.
"But why?" K inquired, despite his overwhelming fear.
