so this is how things goes

when u feel the 4Bs, bored, broke, blue, bastardly, it's no wonder u'll get stuck at home like me! isn't it? going out = spend money, stay home = bored, can't go out + can't stay home = bastardly feeling, bastardly feeling = fucked up blue! hahaha

ok i got 2 new computer things just on friday and i haven't yet mentioned them. i went down to sim lim and bought a USB2.0 PCI adapter and a bluetooth class 1 (10m range) usb adapter.

haha it was fun trying it out with my brother on his laptop. his new k700i was able to make use of bluetooth and control his mouse cursor on the display! so fun! hehe can manipulate in powerpoint slideshow mode somemore...

oh ya the usb2.0 pci adapter is just an extension for my com cos i don't have such a feature! must upgrade. lolx... it was barely $25 so not that bad hehe... and it took me less than 5mins to get it installed and running! -phew- most things usually take more than half an hour to get things going...

darn. come to think of it... my brother avoided my request for a refund! i paid for his bluetooth! tsk... i'll have to k siao ask him another few more times. hahaha...

i'm gonna get a hp!

oh guess what. i've decided. i'll probably get the 7610 or 6230(probably the 6230) and extend 2yr contract with m1. this weekend(yes! mainly cos daddy kinda asking when i'm gona get it).

why 6230 u ask? it's cheaper! and look honestly i'm not that vain about what with a "real man's phone" stuff. i'm fine with a smaller screen. will laugh if it takes pictures, at all. nvm abt the megapixel shit. i'm getting a digital camera anyway.

harharhar... i just want a better hp that don't reboot on me halfway thru typing an sms. and take purty pekchurs~ and 'sides, it's got
  • a smaller footprint,
  • radio,
  • mp3,
  • bluetooth,
  • mmc slot,
  • video,
  • gprs-wap,
  • java,
  • mms,
  • handsfree speaker...

and so much more... LoL... darn i'm plugging an ad for it! actually if u guys remember over 10-20 posts ago i mentioned that i read a book. i analyse that i'm probably aligning myself with what i believe in. just so i'd get that handphone, no matter what. cos i believe i'm telling myself that this is the right thing to do cos i'm this kinda person. hahaha :P

summary of location

i found this when i got nothing else better to do and went to surf my old cobweb (refresh the main page if u happen to visit, i did it and i think it's cool to have the paragraph randomly generated from a choice of 4-5 versions) to take a look-see, of which i still find intriguingly interesting:

High cost of living, sunny tropics with occasional monsoons. It NEVER snows, hardly any storms, much less natural disasters to the likes of earthquakes and tornadoes. You probably won't even be able to spot Singapore on the map of the world as it is usually represented by a red dot.

Surrounded by states of Malaysia and Indonesia, Singapore has been known to be a advanced city that embraces technology. Public transport links to almost everywhere and citizens own at least one cellular phone per adult. Not bad an advancement, compared to the neighboring countries.

oh yes i had plentiful amts of old cobwebs of which i suppose 90% of them are gone. i had like 3 old websites before that above cobweb. one of which was a large site (i called a constellation) hosting a few varying sections of interests (i called them planets that belonged to my constellation) of course that sounded neat back then but hey i was barely still sec sch k... and dabbling with 3d gfx har har... ahh... those were the days...

probably by now you figure, (or maybe not) man this guy is nuts about JavaScript. hahaha well indeed i'm very much into client-side scripting esp JavaScript! it's fun and it doesn't need processing power like server-side scripting languages. hehehe...

ho hum...

what have i been up to? fiddling with design templates, webpage layouts blahblah. oh ya n i just did a script in irc for auto-kickban of nicks with ip addresses that don't resolve into DNS. basically it's meant to kick bots/drones.

check this out. copy it if u want, no probs.

this goes into your "remote" tab under your Scripts Editor in mIRC:

on *:JOIN:#: {
if ( # isin %safe.list.chans ) {
if ( $right( $address( $nick , 2 ) , 1 ) isnum ) {
set %tempip $mid( $address( $nick ,2) , 5)
if ( $right( $address( $nick , 2 ) , 1 ) isnum ) {
set %tempip $mid( $address( $nick ,2) , 5)
if ( $right( $address( $nick , 2 ) , 1 ) isnum ) {
set %tempip $mid( $address( $nick ,2) , 5)
if ( $findtok( %safe.list, $left(%tempip, 7), 0, 32 ) < 1 ) {
/kick # $nick bottieeeeee?
/mode # +b $address( $nick , 14 )
.timer 1 3600 /mode # -b $address( $nick , 14 )
}
unset %tempip
}
}
}
}

this goes into your Variables tab:
%safe.list 210.24 202.156 218.186 218.212 219.74 220.255 203.116 152.226 202.136 203.126 155.69 153.20 203.169
%safe.list.chans #what-ever-channel

go ahead add any channel u wish. "safe.list" are those .sg ip addresses or any other ip addresses u want to prevent from getting kicked by the script, a "just-in-case" option.

and just to say again, pls render some assistance and help me click on the ad. hahaha... i'm running dry lately. if not den little poor ol' me can't go out tt often with u fellas... :( =X

and spare me some affection if u've got any left over... dry on that too XD

research info

ok this post is just for research purposes i'm doing so info mining on web hostings. so bear with me ya?

Yahoo! has a few options. but i recommend the standard package. starter doesn't have php/mysql support. no setup fee(waived)

SG.GS comes in 2 flavors. windows or unix. obviously windows is more exp. $15/mth compared to $10/mth for unix. setup fee of $30.

8toinfinity also comes in both flavors, same thing $30 setup fee, but at $100/yr, or $40 setup @ $20/mth. they claim to be "singapore's largest budget web hosting company". their unix package is practically same pricing as their windows 2003 server options.

yup, my 2 cents' worth of opinions. if u'd noticed, my suggestions are local-based for obvious reasons.

click away!

oh yes! see that annoying little box that seems in the way at the top right corner? i believe everyone who has a blog should go get it and we can all start earning $$$ little by little! c'mon man on account of us all visiting each others' blogs almost daily right? then we can form some sort of a webring and help each another click on their ads on their blogs. hey xalmon`! i clicked for u le! wahaha... click away~ i really wonder how effective it is... maybe can see results after 1yr or something like that haha... AdSense by Google is the name.

oh and anyway, i got my itchy hands to work again. few days ago i cleaned up my mountain of boxes above my closet and that corner is waaaaaay neater now. erm yes i did mention boxes. what boxes you ask? well... quite a range. mostly computer parts boxes... motherboards, network equipment, zip drive, xbox, my pair of skates... blahblahblah... haha...

AND! and i tidied up my collection of bags as well! wahaha... uh shhh i have a sizeable amount of bags in my possession =X so... i divided the pile into a bunch of ugly ones that i probably won't touch unless no choice, and kept them in my army duffel bag. wahaha... as for the remaining nice nice ones... back into the compartment they go, albeit this time round there're lesser bags in that space. wheeee~ i'm a closet bag lover! V^_^

tweaks

ok so obviously i did some changes to my blog page. this is just for the record. :P
  • removed white space above main title
  • shifted counter below blogger icon
  • updated particulars info
  • changed poll
  • shrunk list of fellow bloggers into two columns
  • removed items from Frequent Links and updated recent activities
  • removed Does/Don'ts (why bother?)
  • streamline archive links

haha not much, just tiny tweaking. just what my (now defunct) "Does" section says. dabbles in Web designing/tweaking.

*tweak tweak*

so what do i have in store...?

shucks... been playing gunbound almost whole day... and sad to say i haven't been improving much anyway.

i'll be looking for accomodations in australia. my agent says i should settle that early. and if not possible, book the air ticket and inform to be picked up by UOW at the airport on that date. this is so i can be available for the free accomodation assistance, meaning i'll get a temp place to put up at while they take us around for a look-see with the local real estate agencies.

ok so i'm still pretty new to this freelance thingy. hope it works out well. guess i'll have take a self refresher course on my web programming skills and learn PHP in the meantime... and gawd i need to update myself on the latest design trends... omg... my portfolio, the old works were like bloody red and awful orange. omg!!!

lets see... i'll consolidate what i want to buy. yet again. in order or priority.
  1. handphone
  2. laptop
  3. luggage
  4. digital camera
  5. HomePlug Ethernet Adapter
  6. green laser pointer (haha!!!)

the email that made my day

Hi Ken,

Yes, I do recall Kenji talking to me about you and I've been through yourPortfoilo. You are pretty versatile and have experience in java (tomcat),cold fusion, javascripts, asp and oracle. Other than programming you havealso dabbed into designing aspects. Very nice portfolio you have there.

I would have a couple of questions for you.

Now, to let you choose between programming and designing, which one do youenjoy more or which one are you more comfortable with?

Are you from TP ITAS?

Would you consider free lancing?

Is there other information you would like me to know about you?

How aboutsending me a resume or CV?

Regards,
[name withheld]

i had a dream again last night!

but i forgot wad was it about liao... =x

dream...

ok so this wasn't from the files. rather, it was from last night. ok technically speaking i woke up at 2pm so i'd assume the period of dreaming was about 9-10am after which i went into deep slumber.

so there i was, back in camp! the me in the dream, knew that it was 2weeks after my ORD date, but god knows what i'm still doing in camp working/running around?!

i had some debate thingy with somebody, and figured i'm stuck there cos there's still one last signature to complete on my clearance form. damn it, i thought. but on second thoughts, i remembered, i did complete the clearance form. and then someone told me, there's still a cover letter to complete the process. i was like wtf?! nobody told me about that part before!!! so i pottered all over the unit to settle my procedures.

i eventually "got out" of the camp, freed from the hassles, and basically ORD-ed in my dream. and woke up.

must've been a fusion of my worry of my clearance form from ORD(my PC had went on holiday for a week until i found him when he returned, to sign the bloody form), and the writing of my résumé to look for a job. amazing things dreams can bring you...

oh and i updated my portfolio! re-organised things a bit. this time, with two separate sections. i'm still proud of my shark diver game. it still works, and i finished it in like 2-3days while slacking away during my SIP in TP wahaha... =x

silly joke

i caught food crossroads aka Shi2 Zi4 Lu4 Kou3 on tv over a week ago n heard this joke from one of the hosts... can't get it out of my head hahaha but it's in chinese so... hope u get the joke anyway.

Long long time ago there lived a reverend in a temple. he had a huge jar of good wine hidden under the bed in his bedroom. one day, he decided to take a sip of his wine, but when he took the jar out, he discovered to his astonishment that the wine was all gone!

Being a monk he was not supposed to be consuming any alcohol, so he had to find a way to interrogate his disciples. He decided to call up all 4 of his disciples into his room.

"hao *jiu* bu jian le", quipped the reverend to the 4 juniors.

On hearing this, the 1st disciple, knowing what he meant but was fairly innocent replied "shan zai, shan zai(siang zai, siang zai)".

Followed was the 2nd disciple. He too, was innocent, and hence declared: "or mi tor for(wo mei tao he)".

Then came the 3rd disciple's reply, of whom had been slightly tainted, "wo fo ci bei(wo he si bei)".

So the 3rd disciple had drank 4 cups of the good wine. But surely 4 cups was not enough to finish the whole jar of it?

Finally it was the 4th disciple's turn. Little did the rest know... "zui guo, zui guo"... he finished the whole jar and got drunk!

haha sorry if my way of telling the joke was too lame or boring~! :P

it took me a while

so i pretty much disappeared for a while lately. it's cos of this. my portfolio for the past homework i'd worked on... and then some... HEALTH ADVISORY WARNING! You may feel nauseous, and might be intensely grossed out upon laying your eyes on some of the layouts in there. Please seek medical assistance if you feel discomfort or flashing of your whole life across your eyes in general.

ok welcome back. you were unconscious for 2 days but the witch doctor said you would recover after drinking some elephant piss so we had to jack off the nearest proboscidea just to save you...

uh yeah... i did my portfolio in blogspot. i'd been desperately retrieving all my past works these days! it was pretty hard work and all... and once again, here's a list!

  • my workhorse computer is slow,
  • my works, though archived, are all over the place in the depths of my harddisk,
  • some require setting up special software to run(Coldfusion, JSP, ASP, databases...),
  • some are hidden in my old harddisks,
  • everytime i switch harddisks i have to power on/off my computer and work in DOS mode (omg!)

doubt it'd come as any surprise to some of you. yes i'm averagely fluent in DOS commands. oh great, what's DOS you say? it's like that Windows XP you use. only it's all black, no mouse, needs you to type in stuff to make it work, and it does only one thing at a time.

and that's not the end of it. i think i just found another one or two more of my works...

i jus caught Get Rea! on CNA. see that xiaxue blog of a stranger i have there? media whore indeed. lol... i think she looks better in her blog with photoshop. oh yeah Diana Ser had her camera on bloggers in this episode. but i barely caught a third of the show. so i can't comment too much. one guy was disillusioned at 17 about blogging saying it gives you low self-esteem and plenty of self-pity. another girl said it saved her suicidal life. and xiaxue... well... she's just taking it all in. seems it's just how everyone looks at it individually right?

people pop in here to say "hi how are you? i've been busy with my own life but i dropped by to see how you have been doing." underneath the fun convenience of the shoutbox it also brings out the human side of the internet... rantings aside(i know this post is putting you to sleep possibly cos short of rants), i'd like to thank you for reading this as a person who cares!

apparently...

seems this new poll not exciting enough. lol ok. we'll see what develops. well the events of today included searching high and low to get screenshots of webbies i'd done that were graded by my lecturers etc etc etc...

activities included digging out my 4 *very* old harddisks. i had to shut down my pc, take out my 30gig hd out from its slot, fix the individual old hd on, and slot it back in. turn on the pc, activate command prompt mode. and hence i browse thru the contents in authentic DOS mode. found some interesting rubbish but otherwise nada.
  1. 40MB
  2. 350MB
  3. 400MB
  4. 520MB

yup. those things are in MEGABYTES. lol so i wasted my time running thru those stuff. turns out, i had what i was looking for already on my C: drive i fucking moron! so i happily concluded my search and carried on. yay~

other than this main highlight, i had to resort to asking dear jason to help host abit of my stuff so i can view them stuffus properly and take screenshots... thankew! other than that were more screenshots and...

my bloody win xp pro sp2 patch fucked up. i had to uninstall stuff, free at least 445MB of space on my C: and uninstall sp2 to make my pc come alive again. dammit.

and i took mummy to the doc for a bit in the afternoon. knee problem. they brought along ryan who surprisingly behaved quite well on board while i drove. XD before we left he saw flowers in the car porch and started repeating "hua hua" wahahaha... adorable! =x

hrmm oh ya i made a bit of changes to my blog. i'm going for an operation soon. but don't think anybody really noticed anyway. u guys just normally focus on my rants here anyway haha :P

101 Singaporean Nights

once in a while, i get to dream in my sleep. from time to time i'll post my dreams up here to share with everyone. what i do whenever i'm able to wake up -and- remember vaguely, what the dream was about, is to rush to my PC the moment my eyes open, type it up, and save it in a text file. this so i won't forget my dreams that easily. i must swear these following events really did happen in my dreams and eerie as some of they may sound i did not make them up. here's the first of the series...

[The Building]

Many people had disappeared due to unknown causes in a shopping centre people nicknamed "The Building". It seemed that the people had crossed a link-bridge on the top floor of the building and they were all seen alone at the time before their disappearances.

Our man comes into picture as a guy known as "K". K frequently passes by a canvas shop operating from a shophouse somewhere outside the central business district in the east.On this fateful day, as he walked past the canvas shop, he saw something unbelievable, that he could have sworn his eyes were playing tricks on him. Seated on an 'empty' chair outside the canvas shop, was an apparition, a partially visible image of a man. The ghost appeared to be drained of colors - K saw the ghost in shades of gray! As he was alone, K approached the shop owner who was cutting some material.

"Er...uncle, do you see anyone there?", K pointed to where the apparition sat.

"Oh, you mean that ghost? Aiya, I've seen a lot of them recently. They won't bother you if you don't bother them." the shop owner replied. "I think they were all killed in the shopping centre over there," he pointed K in the direction of "The Building".

"What did the police say?" K asked."Nobody called 'em. Nothing was left of the people who died. People who saw them fell said their bodies sunk as if the ground was quicksand. There weren't any traces left behind!" came the shocking reply.

Alas, K had an enormous amount of curiousity growing within him to investigate the causes of the deaths of so many people that even the police could do nothing about. K walked to "The Building" across the street. There were some shoppers, mostly tourists. Nevertheless, the shopping centre still looked deserted and felt eerie.

Wishing to take a better look at the surroundings, went for the stairwell next to the elevators. While walking up the staircase that was facing the inside of the building, he saw that the building had corridors encircling an open space from the second floor to the top floor, such that the top floor could be seen from the ground floor. As he approached the top floor, K's hair stood on end. Unknown to him, two women were watching his every move.

K reached the top floor and saw the mysterious link-bridge spanning across the wider side of the building. The two women were still eyeing him, K had now realized. Their icy stares sent chills down his spine, yet he felt calmness and a compulsion to trust the two mysterious figures. Unable to control himself, he stood with the two women and listen to them talk to him. One appeared to be in her 40's, the other in her 70's. When the younger woman spoke, her voice was deep and sounded masculine. The voice that spoke did not seemed to belong to this world. Unable to catch what the voice was saying but still felt the compulsion to nod as if he understood, K felt hypnotized.

The two women crossed his arms into theirs and started "helping" him towards the bridge. k broke out in sweat, wondering if this was his end. The trio reached the middle of the bridge, and stopped. As if waiting for someone or something, they stood still. K felt a gentle breeze on his cheeks. While trying to figure out where the breeze came from, K felt a sense of gravitational force lightly tugging at him from the middle of the bridge. Looking around, K saw people shopping at the floor below him all standing still, and knew time, had somehow stopped. A dot appeared in the middle of nowhere, and quickly grew into what appears like a portal from some sci-fi movie.

Straining and having the urge to break free from this tight situation, K strained his arms, trying to wrest himself from the clutches of the two demonic figures standing next to him. As if suddenly regaining consciousness, K instinctively knocked the two women together, pushing the seventy-year-old into the reddish-glowing vortex.

The other woman, regaining her stability, chased after K, awkardly much like a zombie. K tried to shake her off at one of the building's pillars on that floor, but ended up getting caught on the wrist by her. Giving the lifeless woman a kick in her chest, K paused to pant. The woman spoke. Only this time, K could hear her with clarity.

"You must come with us," her voice sounded like a million voices speaking together.

"But why?" K inquired, despite his overwhelming fear.

---To be continued---
well actually... there was no sequel. i woke up.

X_x

i think i'm addicted to these games. at least i hope i'm not. that's not good. not healthy. but i've been playing lots in shattered galaxy and gunbound. =_= lol sad case of a reclusive life at home.

new!

yeah just threw in the new voting poll~ :D straightforward and simple to answer. V^_^

info tidbit

i wanna discuss something in this entry, that involves a bit of national security. so if you happen to be a terrorist or bad person in overall, please don't come to my blog and read this. please don't. and please don't continue reading this. but i'm sure being all that great your god is and all you probably have what i have to say figured out already by now.

today i'm going to talk about barricades. the little stone-carved stumps that prevent vehicles from driving past certain restricted zones? well yes. i'm going to talk about those.

certain buildings in town have that kind of security feature. i shouldn't name which ones. but if you notice enough, you probably can figure out which ones. there are these round pillar-like stumps that prevent vehicles from driving thru a driveway that seemingly is meant to allow vehicles to drive thru. the stone stumps, well, they are driven by a piston. and controlled by a security officer in the building somewhere, to raise or lower the barrier. what this means is, the stumps can be submerged into the ground to allow certain vehicles to enter the restricted area. but this feature is so well designed normal passers-by won't really observe this happening. but it is really pretty useful a deterrent.

there's another unique barrier as well. it's a larger version of the stone stump. it's a long stretch of barrier that raises to stop entry of vehicles into a building. it has a "no entry" sign printed on it. but once deactivated it lowers and is flush with the ground.

so it does come in handy afterall

i've been typing up my resumé. yeah u heard me.

ok so i'm not exactly typing up something that's already in existence. just that i'm reformatting plus minor edits to my Communication Skill subject *homework* to fit my current profile. ^_^ it's kinda weird odd funny but i feel like after reading the dilbert book and the one before that, i have an immense urge to advertise myself in obscenely exaggerated terms. being the newly re-aligned person i am, supposedly i can reinvent myself to hide the flaws and spotlight the strengths i have! evil scheming little...

on a lighter note, i do find it hilarious looking back at the competitions and courses i've gone through since primary school. it's like, wow, you mean i was capable of all that crap back then but now i'm such a loser at making things happen? wahahaha... ok so i'm joking about the loser bit. nobody's a loser, especially not if they have people visiting their blog, tagging in their shoutbox, participating in the voting booth, and having a list of friendly links to other blogs.

isn't life WONDERFUL!? in macdonald's terms, i'm loving it. for now. at least. u know, despite being short on $$$ until i find a job. of which i'll have to lie that i intend to stay long, although, i won't actually tell them i intend to fly away to aussie in february. tricksy innit?

wheeeeeee~~~~~~

ORD LO!!!!! the elation! the happiness! the relief! the gushing sound of joy! the gurgling of disgusting random errors of job hazards melting away into the darkness where the sun will shine upon and vanquish the evil slave drivers of the madhouse that i was in! oh glory glory~ and i just mentioned a whole array of utter utterance that barely made any sense! ORD LO!!!

new thingy

yeah i got the idea of a vote thingy in my blog just for kicks out of nowhere. so i'm going to have occasional votes in future. probably a weekly thing. V^_^

the end draws near

yes all good things (and bad) must come to an end sometime. will be getting pink ic i hope. tomorrow. yay!~ possibly buying some durian puffs for the guys in camp. just because.

meanwhile i'll be hunting for a job. probably into web designing/programming or just plain tech support... so if u got any lobangs for me just let me know... hopefully i'll get my resumé together asap. i need $$$! if not, slack around no $ also no use! will be bored stiff!

i just bought 2 dilbert comic books. gawd.

and i'm still undecided whether to reveal the secret i have. harhar.

Saturday, October 09, 2004

-yawnz-

ok so i've burnt my whole day sitting around in aircon and surfing the web aimlessly watching vids from redvsblue... what an accomplishment. oh hey that's probably the word for today! i've got a better accomplishment today. i finished reading that dilbert: way of the weasel book today~ wow amazing cos it's been ages since i last read anything and this time round i actually manage to finish reading one whole book... hahaha =_= wheee maybe i'll start heading to the library when i'm too damn free some time in future. lots of calories to burn. i had a packet of calbee prawn crackers and 2 big bags of doritos... all of which were finished up by yours truly. so proud of myself. as long i don't gain too much fat or excess pimples. hahaha bleah~

i had a dream

yes i had one yesterday. no not last night. yesterday. i just happened to remember to type it out before i forget about it. here's what i dreamt of...

i was in training. somebody was teaching me how to drive. i mean advanced maneuvers. advanced EVASIVE maneuvers. or was it maneuvres... nvm... anyway so i was being taught how to drive defensively in a cheapo car. but the thing was, i was also learning offensive driving. no not the road rage kind. the kind that has me firing from a pistol... weird ain't it?

ok so there i was learning to evade getting shot at while driving, then moments later, i was learning how to drive while shooting at other oncoming training cars! and all this with real people driving the cars and LIVE rounds. yes i know it's a dream but i was firing LIVE rounds at dreamland people who might have gotten hurt! i was so thoughtless! i could have dreamt i was firing blanks or rubber pellets instead right?

all the action~ it was so damn thrilling to drive and firing a pistol at other cars with people driving them... in my dream...

oh yeah and guess what. 3 more days to ORD!!! yay! AND i've got another secret to reveal in days to come... hehehe... V^_^

Friday, October 08, 2004

counting down...

4 more days to go!!!

hrmm i've got conflicting sides to me, not uncommon anyway. here's why.

Side A
i resentful of the ppl that indirectly caused me to be on duty this last week before i ORD. but somehow i mostly have myself to blame. messes up my probable plans to probably find some probable work. and ppl are asking me what am i doing in camp still. and some say i sign on.

Side B
i get bored sick stuck at home all this while! going out every single other day is not healthy to the wallet either... so i'm left with staying home to park in IRC plus play online game. hrmm whatever happened to my xbox collecting dust... it's still gathering it's own forces of dust bunnies downstairs. so it's not a bad thing to be getting some work done in camp. helping them out the last days that i am able to. and i don't have that much things to do in camp anyway. it's just hanging around like a ghostly stench that won't go away until the rites have been performed and the pink ic surrendered to the ghost aka yours truly.

hehe seriously... i'm gonna miss my job. not the crappy stuff. the stuff that gets us out of camp and on the streets to
  1. keep things safe,
  2. look cool doing our jobs,
  3. talk to other agencies,
  4. talk to chicks (oops),
  5. ransack people's luggages (legally),
  6. poke our noses in everything ppl do,
  7. sitting in vehicles others don't get to sit in,
  8. having ppl gawk at what we do,
  9. having privy to info where most ppl don't,
  10. access to sensitive + dangerous knowledge (shhhhh),

and basically doing stuff that normal ppl just don't understand.

this world is short of ppl like my colleagues, so self-sacrificing. no, really. i mean it. from the bottom of my colon. despite the varying personalities and unique traits, i'm sure they can make things happen without (too much) hiccups when the need arises. i hope. especially with me not around anymore in future. XD

i read!

give me a book and i will read it, given that it's something i'd want to read about plus it being a lame subject and/or i enjoy the sarcasm provided by the author of the book. as to what kind of subject i like, u'll have to ask me and beg that i tell u if u ever decide to buy me a book to read.

so what did i do this time u ask? i have on hand a copy of "dilbert and the way of the weasel" to which i'd spent effort and time during my occupation in camp to keep me occupied in the midst of getting a document typed up and formatted, answering phone calls, typing the same document and answering more phone calls. for the record i'd read approx. half the book, at least that's what the makeshift bookmark i have is indicating to me.

so belive you me, if i ever get a book thrown at me to read, i'd probably read it. provided that i like it. ok probably a clue although i don't see much sense in providing this clue. i read semi-logical non-fiction story books that should be taken with a pinch of salt with regards to reality. that should be fairly clear now isn't it? V^_^

hope i don't catch a cold from the fan that will be blowing at my feet where my mattress will be. wish me a goodnight's sleep. i'll need it. ^_^

the secret revealed

ok so i was naughty and decided to do something out of the ordinary because i had beyond reasonable doubt that i had the balls to do it and the authorities won't find out for nuts and neither will they do much about it. i stayed out on my own accord(strike 1). ^_^V really that's all there is to it. :P in camp for today and on duty... 2nd last, yay... got screwed around for no apparent reason by a near-deaf dumbfuck chief of staff (strike 2) hahaha... hey everyone gets the joke. and i spent half the day tapping on my laptop i smuggled in(strike 3!!! and i'm still safe!)...

countdown!

6 more days to ORD! well, yes everyone who saw me since yesterday been asking "what (insert explicit word here) are you doing here (insert 2nd explicit word here)?" i just shrugged and even told some that i signed on. but i realise they'll pester me "really ah?" so i gave up and just told them i'm counting down the garang way. goodness really garang. duty calls today. and i'm just the one who stayed in camp making phone calls. i think i really meant it when i told some guy this while in camp today... (after the 3sounds rang) "i live for days like this" since what else would i be in camp for? alas, the people at sentosa decided it was alright for us to help determine that their discovery was indeed rag-and-bone man collectibles. so there was no real action to be seen. just tons of phone calls AND SMSes! loads of sms. to the whole lot of important people.

ok i'm a crafty idiot. i'll let u guys in on what i did tomorrow if i survive.

went for a spin

yup i took the car out for a short drive last night again! it's been sometime since my last spin. ok so it wasn't a ridiculously long one, just a drive to a few hotspots in town where the crowds are. at 11pm. hehe...
  • headed off CTE from home
  • to the stretch of Orchard Road (some silly white honda ek6 kept coming in front of me to show me it's lack of suspension cos it was vibrating quite violently)
  • turned round to shenton way (saturday night, lesser cars!)
  • drive by mohd sultan (the main crowd is there man... but so were the jam-packed cars)
  • detour thru scotts road to take a look at the queue outside china black(suckers queuing still by 11pm+)
  • past newton to bugis (zoom past mos burger and screeching to a hard right corner loudly hahaha)
  • onwards thru geylang, homebound

either the car needs new brakes, or the new tyres make for loud screechy parrots. i managed to hardcorner left and right rather loudly, even at relatively low speeds (move off from red light?!)... just love to see the pedestrians at the traffic junctions turn and gawk muahaha... and to be honest, i don't think the car needs new brakes anyway. cos... there were times i hard corner without pulling on handbrake neither did i step on footbrake. i just swirved hard, and voila, screeeeeeeeeech... and it wasn't too soft either ^_^

yes. sad case i know. i get high on that.

countdown!

10 more days to ORD!!! wheeeeeee~~~

*grumble*

hrmm here comes the end of another week. so i'll be headed back to camp from monday next week to be on duty blahblah... my days in camp are finally coming to a close. despite those ppl from camp not really going to read this i want to have a speech for those guys at work hehehe...so here goes...

it has been a really challenging year to be in there. esp from the beginning when we were still rookies. of course i got slightly pushed around but after sometime got the hang of it. i can't say those were the best of the times, i guess everyone can have fun while suffering.

of course i do enjoy the times when we go for work out in town, regardless of what time of the week it is, dinner time on a friday night, or wee hours before daylight on a sunday. definitely going to miss those experiences cos i know i won't have such chance in future. the ndp and asian aerospace work was an eye opener, with sunburns to remember by.

oh my... back when eric cheang was still around i was so stressed out with him hovering around. when he got posted out i was overjoyed. haha... yes despite LBS being around, he did take care of me. thanks for that really. suppose it's just me and the way i see things, but he does behave like a big brother to me although he does suan and screw me often. ok! screw as in scold. don't get funny thoughts. i still remember once we share cab and he dropped off somewhere first, the uncle asked if he was my brother. =_=

and the times when i do duty in camp... what with answering phone calls, checking stores like there's no tomorrow, honestly i do think my batch had it better off. seriously we manage to check stores pretty much complete in under an hour. which is good. and bad. cos it'd mean we have more time to get arrowed other stuff. hahaha...

it was well worth an experience. these were some stuff that occurred during my batch of guys:
  • stay out (yes now stay in but when we just finish our course it just started!)
  • duty in camp don't require duty personnel to "answer the phone" (yes now u need)
  • did the most extra guard duties in nsf 3sg history, yours truly. 9. beat that.
  • lost of one monitored, semi-dangerous item (so far so good no such situation repeat yet)
  • saw the coming and going of few figure heads of the unit.
  • having a WO who happen to ORD earlier than us. hahaha... TanSC. :P
  • after so long, 2 nsf who they decidedly promote from 3ic to 2ic. (namely adams and yours truly. but not wanting to give us 2sg, which was a good thing)
  • how many NSFs can truly admit they went to run army half marathon during their 2.5yrs, twice? i can. yes despite having run below the required timing...
  • personally i'd experienced a change of direct superiors. (so i was under 2 guys' command. slight difference. but just as demanding. =X)

on an ending note, i just want to voice out. so what the fuck was jeffrey thinking of? so what if anthony wasn't very flexible nor compliant to our requests? everyone in camp asks me that same question when they see me working. "why are you still here?" i dunno man. but i started to clear my leave early, just to slot in 2 weeks of duties for fuck? one week before i ORD and i have to do standby still?! ya so we may not be the guys next door. u may think they bully adams, but the guys next door at least gave him a chance to disappear since august. i started clearing since start of september and i still had to come back to work one last time, next week. wtf "too bad" means? don't tell me u guys can't survive on 3 2ics? why i need to be around? not like one can't go for off still... of course i'd try to be understanding but what you dumbfucks want me to understand? that you need to take longer breaks before i go away and leave you ppl hanging? what kind of mentality is that to squeeze me dry before i ORD? surely there's a better way to resolve the situation such as pressuring the higher authorities to settle the shortfall of personnel. yes i'm blaming jeffrey. no disrespect, but you know you could have done something easily if you had wanted to. but ever since they said there's no such thing as a pl wo all the things you could have done as the senior member of the department you left dangling and just basically stopped being garang. yes you provide welfare or at least sound like you care. the guys feel grateful cos of small things you do but in a way seem to coerce everyone to cooperate or else you will purposely deal with us differently. no it's not personal vendetta. just hope the 3 commanders in the department will better able to help the pc steer the guys in the right direction.

there. done with my grumbling for now. peace.
